Here is someone who, even if she grows to one hundred pounds and stretches more than eight feet long, could still squeeze her boneless body through an opening the size of an orange; an animal whose eight arms are covered with thousands of suckers that taste as well as feel; a mollusk with a beak like a parrot and venom like a snake and a tongue covered with teeth; a creature who can shape-shift, change color, and squirt ink. But most intriguing of all, recent research indicates that octopuses are remarkably intelligent.

Octopuses have the largest brains of any invertebrate.

And the octopuses know how to get what they want: by employing foresight, planning—and perhaps even tool use. Jennifer Mather is the lead author of "Octopus: The Ocean’s Intelligent Invertebrate", which includes observations of octopuses who dismantle Lego sets and open screw-top jars. Coauthor Roland Anderson reports that octopuses even learned to open the childproof caps on Extra Strength Tylenol pill bottles—a feat that eludes many humans with university degrees.

I greatly admire the octopus. He is far superior in many ways than many humans of the Tea Party variety.AN AMERICAN SOLDIERhttps://www.facebook.com/pages/Your-Profile-Picture-The-American-Flag/100688169995023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883838569462983439.post-57732706487055475752013-10-13T17:50:27.154-04:002013-10-13T17:50:27.154-04:00Indeed they would.Indeed they would.Les Carpenterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01120280762698472496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883838569462983439.post-6944353121599464052013-10-13T17:06:48.356-04:002013-10-13T17:06:48.356-04:00Joke all you want but please take note:
