"WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to use the Insurrection Act, which would allow him to deploy military forces, in Minnesota amid escalating tension over a deployment of federal agents in the state's most populous city, which has become the focus of daily clashes.
"If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post."
"This is an impossible situation that our city is presently being put in, and at the same time, we are trying to find a way forward to keep people safe, to protect our neighbors, to maintain order," he said.
"Frey described a federal force that is five times as big as the city's 600-officer police force and has "invaded" the city, scaring and angering residents, some of whom want the officers to "fight ICE agents." At the same time, the police force is still responsible for its day-to-day work to keep the public safe.
The Department of Homeland Security says it has made more than 2,000 arrests in the state since early December and is vowing to not back down."

It's really rich to read Trump's Truth Social post calling the politicians of Minnesota "corrupt."
Trump is an actual convicted criminal who partied for years with known pedophiles who trafficked underage girls to rich and powerful men for sex.
America is now reaping the whirlwind for entrusting our government to a liar, cheat, fraudster, and convicted criminal.
He's been stewing about Minnesota since the G Floyd protests. Will he do it? After last night's shooting, I believe he will.
ReplyDeleteMayor Frey has been pleading to protestors, "Don't take the bait".
ReplyDeleteProtesting is appropriate and protected speech, but interfering with armed thugs only invites harsher measures. It would be wise of peaceful protestors to make an effort to shun or actively discourage confrontations.
It's difficult to restrain oneself when in highly emotional situations, but cool heads are better than reckless actions.
I hope more of them listen to their mayor.
'Minnesota Nice' has its limits.
ReplyDeleteA criminal threatening (responding) as an ignorant tyrant will.
ReplyDeletePut the ICE back into "Minnesota nICE"!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you'd have been as excited as you are now had you watched the Sturmabteilung round up the people the Third Reich found undesirable.
DeleteWe already know that there is a certain, ah, element in our population, that gets off watching young mothers being shot 3 times in the head, and then hearing her executioner call her a "fucking bitch."
Shaw... don't let Mr "I do this stuff to piss off libs" -FJ get to you.
ReplyDeleteWho knows what he believes as he lives out his days taking joy from the misfortunes and worry of others. We certainly have never seen many definitive views of his expressed cleanly and plainly.
He's a gadabout. A rabble-rouser. The online equivalent of the troll in the back of class who exists simply to disrupt.
They really need to remove the Ice agents, troops and all cops from Minneapolis and see where it goes from there. The city has proven they don't care about businesses or law abiding citizens and that they only care about rioters and professional protesters. Maybe they could send them to Venezuela because it seems the citizens are fine with enforcement action.
ReplyDeleteThat Ford worker in Detroit who called Trump a "pedophile protector," was telling the truth. Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison for trafficking and having sex with underage girls.
DeleteTrump had his DoJ move her from a regular prison to a cushy "club fed" where she can have daily massages, special meals, and internet access.
No incarcerated pedophile has ever been treated with deference the way Maxwell has by Trump.
Therefore, Trump is, in fact, a pedophile protector.
Who the hell protects pedophiles? Someone who may have a guilty conscience? I'm just asking questions.
