Throws like a girl?

You bet your baseballs!

Meet The 13-Year-Old Girl Who Just Pitched Her Team To The Little League World Series

Mo’Ne Davis struck out six batters and allowed just three hits Sunday in leading Philadelphia’s Taney Youth Baseball Association to a berth in the Little League World Series. But the reason Davis is such a big story coming into this week’s World Series is only partially explained by the batters who keep swinging and missing.

The other reason Davis stands out among the crowd of young ballplayers who will descend on Williamsport, Pennsylvania in the next few days?

She’s a girl.

Davis, a 5-foot-4 eighth grader, boasts a 70 mile-per-hour fastball and induced a game-ending double-play to seal her complete game shutout and Taney’s place in Williamsport.

yayaya.... I saw this on the tube....but can she throw down 16 ounces of beer in 13 seconds like I can? PPPFFFFFTTT, I is no little league drinker!

There are a lot of men who wish they could throw like this girl.

I grew up in the late 40s/early 50s: not only 'girls can't throw', but their sports were
limited to dainty things like
badminton. Now the secret is finally out: they throw like Sandy Koufax!

per Jerry Critter....yes, indeed.

Please ... leave the left handed pitchers on earth like Sandy Koufax and Clayton Kershaw out of this.

For sure Obama must be very envious.

Envious? Why because he throws like a guy and not a girl?

Les Carpenter said...

No, have you seen him throw?

He throws like a girl of the "50" & '60'...

Y'know, Les, I just don't know why you find it necessary to make fun of President Obama by saying he "throws like a girl."

That is something a person who hopes to insult boys or men says.

What it implies is that the worst insult to give to a boy or a man is to claim they're like a girl.

You have a daughter. I wonder how funny she thinks that is.

PS. The president has two daughters and would never demean who they are by implying that what they do in sports or anything else is inferior just because they're girls.

Sensitive aren't we Shaw?

Don't know how my daughter would react to my comment. She would likely agree.

To be more politically correct perhaps I should say the President throws a baseball quite awkwardly. Which is the truth. I've seen him and I played baseball. With both male and female.

BTW, my ex. wife, and mother to my daughter won the senior athletic award in her senior year of high school 1972. In order to be eligible a candidate had to letter in 3 sports. She did in basketball, field hockey, and softball. Had a hell of an overhanded throw.

Whatever happened to levity?

<POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

RN, my reaction has nothing to do with pc. I just don't like to hear girls and women denigrated and saying someone "throws like a girl" is always used to denigrate someone else. Simple as that.

I have a son and a daughter.

So do I Shaw, so do I.

On the PC thing, we shall just have to agree to disagree.

I saw mo'ne an other llws pitchers highlights and would like to note that there fastballs are not coming in at 70 mph. Use common sense the pitches that they throw are breaking like change ups and they are pitching from 48 ft. Not 70 mph!

A lesbian-in the-making no doubt. She looks more like a boy than a girl.

Lesbians and Homosexuals are certainly fully human and deserve to enjoy life to the best of their abilities on an equal plane with everyone else, but there's little doubt that they are structured differently from the rank and file, or don't you agree?

I'm fully aware by the way that bisexuality exists and muddies the waters making it very difficult to draw generalizations that apply across the board, BUT like pornography, while it may be impossible to give it a satisfactory legal definition everyone knows it when confronted with it. And so it is with gay men and lesbians in their more prominent forms.
