No. It doesn't work that way, Donnie.

‘They lost Ryan’: Trump blames his own generals for Yemen raid that killed Navy SEAL

The little blame-weasel doesn't understand that the POTUS gives the go-ahead for any military operation. It doesn't matter if this was planned during the Obama administration; it doesn't matter if generals told him to go forward with it. Trump gave the order to carry out the operation, it is ultimately his failure.

The Bay of Pigs operation was planned before JFK took office. At the advice of "the generals," JFK gave the okay to go forward with it, and it was a terrible failure.  JFK took full responsibility for the failure, as an honorable president should, since he is the Commander in Chief.

Trump is a coward and a blame weasel. He blamed his generals, even though we all know Trump is the CiC who has the last word in these military operations.  Trump bears the responsibility for the Navy SEAL's death. Period.

The little blame-weasel is also trying to blame President Obama and the Democrats for the recent vandalism and bomb threats to Jewish cemeteries and community centers.

He even suggested that the Jews themselves may have perpetrated the desecration of their cemeteries.  He doesn't understand that his choosing an anti-Semite alt-right as his strategic adviser nor his Muslim ban have anything to do with what's happening around the country to minority religions and communities.

A Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia was desecrated by vandals

(Reuters) - Scores of headstones at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia have been broken and overturned, media reports said on Sunday, in the latest apparent vandalism incident at a Jewish burial ground in the United States.

Police who responded to a Sunday morning report of vandalism at the Mount Carmel Cemetery found from 75 to 100 gravesites damaged, including toppled headstones snapped off at the base, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

U.S.20 BOMB THREATS AGAINST JEWISH SITES ON MONDAY, FOLLOWING PHILADELPHIA CEMETERY DESECRATION

At least 20 bomb threats were made to Jewish institutions in 12 or more states on Monday, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), causing the organization to issue a security advisory. The wave of threats was the fifth in recent weeks and came one day after Jewish community leaders found more than 500 headstones toppled at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia.

A similar incident at a Jewish cemetery near St. Louis occurred days before that. The wave of bomb threats on Monday brought the total number of such incidents in 2017 to almost 90, according to the ADL. “Unfortunately, bomb threats are not the only manifestation of anti-Semitism in recent weeks, as we have seen Jewish cemetery desecrations strike St. Louis and Philadelphia,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement.

ANNE FRANK CENTER FOR MUTUAL RESPECT:

The New York Times:

Mr. Trump’s denunciations of and policies targeting Mexicans, Muslims and others have reawakened and energized the demons of bigotry. Hate crimes and other incidents of bias have flared up, as documented by many news organizations. Mr. Kuchibhotla’s murder is one end of a continuum of hate. Elsewhere, people have defiled or threatened violence at Jewish cemeteries and synagogues. Mr. Trump has been shockingly slow to condemn these acts of hate. [...] Each act of hate is easily explained away as the work of a disturbed person. Yet, had these attacks been perpetrated by a Muslim or an undocumented immigrant, the president would surely have claimed that he was right all along. Rather than tamp down hate, the president has stoked it.

Lord Dampnut was quick on the Tweet finger when SNL's Alec Baldwin mocked him in several skits, but the fake preznit has had no time to tweet about the vandalism and hate crimes being perpetrated against America's Jewish communities. He's too busy telling his supporters to rally for him and prop up his fragile ego.

Meanwhile, we're seeing, what is to us, an unprecedented attack on a religious community that should send shivers down anyone's spine who's read history.

"...an inept White House led by a celebrity apprentice."

NYTimes: What America has seen so far is an inept White House led by a celebrity apprentice."

President 40% -- The lowest approval rating of any new president in modern American history

"When Mr. Trump’s assistants can keep the edge of panic out of their voices, they insist that Mr. Trump has gotten more done in the early going than most presidents. And Mr. Trump is so adept at creating smoke that Americans might be forgiven for thinking that’s true," the Times wrote. "[T]he president confuses executive orders with achievements."

