As Infidel753 pointed out, in addition to Christie's left to moderate positions on immigration, gun control, and civil unions, Christie is also a believer in climate change, and not a blind Muslim hater.

Those are all positions NOT favored by the TPers of the GOP.

Lastly, the malcontents of the world are too wrapped up in their hatred to notice that is is Gov. Just read the other day that TP darling, Rick Perry, MANDATED physical activity for all Texas school children. Breitbart for example:

"Conservative media provocateur Andrew Breitbart, speaking to a Tea Party crowd of over 60 people in Lexington, Ma. on Friday, got a little bit carried away with his own patter. He told the crowd that he sometimes thinks to himself, “Fire the first shot” in a hypothetical civil war with liberals, explaining that “We outnumber them in this country, and we have the guns.”

Although Brietbart told the crowd “I’m not kidding,”Shaw Kenawehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08637273000409613497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883838569462983439.post-13603734263083683482011-10-04T11:29:07.961-04:002011-10-04T11:29:07.961-04:00I cannot trust bullies, narcissists and verbal abu...I cannot trust bullies, narcissists and verbal abusers,

Reward your friends and punish your enemies. This is precisely the example I had in mind about verbal abuse, but couldn't recall the exact incident.

Perhaps the woman did not phrase her remark as precisely as she should have. Perhaps what she meant to say was: "You can afford to send your kids to a private school, but I can't, and I am concerned about the quality of MY kids education after your budget cuts."

A more astute person would have understood the woman's concern - would have understood the implications of privilege versus unequal educational opportunity. A kinder person would not have attacked her as viciously as Christie did.

Another example now comes to mind - an interview with a teacher who said that she was purchasing classroom supplies out of her own pocket because her school could no longer afford them. Again, the hothead Governor laced into her.

This is not leadership. This is a man with an anger management problem who unfairly lashes out at people ... good people, people who care about their kids, and care about the jobs they do even to the extent of paying for supplies themselves.

Christie may not be a teabagger but he shares at least one trait in common with them (which I believe is also the source of his popularity within GOP ranks) ... the amount of anger and bombast he brings into our public life. There is no place for this. Doubleplus unpersons. Outta there!

I agree with the commenter who alludes to CC's "blowhard" problem -- I don't mind the guy's bluntness, but at times that quality slides over into something frankly unpleasant. The woman who commented on his kids going to private school, for example, wasn't being offensive but was asking a legitimate question about the governor's support or lack of support for public education. Yet he treated her with anger and contempt. Not an appropriate attitude for a public servant, in my view.bloggingdinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13662019748756311248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883838569462983439.post-17938059998365142362011-10-02T21:58:14.161-04:002011-10-02T21:58:14.161-04:00Having had weight issues in the past I see Octo...Having had weight issues in the past I see Octo's point. As Tom Degan says, he's "ethically challenged" and is probably smart enough to know that every aspect of his past will be examined with a microscope. He's also verbally abusive, but I think a lot of the Tea Party goons like that - especially the women. However, can you imagine that kind of "fuck you" attitude when visiting and negotiating with foreign heads of state?

I agree that he will lose his appeal to the Right Wing as soon as they quit drooling and really take a look at his stand on certain issues.
