Dolly was an icon in American music in the vein of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Willie Nelson and Jerry Garcia. Above all, she was a kind, compassionate, and generous person and all around good human being.
Obviously the opposite of MAGAts in every way.

I heard this today... Dolly wrote "Jolene" AND "I will always love you" on the same night.
An incredible feat.
Is it true? Is it historical fiction or legend?
Who knows. But that fact that people are talking about it says volumes about how much respect her songwriting ability has.

Helped fund the Moderna Covid Vaccine. Quietly paid for band instruments across the south. After Hurricane Helene gave monthly stipends of $1000 to hundreds of families for months as the recovered. In her hometown Sevier County, Tennessee, she helped make sure 7th and 8th grade students stayed in school with cash donations, lowering the dropout rate from 35% to 6%.
This is a double tap for me. Not only did we lose Dolly but Tim Curry crossed over on the same day. His people held back the announcement until Wednesday out of respect for Dolly.
I'm devastated as two of my icons are gone, both amazing humans who not only lived their lives as the genuine article but talented artists in a time where AI is proffered as 'art'. While most folks are posting about Rocky Horror Picture Show my favorite movie of Mr. Curry's is his Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island.
Again, Dolly because she's DOLLY!!! and Tim because he made me laugh when laughing was very hard.
An American Icon... the world is a sadder place today.