[skip]

"The White House is a toxic mix of ideology, inexperience and rivalries; insiders say tantrums are nearly as common as the spelling errors in the press office’s news releases," the Times said. "If there is any upside here, it is that the administration’s ineptitude has so far spared the nation from a wholesale dismantling of major laws, including the Affordable Care Act, though he may yet kill the law through malign neglect."

AND THIS:

HR McMaster, the respected army lieutenant general Trump chose to replace Michael Flynn after he resigned, told White House staff at a meeting on Thursday that he does not want to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism.” You know, what Obama has been saying for years.

The JOTUS* Embarrasses Himself Again

JOTUS* once again showed the country and the world his YUUUGE ignorance. This time it's his ignorance about the national debt.

Here's Lord Dampnut's tweet from the other day:

"The media has not reported that the National Debt in my first month went down by $12 billion vs a $200 billion increase in Obama first mo[nth],"

The tweet, which echoes something Herman Cain said on Fox News' Fox & Friends an hour before, doesn't make sense for a few reasons.

First, it is true that the debt has probably ticked down but as noted by the Atlantic's David Frum, this is mostly due to the federal government rebalancing its intra-governmental holdings.

Debt outstanding to the public has barely budged since Inauguration Day. Additionally, the federal government is still operating under the budget passed before Trump came into office, so even if the overall debt decreased, his administration had little to do with it.

Finally, and most importantly, the economic circumstances during his and Obama's first month in office are vastly different and make the comparison totally off base.

When Obama took office in January 2009, the country was in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The US economy lost 702,000 jobs in February 2009 and 832,000 in March 2009, GDP growth collapsed, and foreclosures soared.

In response to this crisis, Obama did what presidents typically do during recessions: took on debt to stimulate the economy. In the depths of a recession, private investment collapses.

So, generally accepted economic theory concludes that the government should induce investment and step in during these times of crisis to prop up the stumbling private sector.

Thus, both Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush signed into law bills to inject large amounts of capital into the economy to both save the financial sector and get people back to work. For instance,

Bush passed the Toxic Asset Relief Program in October 2008 which used just over $426 billion in federal funds to "bail out" the country's largest banks.

Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in February 2009 which allocated $831 billion in federal funds to finance investment projects such as infrastructure.

By contrast, Trump has inherited — as he even noted — a country with a vastly improved economic standing. The labor market has improved drastically, with unemployment at

Saturday Night Music

"My Shot" and "Rise Up" from "HAMILTON:"

"Otherwise, We Are Lost"

The following was written by author, journalist, Yvonne Daley, a woman I'm honored to call friend, since high school.

"Let it roll in -- you who studied journalism, you who grew up on papers and radio news, you who watched a president killed on national tv, shout it out, that we are capable of making decisions and knowing bullshit when we read it. You whose game stories were in the paper and your kid's award, and the selectmen's meeting or the US Senate and they got it all right or they got it all wrong, maybe you wrote a letter to the editor, maybe you wrote to the reporter, maybe you just griped or stopped believing. But think of the times the press uncovered wrong, or told a story that needed to be told, or helped people find common ground -- too rare. Yet it happened and you remember those stories, don't you? The ones that changed your mind or opened your heart. Let it roll in -- your more-rounded, fuller, less brainwashed version of the news. You love that 24-hour news cycle, don't you? It is a pollution that causes errors. But you wanted it and the press gave up some caution to give it. Will we pull back time?

 No.

Still, it's what we have. It's the journal of a town, a city, a people, a government. It's a version and the more versions the better. The problem is not that there's too many news services; it's that people have to be thoughtful consumers.

Journalism is written by imperfect humans, most of them doing their best, even those with bias. There are editors and fact-checkers and they are human too. But you have nothing better. Do you believe in the deconstruction of your government? Do you know the outcome of that. The word is chaos.

It is not the government's job to censor the press any more than it is the press's job to be the president's cheerleader. So, let it roll in, the outrage. Regardless of which side of the divide you're on, speak your outrage that silencing the press is not democracy, that the First Amendment matters. Proclaim it. A movement will come out of this. If a free press and your right to information from all sorts of sources, uncensored, unthreatened, is threatened, you must resist.

