Autopsy Findings on Michael Brown

Crisis In Ferguson: Autopsy Shows Mike Brown Was Shot Six Times And Twice In The Head

The results of a private autopsy performed by a doctor on behalf of the family of slain teenager Mike Brown were released Sunday evening. Dr. Michael Baden indicated in his report that Brown was shot six times by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

Two of the gunshots were to the head, including one to the top of the skull. The skullshot was the final one delivered as it was clearly fatal. A gunshot to the top of the head seems to indicate that Brown was leaning down or on his knees when that shot was delivered.

This lends credence to eyewitness accounts that the officer shot Brown execution-style at the end of the confrontation.

Dr. Baden is well-known when it comes to autopsies. He is the former chief medical examiner for New York City. He has performed tens of thousands of autopsies in his career and also reviewed the autopsy records of John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

More on the story from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Nameless Cynic of The Swash Zone has a post up on this tragedy.

So what do you want done? What's next?

Greg, this post isn't about what I want done, this post is about what happened.

So far, the autopsy shows that the victim was shot 6 times, 2 of which were at his head.

No evidence of a struggle.

The policeman who shot him did not know that Brown had previously been involved in an alleged cigar robbery.

Sorry the question was offensive, but we know what happened. Now what do we do about it? So you have nothing constructive to add, just chiming in like everyone else? Fine.

Respectfully Shaw... I am not a fan of autopsy for hire, especially the ones who seem to thrive on celebrity cases, such as Baden.

These are the facts as Baden, a frequent paid witness, has interpreted them.

We will see if in fact they mirror, or call into question, the gov't versions...

Best to wait, at least in my opinion...

Greg, we do not know all the facts about this tragedy. It appears that you've come here with a chip on your shoulder, accusing me of "chiming in" like everyone else because I'm interested in this issue?

Really?

Perhaps you should examine your own motivations.

Dave,

We have to wait for one more autopsy -- the one by the DoJ.

I'm sorry for Michael Brown's family.

The original witness said he was running away, was about 30 ft ahead
and that he was shot in the back, apparently he lied.

So now you will no longer give credence to Dr Baden's conclusions?
You will go by whatever the DOJ comes up with and Dr Baden will no longer be relevant even though you sang him praises in your post?

right shaw...no one knows all the facts...least of all the trolls who come here looking for trouble...

Greg...what should we do? Well we can start with gun control...the mantra,'good guys with guys to stop bad guys with guns' has entrenched a population to think that all folks have guns....including police. We can demilatarise police forces...they have more toys that they are itching to use...and feel the general populace is armed to the teeth.

guns guns guns....we can start there. maybe just reduce it a bit....how about starting there?

My motivation is to see what Ms. Know It All thinks should be the next step. Since we are a nation of laws the answer is obvious, but you refuse to even voice it. You would rather write about law breakers and protesters than what it will take to resolve the problem. Beating the drums, enjoy yourself, but it helps nothing, except maybe to give yourself the false feeling that you are doing something.

This commentary is clearly meant to inflame Shaw.

I read the entire NYT's article of 8/17/14 on this 80 year old forensic pathologist (1 of only 400 board certified pathologists in the USA) and his assistant and the only thibg that is clear is that Brown's head was down, the only way one shot could have penetrated the top of his head.

What is also clear is there were 6 shots that pierced his body, as well as he was UNARMED.
Those TRUTHS, in and themselves are enough to prosecute the police officer for manslaughter if not 2'nd degree murder.

The grandstanding and obvious intent to inflame Shaw is offensive and driven by race based politics.

We do know one fact, according to eye witnesses including brown's partner, he was running away when he was shot.

Where is the outrage in Chicago. How come sharpton is not gathered with crowds of rioters protesting the six murders last weekend.
Why doesn't the president send the AG to Chicago to look into civil rites violations. Why don't the people in the neighborhoods burn and steal from the businesses serving them. After all in Missouri, looting has been deemed OK

Well, Dave, I can agree that it takes some time to settle the forensics in this matter but everything indicates the police have not been up front.

This autopsy (and I'll agree we should also wait for the Federal results) does virtually destroy the assertion that Michael Brown was going for the officer's weapon.

The police have been out of control in this matter and have virtually guaranteed that force would be met with force.

The issue of poorly disciplined policing in minority communities and the danger of a militarized civilian police force are wide open.

Greg and Anonymous @2:19, both of you are trolls and interested in nothing more than baiting and taunting. Plus you both don't have any reading comprehension because I never stated anything you claim I did.

You're trolls and came here with an agenda without bothering to read what I actually wrote.

Anonymous wrote this:

"So now you will no longer give credence to Dr Baden's conclusions?

I never claimed any of what Anon wrote. He/she pulled this supposition from a dark place in his/her rear end, since nothing I wrote comes near that. Anon is a boring troll.

Greg is the same, and Greg is probably Anonymous as well. This is what he wrote:

"My motivation is to see what Ms. Know It All thinks should be the next step. Since we are a nation of laws the answer is obvious, but you refuse to even voice it. Your motivation was to come here and bait and taunt as well. You assign motivations to me that are WRONG, because you came here with an agenda. Plus you're a low-information troll. Go back to your conservative blogs where they kiss your ass.

Surfer Dude, Gred and Anonymous are not interested in a discussion but only in advancing their agendas, which is to attack me.

RN, those two mentioned above are nothing more than flame-throwing trolls not interested in a discussion. Whenever a controversy arrives, people like them come here and set up straw man arguments. They have nothing else.

ralph,

What happened in Ferguson has nothing to do with Chicago. Can you focus on this and not change the subject? Or are you like "Greg" and "Anonymous" just interested in trolling?

Ducky, you're correct. The police in Ferguson have botched this tragedy. And they are trying to make the victim responsible for his own death.

They are gathering evidence. Not jumping to conclusions like all the white liberal agitators do

Powerful article:

Michael Bell’s powerful article on the shooting of his son demonstrates just how hard it is:

"I have known the name of the policeman who killed my son, Michael, for ten years. And he is still working on the force in Kenosha.

Yes, there is good reason to think that many of these unjustifiable homicides by police across the country are racially motivated. But there is a lot more than that going on here. Our country is simply not paying enough attention to the terrible lack of accountability of police departments and the way it affects all of us—regardless of race or ethnicity. Because if a blond-haired, blue-eyed boy — that was my son, Michael — can be shot in the head under a street light with his hands cuffed behind his back, in front of five eyewitnesses (including his mother and sister), and his father was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who flew in three wars for his country — that’s me — and I still couldn’t get anything done about it, then Joe the plumber and Javier the roofer aren’t going to be able to do anything about it either."

looks like the trolls are the ones who don't like what the facts coming out of Ferguson are saying and they're trying to blame shaw for stuff they don't like hearing...plus they can't read.

To another anonymous who can't read or has no ability to understand the written word:

Everything in my post is a quote on a REPORT about the tragedy in Ferguson.

NOTHING in my comment says ANYTHING about a conclusion.

You and your friends Greg and Anonymous #1 are nothing more than illiterate agitators who've come here in ignorance only to stir up trouble.

Anyone with half a brain can see for themselves that there is nothing in my post or my comments that says anything about conclusions.

You, Anon, I'm sorry to say, are a dumbell.

Les Carpenter said...

Correction Shaw, Anon is dumber than a bag of rocks which are dumber even than a dumbbell.

Jerry Critter said...

Shaw,
The fact that trolls come here is a testament to the strength of your writing. Well done, my friend!

Sorry, Sufer Dude, I just realized I included you with Greg and the Anonymice. My mistake. I reread your comment.
