If a leader of a country says this... “I have the right to do anything I want to do — I’m the president...”, would it cause concern for anyone?
Think of it happening in Canada, England, Germany or Japan... would that cause anyone who regularly posts here to wonder what was happening if those countries had decided to abandon democratic norms?
Would anyone think those countries had elected a demagogue, or were slouching towards Gomorrah?
Now let's be honest, that has not happened in any of those countries, while Italy and Mexico are trying. But it did happen here last Tuesday at the most recent meeting of President Trump's cabinet.
Those are his exact words, evidencing that he does not believe he is constrained by any laws, checks or balances.
What's really amazing is that not a single member of the cabinet even bothered to give lip service to our constitutional checks and balances or adhering to US laws.
Not. A. One. It was just feckless adoration. For a felon.
Now, I know -FJ will post a video, skud will talk of how bad the Dem candidates were and how we didn't have a real choice, Tom and trolls will pretend they were never angry when Presidents Obama and Biden got out over their legal skis and maybe Joe C will take the good for the goose, good for the gander approach.
In America we're witnessing this phenomenon in real time.