Otherwise, we are lost."

Trump White House Bars News Organizations From Press Briefing

CPAC scrambles to control damage after attendees wave Russian flags during Trump speech

Staffers at CPAC quickly scrambled to confiscate Russian flags with the word “TRUMP” on the front that were being waved by attendees during President Donald Trump’s speech on Friday. The trouble began when some attendees took out pro-Trump flags to wave during the president’s speech that also happened to have the same white-blue-and-red striped pattern as Russian’s official flag.

So Goopers, who never tire of telling the rest of the country how patriotic they are, actually waved a foreign country's flag with Trump's name on it as a symbol of what? Their patriotism? Their support of a country's dictator? A country that hacked our U.S. election? Yeah. That's it. They approve of what Russia did to get the Horse's Ass elected as POTUS.

The country they're honoring, Russia, is headed by the former Communist head of the KGB -- a man who routinely murders journalists and opposition politicians and who invades countries and supports other dictators.

The Republicans at CPAC like Putin enough to honor him and his country by waving its national flag during a US president's speech?

If Obama or ANYONE had dared to display this traitorous behavior during a president's speech, they would have been hauled out of the auditorium, thrown in a tumbrel, and brought to a public execution.

What the hell more do you need to be put in front of your noses?

UPDATE:

It's worse than what was reported. Apparently this was a prank, and the CPAC attendees were too dumb to understand they were pwnd. But it's not surprising, is it? These people support Lord Dampnut.

Goopers Refuse to See What's in Front of Their Noses

Conservative activists refuse to believe Trump is spending more on travel than Obama

Of course they refuse to believe anything except Trump's alternative facts.

They're the same people who had no problem voting for a man who bragged about adultery with other men's wives and with getting away with sexual assault on women; a man who mocked a disabled journalist and a POW; a man who deals in lies and misinformation on a daily basis; and a man who pretends to be a Christian.

We don't have to know anything more about the people who voted for the most disliked new president in U.S. history. They absurdly believe the country and the world admires Trump.

And they all refuse to see what's in front of their noses.

They're to be pitied more than reviled for their mental confusion and weaknesses. The local town hall meetings with Gooper senators and representatives may help them to "stay woke."

Charles Blow:

"I have no patience with liberal talk of reaching out to Trump voters. There is no compromise point with those who accept, promote, and defend bigotry, misogyny, and xenophobia than there is in a designation of "almost pregnant."

Trump is a cancer on this country and resistance is the remedy. The Trump phenomenon is devoid of compassion, and we must be closed to compromise.

No one need try to convince me otherwise. The effort is futile; my conviction is absolute. This is a culture war in which truth is the weapon, righteousness the flag, and passion the fuel.

Fight, fight, fight. And when you are finished, fight some more. Victory is the only acceptable outcome when freedom, equality, and inclusion are at stake."

Yes. Yes. Yes.

And yes some more.

Trump's hiring freeze causes cut-backs in pre-K education for military families in US and Germany

h/t to Rational Nation USA for this video.  Go visit RN USA's new digs.

Here's the guy that over 80% of Goopers are loyal to.

Listen to how often he contradicts himself and changes what, to serious people, would be core value positions. Lord Dampnut changes so often because he has no core values and probably because, like all liars, can't remember which lies he's put out to the public that endears him to his easily duped followers.

This guy is the darling of the people who have always said that character matters.  Ha!

Sure it does. Character matters only if the politician has a "D" after his or her name. When a politician has an "R" after his or her name, the Goopers would excuse Beelzebub himself because they value ideology over character and every other decent human value.  That they still support this disgusting person as their preznit tells us more about them than anything else.

Here's their guy, talking out of both sides of his maw. What does he really believe? It appears he believes in nothing and everything.

The Real Enemy of the American People

"The people are the only censors of their governors: and even their errors will tend to keep these to the true principles of their institution. To punish these errors too severely would be to suppress the only safeguard of the public liberty. The way to prevent these irregular interpositions of the people is to give them full information of their affairs thro’ the channel of the public papers, & to contrive that those papers should penetrate the whole mass of the people. The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers & be capable of reading them." --Thomas Jefferson

Trump tweeted:

The media are the 'enemy of the American people'

His followers, without using what's left of their minds to think, dutifully agreed, like good little sheeple.

