Gordon Sondland's Testimony Today

SONDLAND this morning in his testimony: "Was there a quid pro quo? The answer is yes."

Gordon D. Sondland will testify that he pressured Ukraine for investigations at President Trump’s “express direction,” and with signoff from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The ambassador also says he raised concerns with Mike Pence about an apparent linkage between Ukraine’s military aid and the investigations.

This is amazing! As a kind man, I hope the underside of a bus tastes like cheeseburgers for the orange blob who just got thrown way under a bus. Clearly, Sondland decided that he wanted no part of going to prison for perjury and he's laying it all out there. He really really doesn't like Rudy Julie-Annie.

Y E O W !! Let the Senate fail to convict Trump; IF you want your legacy to be cemented to the most corrupt administration in history, if you desire to be reviled for your infamy, then let Trump remain POTUS, members of the Senate.
Remember, the Brown Smelly Squishy stuff rolls downhill, picks up speed, and redecorates the room when it gets to the bottom..

Sondland sings so well....How now, Filthy GOP liars? How you gonna spin THIS one?
Grombo the Magicial Troll, from the Enchanted Hill, in Neverwhere, the Magical World? Does he play into this, too?
I think you'll have to wash your hands after trying to spin this one, because sh*t stains something awful, and the smell...
Dang, Shaw..You must be feeling like Casssandra....

Neal Katyal, former acting Solicitor General of the United States:

Trump's defense has entirely collapsed. It's clear he committed a grave impeachable offense, even according to hiw own witnesses. There is no choice but to impeach and remove Trump.

The Senate Republicans won't find Trump guilty because they're cowardly accomplices to this criminal POTUS. But Trump WILL BE IMPEACHED and that will be next to his name forever.

Remember when this story broke and some pundits said it was going to hurt Joe Biden the most?

I do.

I also remember reading the WYD yahoos saying Obama, Hillary and Biden were going to be caught up for being criminals and be sent to jail. Yeah. They all believe that and that's why Trump still has support with 30 percent of the public, there are that many dumbasses who live in an alternate universe and facts and truth are no part of it. They really are cultist Shaw, you've nailed it all along. That's the only way to explain the Trumpers still supporting this mob boss in the WH.

Damn them all to hell and back for supporting the destruction of America.

There you have it. Gordon Sondland has blown this thing wide open.

This is irrefutable proof of a wide-ranging conspiracy to solicit a bribe and to extort Ukraine all directed by the POTUS.

Game over.

IMPEACH THE BASTARD!

Dave Miller said...

Unfortunately, I think America should start preparing for a post impeachment world where Donald Trump is still president.

The Senate is not going to drop him unless and until the GOP base says to do so and that is not gonna happen.

So how will they respond to Pres DJT saying he was exonerated and found innocent of all the witch hunt charges?

Only thing left now is: To drink or not drink the Kool-Aid? To follow Fearless Leader, all the way into the bunker, or not?
To take/swallow the Red pill, or the Black Pill?
The water is rising inside the trumpship, do you dash for an open door, and jump into a lifeboat, or...stay, sweetly singing, as the waves of the ocean come up, and over the side, you hear the deep creak the metal plates as water rushes into areas where "isn't supposed to be!!" and the screams of those, now trapped in steerage, silenced, as the water rushes in, rushes in...
Do you stand on the deck, and leap into the sea for your life, or...watch the rats and various rodents scurry out the holes, onto the decks in frenzied panic, going back and forth so rapidly, so scared, So Scared for their lives!! so scared...

and the deck tilts, crazily, upwards, towards the fading sun, you hear, in a former President's voice..."The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice”...as the hungry, dark water runs towards you, feeling your feet wet, and then, the cold...the cold.....You have a thought flash through your mind...That this....This....was The Wrong Choice.....and he, Trump....Was The Wrong Man......and then the water covers you, and all you can see are air bubbles, rising upwards, upwards...Your hands, still tightly clenched around your firearm, but the bubbles are so pretty as they rise, rise....then, coldness, then...darkness...then... . .

