This is the half-time entertainment that TPUSA is billing as an "All American Show," and is offering to compete with Bad Bunny, whom they criticized for not being an American (he is) and who is the official half-time entertainment for the Super Bowl.

Our struggle here is how stuff relates to the Super Bowl Halftime Show this year.
If Bad Bunny is so bad, partly for his Spanish, fine. Pick someone else. But why would the GOP?MAGA crowd choose a man whose lyrics glorify pornography, sex with underage minors and more?
To me, it's an unforced political error.

ReplyDeleteIt's totally indefensible. And yet, while Bad Bunny is singing about love, relationships and love [I should've taken more fotos], millions of evangelicals will make sure nary a discouraging word about Trump or ICE is heard on their television.
Because they'll be watching red, white and blue bonanza put on by a man whose lyrics would have been rated "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" under the rating systems of Tipper Gore, which they all supported.
I think many of the MAGA/GOP crowd are longing for the Up with People/Marching Band/Andy Williams/Pete Fountain/Al Hirt halftime show days.
ReplyDeleteAs a once one time musician (solo trumpet for 6 years) I was known as the Little Al Hirt of Auburn Washington in the early to mid "60"'s. Ole Al did fine Dixieland Jazz back in the day. Although real big band jazz leader Canadian Maynard Fergusson was the Chairman of the Board of Jazz trumpet virtuosos'.

Yes, Miles Davis was a great jazz artists. I actually had Some Kind of Blue and listened to Miles' artistry often.
