ARE WE GREAT YET?

The more you know about the Christian Nationalist heading our Department of Defense, the more sickening it is:

"At the Pentagon's monthly worship service yesterday, the Secretary of Defense stood up, told military leaders what they hear in worship should "inform" their war decisions, and then read a prayer calling for "great vengeance and furious anger" on Iran. He said the prayer was called "CSAR 2517," standing for Combat Search And Rescue, and was based on Ezekiel 25:17.

It wasn't.

It was from the movie, Pulp Fiction. Specifically, it was the speech Samuel L. Jackson's character recites before executing an unarmed man. Tarantino wrote those lines himself.

They are not in any Bible. They are in a Quentin Tarantino movie.

The actual Ezekiel 25:17 has one sentence. The rest, including "the path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men," was invented for a 1994 film about hit men eating hamburgers.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

The Secretary of Defense [War] read a fictional hit man's execution speech to bless an actual war."

The service was reportedly the second in a row that Hegseth used violent verses and messaging in discussing the war in Iran:

“Grant this task force clear and righteous targets for violence,” he prayed last month.

What the Christians' Savior, Jesus, ACTUALLY preached:

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9).

What the Secretary of Defense did was quote a Hollywood movie's words about violence and killing as scripture, and he ignored the actual words of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Are we great yet?

  1. Wont go anywhere, given the saturation of the Fed Guv, but it is a start -
"Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.) has announced her intention to introduce articles of impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The allegations include:

War Crimes: Hegseth is accused of committing war crimes, including the bombing of civilian infrastructure such as a girls' school in Iran.
Constitutional Violations: Ansari claims Hegseth has repeatedly violated his oath of office and the Constitution, endangering U.S. servicemembers."
The World Court holds a stronger vierw ----

    1. Whether it goes anywhere remains to be seen. What is important, IMO, is seeing people speak out and making an effort to bring these issues to the public’s attention.

  2. There has never been a place for Christ in Christian nationalism.
They want a government that doesn't provide for the general welfare, healthcare, or food for the hungry.
They DO want a government that punishes people they don't understand or hate.

    1. Look at how quickly MAGA went after the pope, because he dared to remind everyone about what the Christian God said about people who make war and people who are the peacemakers. MAGA took the side of the convicted felon and adjudicated SA/rapist and ignored what Pope Leo had to say.

  3. We were a hell of a lot greater before the trump brought his deep ignorance, lack of compassion, and seething hate to Washington DC and every branch of the federal government.

  5. The enemy within should be the true definition of our federal government. The republicans are so focused on protecting trump and the democrats are focused on destroying him that no one is taking the time to govern.
What was the last thing the republicans did for the American citizen?
What was the last thing the democrats did for the American citizen?
Tough question because we have no governing body just two parties trying to destroy each other.

How many years will it take to get over trump. You have to admit he is the best thing to help the democrats in years. He is the gift that keeps on giving.

    1. "...the democrats are focused on destroying him that no one is taking the time to govern."

You do this all the time, skud. You make a generalization or just an unsourced statement and NEVER link to evidence.

Please explain how the Democrats are "destroying" Trump? The Democrats have zero power to do ANYTHING to rein Trump's out-of-control chaos and his own self--destructive impulses in. Trump is doing that to HIMSELF.

He's the one who published that meme of him looking like Jesus, then lied about it by saying he thought he looked like a doctor. What utter lying rubbish.

Then he went and picked a fight with the pope! The leader of over 1 billion people on the planet, and lied about what the pope said about a just war.

Trump is his own worst enemy, and he will be the architect of his own undoing, not the Democrats. And he's doing a great job of it every time he grabs his phone or opens his unholy mouth. His approval numbers are in the 30s, and the American people are fed up with him and his spiraling psychopathy.

I will repeat: The Democrats are NOT destroying Trump. Trump and his feckless Republican sycophants are doing that. And it is crystal clearly evident to the world -- with the exception of you.

  6. The democrats control the MSM, except fox, and they are doing the bidding for them. I will asked the question you didn't answer. What has either party done for the American people. Not the special interest segment they both have but the majority of the American citizens.

  7. Trump is doing a 1st class job of destroying his credibility and legacy all by himself skud. With any luck he'll take his party down with him. Which of course would be the appropriate outcome given the blind support his party has given him.

  8. skud: "The democrats control the MSM..."

That's an opinion, not a fact. "...and they are doing the bidding for them." Is another right-wing opinion given without any evidence.

"Do someone's bidding" means to obey orders, carry out commands, or perform services for someone, often reluctantly or for a powerful person. It implies following requests—direct or implied—and suggests the person doing the bidding is submissive, sometimes acting against their own wishes to satisfy another's."

Words and phrases have meaning, skud. Prove that the Democratic Party does all of the above. We'll wait to read your evidence. Until then, what you've written and posted here is just rumor, supposition, and opinion. Backed up by nothing. Why should ANYONE believe you?

As to your question on what the parties have done, you can find that out with a simple Google search. I'm tired of having to do that for you when you ask that question.

All political parties have their good and bad points. You seem to have a child-like view of how politics works -- that's my opinion., I don't know if it is a fact.

But since you appear to be too lazy to look up what the Dems accomplished, I'll list for you what the Biden administration did:

    Key Legislative and Policy Achievements
Infrastructure & Manufacturing: Passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for roads, bridges, broadband, and EV charging stations. The CHIPS and Science Act aimed to boost domestic semiconductor production.

Climate & Energy: Passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which represents the largest climate investment in U.S. history, aiming to reduce carbon pollution and invest in clean energy.

Healthcare: Authorized Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices and reduced premiums under the Affordable Care Act.

  9. Economy & Jobs: Experienced significant job growth, including a surge in manufacturing jobs and a low unemployment rate.

Gun Safety & Social Issues: Signed the Safer Communities Act, the first major federal gun safety legislation in decades.

Judicial Appointments: Appointed Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court and appointed a record number of diverse federal judges.

    Foreign Policy and Executive Actions
Alliances & Defense: Strengthened NATO, supporting its expansion to include Finland and Sweden, and established the AUKUS security alliance.

Veteran Care: Signed the PACT Act to expand healthcare for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits.

Student Debt: Implemented targeted student loan forgiveness programs for specific groups.

  10. Foreign Policy: Completed the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, ending the20-year war, and authorized the drone strike that killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

    Policy Changes & Reforms
Justice & Drug Policy: Issued pardons for federal convictions of simple marijuana possession and initiated a review of marijuana scheduling.

LGBTQI+ Rights: Rescinded the ban on transgender service members in the military and implemented "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" review protections.

Reproductive Rights: Took executive action to protect access to medication abortion (mifepristone) and emergency care following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

That took me 10 minutes of Google searching, which gleaned these accomplishments from Politico, The American Project, and other sources.

I'm not going to do your homework again. It appears that you like to say the political parties do nothing because that claim supports your biases.