Donald Trump's America:

This is how Lord Dampnut inspires a nation of free men and women:

Kill the free press and destroy the 1st Amendment that millions of men and women died in countless wars to protect.

That's what you've got for a president, Nation, a pant-wetting coward who can't take criticism of him by the media as every other president has, going back to the founding of America.

Trump is not just a coward and weak little  pissy-pant cry-baby, but he is a danger to our American democracy.

No. The media are not the enemy of the American people.

Loud-mouthed, narcissistic demagogic presidents who know nothing about our democracy and how it works are the enemy of America and her people.

Saturday Night Music

Let's get away from the madness of King Donald and enjoy some art:

Alexander Hamilton!

What?

This is the sort of thuggish behavior we'd expect from Putin or Assad, or Kim Jong Un, or Erdoğan , just to name a few dictators who get rid of media that aren't "friendly" to the strongman:

Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, recently met with CNN's parent company Time Warner and mentioned the cable news network's coverage of the administration as slanted.

During the meeting at the White House, Kushner expressed concerns about what the administration considers is CNN's unfair coverage of the President to Gary Ginsberg,

Time Warner's executive vice president of corporate marketing and communications, two persons familiar with the situation said. One of the persons said that topics of the discussion included Israel and Kushner made a joking reference to CNN's perceived anti-Trump coverage.

Trump disparaged CNN during his press conference Thursday while taking a question from CNN's senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta noting "the hatred coming from other people on your network." The president has made clear his disdain for CNN.

A month ago, during Trump's first full press conference after being elected, he called CNN a peddler of "fake news" because the network had produced a story reporting that the U.S. intelligence officials had presented Trump and President Obama with a "dossier" of unverified, but potentially compromising information about the president-elect that Russian operatives claimed to have.

**********

We need more, not less, anti-Trump coverage and reporting. Trump- and his pissant little son-in-law need a lesson on the First Amendment. How dare Jared Kushner intimidate a newspaper over its coverage of his father-in-law. This makes Trump look like a chicken-yellow little snot, sending his baby-boy son-in-law out to tell critics to make nice-nice with the temperamental diaper preznit.  Trump and his mafiosi-like family have only reinforced what America and the rest of the world think of Trump: He's a whiney-ass titty-baby, unfit to be president; a coward, who wets his pants and throws a tantrum every time someone publishes a story that doesn't flatter his ego.

American men and women bled on battlefields to defend our Constitution. We will not allow billionaire fancy-boys to threaten one of our greatest freedoms -- the freedom to call bull$hi+ on liars, cheats, and con-artists who think they're above the law because they're the POTUS.

This will not stand. CNN needs to keep up the unrelenting coverage of The Maniac-in-Chief.

Contact CNN and tell them you, as a free American, support the freedom of the press -- all media -- and every citizen who chooses to disagree with a public official -- but especially this "unnaturally fluorescent mass of insecurities."

Those who intimidate and try to curtail the freedom of the press are the real enemies of America.

Never believe otherwise.

Really, really funny...

and apt description of the "so-called" Leader of the Free World. (The Brits have a special way with rhetoric, and it's glorious!):

The unnaturally fluorescent mass of insecurities, apparently incapable of understanding basic logic, told press that the real story was how incredible it was and how much everyone loved it.

The thing, which blankly opened and closed a hole in its face even when not speaking as if in an autonomous feeding reflex, was able to respond to human speech but experts believe it is simply mimicry, devoid of meaning.

BBC reporter Julian Cook said: “It appeared to answer questions, but when you read back the answers they’re nothing but a torrent of unconnected words mixed with a keening refrain of pathetic self-praise.

“We believe this creature actually feeds on adulation and has adapted to seek out high concentrations of it, but instead is now exposed to unprecedented levels of toxic criticism causing it to lash out.”

He added: “Its neediness is almost to be pitied, if it wasn’t such a contemptible sack of orange shit.”
