Trump knew that the best way to play God as President was to use modern American "Christianity" that is nowhere grounded in the life of Jesus and his words. This phony Christianity is the basis of the Republican Party. It is grounded in hateful anger, not the loving lamb of Christ. Pope Leo's admonishments are a long time coming.
My fellow atheists should understand that Christianity also includes a vast number of people who seek the spiritual values taught by Jesus in the Gospels (4 short, repetitive documents which reply a quick look). Jesus was said to have sacrified. He was against wealth and power and for caring, sharing, healing, compassion, and inclusion.
Trump has no desire to 'suffer for our sins'. He has a great desire to sin to make us all suffer.
He wants wealth beyond dreams of avarice, and as a bankruptcy specialist he now has his greedy hands on the full faith and credit of the US of A. He is finally the billionaire he always claimed to be, and is building monuments to himself and accepting gifts of great value, gold for preference though a fancy jet was just fine. No corruption to great, no gift too large.
He is, as others are beginning to observe, the very model of a modern anti-Christ.
There is great value in true, altruistic spirituality. A spirituality that is actually grounded in the teachings of ALL great spiritual masters from India, to China, to Tibet, to the ME. A spirituality that flows from a deep recognition we are all interconnected and are really just a tiny part of a much greater and broader whole. True spiritual masters have taught this through the ages.
American Evangelical Christian Nationalism and Israeli Zionism stand in Direct opposition to the teachings of all true spiritual masters.
Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, Speaker Johnson, Hannity et all are all the purveyors of a false and blasphemous Christianity. A Christianity that supports racism, white supremacy, white privilege, misogyny, and government supported criminality.
The Evangelical Prosperity Gospel, the fake untrue Christianity Evangelicals preach is the juice of the republican, now trumpublican party. A gospel that would have Jesus, and all true spirituality masters, railing against as it lacks wisdom, compassion, and empathy. All components of true and honest spirituality.
Unless this nation, and the Zionist state wake up soon the deep and vicious negative karma (action and intention) they have engaged in WILL come home to roost and it woi be devastating to both nations.