The usual right wing bloggers are real quiet today or talking about anything except the shitstorm that Sondland unleashed on Trump and fellow felons this morning. LOLOLOLOL!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, the better question is how will Republicans EVER claim any moral authority on ANYTHING if they fail to impeach a POTUS who engaged in bribery and extortion in order to benefit himself, while using American taxpayers' money as the bait.

The Republicans will cover themselves in infamy if they allow Trump to not pay the righteous penalty for his crimes in office.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Anonymous. very poetic and moving.

But I see very little chance that the Trumpers will ever desert their cult leader. They'll go down with him into the abyss. History will mock them for eternity.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dr.Tomato, They are the typical Monkey see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Sondland fingered the whole rotten lot of them. And those bloggers will continue to believe Trump's lies. There's no hope for those people. Leave them to their delusions.

Shaw, the question of morality will haunt the GOP for a generation. No longer can they credibly claim that morality leads to better leadership. No longer can they claim to speak for defenseless children. No longer can they credibly claim the mantle of the "Party of God." No longer can they rail against politicians who are not truthful. No longer can they tell people not to use profane language, curse words, or any other language that maybe offensive. No longer can they say they believe it is wrong to mock disabled people. No longer can they claim to be the party of fiscal responsibility. No longer can they say tax cuts pay for themselves.

This list goes on and on.

The rank and file, along with GOP Congressmen and Senators have no idea what they will face moving forward.

Donald Trump may indeed have given the GOP what they wanted, but the rest of the bargain has destroyed them.

Les Carpenter said...

Trump should be impeached AND removed. In retrospect Nixon was a mere piker compared to Trump's criminal behavior relative to Ukraine.

The Senate won't remove and there is the possibility Trump could be reelected. If that happens having impeached linked to his name won't mean much really.

Hoping for the RIGHT outcome but planning that the WRONG outcome will be our reality..

The case is simple, and the evidence supporting impeachment is now crystal clear.

Laura Cooper, a deputy assistant secretary at the State Department, revealed in bombshell testimony on Wednesday evening that Ukrainian officials inquired about the frozen US security aid on July 25.

Cooper said she recently became aware of two previously unreported emails showing Ukrainian officials and the House Foreign Affairs Committee asking about $391 million in frozen US military aid to Ukraine.

The first was received on July 25 at 2:31 p.m. That email said "the Ukrainian embassy and the House Foreign Affairs Committee are asking about security assistance," Cooper testified.
The second email was sent at 4:25 p.m. and said, "that the Hill knows about the [frozen military funds] situation to an extent, and so does the Ukrainian embassy."

Ms Shaw, Everything is a bombshell according to MSDNC but when is it going to go off. They need to stop this circus, vote impeachment and move on. I don't think either party is doing themselves any good by continuing this every day all day show of how incompetent our representatives are. They are proving live on TV how the only thing that matters is them and their bloviating for the world to see. Trump was guilty from the day of the election three years ago the democrats just didn't know of what, yet. Now they have something to hang their hat on so they need to do their job, vote impeachment which they will and prove once and for all how incompetent they are.
No one died from his actions which is something you can't say about the previous three presidents.

Actually you want this to be over so America won't have to listen, day after day, to dedicated career officials testify to what a despicable, lying, cheating crook Donald Trump is. I get it. I feel your and every other GOPer's discomfort with the realization that they support a terrible man whose only interest is how to enrich himself and his family.

Trunmp has been a liar and a cheat all his life and GOPers like you decided that a man with no morals or values or honor would make a great president, better than HER!

Well, look at what your choice has given America: 3 years of scandals, stupidity, outrageous lies and daily embarrassments by this thoroughly unfit morally and mentally diseased man has given us.

