The Trump Regime is hateful, spiteful, and lawless.

Below is a perfect example of a Trumpian hateful and malicious action. What possible reason, except spitefulness and vengeance, could the regime have for kicking Doug Emhoff off the US Holocaust Memorial Council?:

Doug Emhoff was just removed from the US Holocaust Memorial Council by Trump's regime.

His reply is full of class and grace:

"Today, I was informed of my removal from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous – and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve.

No divisive political decision will ever shake my commitment to Holocaust remembrance and education or to combating hate and antisemitism. I will continue to speak out, to educate, and to fight hate in all its forms – because silence is never an option." --Douglas Emhoff

  2. And now Trump has announced his admin is moving to strip Harvard of their tax exempt status. Now, at least Skud is consistent. He does not believe any non profits need tax exempt status, Harvard, churches or even my employer included. While I disagree with him, I can respect his consistency.

What I am trying to understand, and it is the same with many Trump policies is this... what is the objective here? What is Trump trying to accomplish with his move against Harvard?

This is not like Bob Jones University in the 1970's when the Ford Admin and the the Carter Admin moved to take away their tax exempt status because they had openly racist, discriminatory and illegal policies.

    This is something else.

I'm hoping our resident MAGA friends can explain what the goal is. Why is President Trump attacking Harvard? What wrong is he trying to right?

    1. These are the kind of folks who support Trump. They like his thinking and that includes EXCLUDING people from the US and/or punishing people who do not agree with Trump. The woman who wrote this eager agreement with that apparently isn't an American, nor does she know ANYTHING about our Constitution:

Geeez: "That Trump wants to keep anti American thought/actions out of here is good……."

She believes it's good to keep people out of America for thought crimes!

      She obviously never read 1984:

"In George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984", thoughtcrime is defined as the act of thinking or holding beliefs that are deemed heretical or dangerous by the Party. It encompasses any deviation from the Party's prescribed ideology, even if not outwardly expressed. Thoughtcrime is considered the most serious offense, as it represents a direct challenge to the Party's authority and control.:

  3. Its all about revenge. If you don't worship His Highness, you are an enemy of the state. Like the professor at Yale that wrote books on Fascism. He left for a University in Toronto, Land of the Free. Reminds of the old kids parody on the song My Country Tis Of Thee -
"My Country's sick of me, I'll go to Germany to see the King
The King is DONALD duck, he drives a garbage truck
From sea to shining, he drives his truck"

    1. I remember that song with different lyrics:

      "My country Tis of thee
      Sent me to Germany
      To see the king.
      The king was Donald Duck
      He drives a garbage truck
      The queen is Daisy Duck
      She smokes cigars.

I taught my grandchildren that song. My granddaughter sang it for her 1st grade class, and proudly told the teacher her Nani taught her that!

      I slinked away.

  4. That is the exact reason we need to not grant tax free status to any institution group or entity. If you want to give to an organization including to a political candidates campaign you are welcome to but that shouldn't cost anyone but you and tax deductions are billing everyone.

I don't know how to control the massive amount spent on elections except to limit the amount and have a fixed federal payment to all presidential candidates still on the ballot for November. No PAC's no outside money spent. That takes away a lot of the gravy used to pay our elected elite so it will never fly.

  5. Simple add 15 dollars to everyone's federa tax bill specifically earmarked to finance campaigns for federal office. Split equally between candidates with a maximum cap. No more private donations. Period. Get the goddamn money out of elections entirely. Lacking that the oligarchs and wealty corporations will continue to corrupt our elections.

    1. Something like that could work Les. I would add a campaign time limit much like the rest of the world, to focus the craziness into a shorter time period, rather than a 2 year window.

  6. Punishing Jewish Democrats is how Trump fights antisemitism.
    That tracks.