How blithely you dismiss all of this by falsely claiming "no one died" so Trump's venality, dishonesty, mendacity, and moral turpitude doesn't matter. Dear Gawd!

However, you are wrong. Men, women, and children have died. Your excuse "no one died" is shocking to me, even though I read such repulsive excuses every day on far right news sites (Breitbart) and syncophatic blogs. You and they are determined to NOT see what is in front of your noses.

skudrunner said...

Ms Shaw, Did you really mean to say dedicated career officials or was that a misprint. I think you do believe the government and our elected elite do what is best for all instead of what is best for them. What have they done about infrastructure improvements, comprehensive immigration reform, investigating government waste, tax reform. Zippo is the answer.

You are correct I am getting tired of the show just as I was tired of the show about the serial rapist. 3 Years of scandals brought to you by botox Nan and this is the first thing they have found to take it full tilt. If I remember W started a war that killed people, clinton bombed an aspirin factory killing innocent people, and of course the swell guy and his minion were responsible for killing 4 dedicated career officials and a border guard. So much for clean hands.

Being willfully blind to facts (the truth) is one of some American conservatives/republicans more prevalent characteristics. And man do they work HARD at spinning the narrative to fit their delusions. A dangerous situation for the country to say the least.

I'm reminded of a certain very dark period of modern history.

skud: "I think you do believe the government and our elected elite do what is best for all instead of what is best for them."

You obviously didn't watch the State Department diplomats testify. Or Lt.Col. Lindman. You have a cynical view of these dedicated people who've served both Republican and Democratic administrations and work for the good of America. Yet you still belong to a party that supports a venal man who doesn't make a move unless it benefits him or his family?

The House Democrats have passed OVER 100 bills addressing the subjects you commented on and Moscow Mitch refuses to bring any of them up for a vote. Again, your willful ignorance of what goes on in front of your nose is appalling. Apparently it's much easier to denigrate and insult people than find out the truth. That's how your president operates.

You're obviously don't know about this:

The Trump administration informed congressional committees that it will go ahead with 22 military sales to the Saudis, United Arab Emirates and Jordan, infuriating lawmakers by circumventing a long-standing precedent for congressional review of major weapons sales.

Members of Congress had been blocking sales of offensive military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for months, angry about the huge civilian toll from their air campaign in Yemen, as well as human rights abuses such as the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at a Saudi consulate in Turkey.

“President Trump is only using this loophole because he knows Congress would disapprove ... There is no new ‘emergency’ reason to sell bombs to the Saudis to drop in Yemen, and doing so only perpetuates the humanitarian crisis there,” said Senator Chris Murphy.

Murphy, a Democrat, made public on Twitter on Wednesday that Trump was considering the loophole in the Arms Control Export Act to clear the sales.

Several of Trump’s fellow Republicans, as well as Democrats, said they would object to such a plan, fearing that blowing through the “holds” process would eliminate Congress’ ability to check not just Trump but future presidents from selling weapons where they liked.

Representative Mike McCaul, the top Republican on the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, said the administration’s action was “unfortunate” and likely to damage future White House interactions with Congress.

In case you hadn't heard, thousands of people die in Yemen and Donald Trump sold weapons to the country that's doing the killing.

SO YOUR CLAIM that no one died, is false.

Shaw Kenawe said...

RN, "Willfully blind." That's skud's middle name.

skudrunner said...

Ms Shaw, There is no interaction with congress and that is the problem because they have spent all their efforts on impeachment knowing full well it will not happen in both houses so he will not be thrown out. This is just political grandstanding just like the impeachment hearings of the serial rapist. I know what we should do, give billions to a country trying to develop nuclear weapons and has a hate America Policy. Why would we support allies in the region because it is much better to support enemy's.

As to holding up bills passed by the house, no one can hold a candle to slimy reid and his obstructionist leader.

Talk about willfully blind.

Les Carpenter said...

Let me guess skudrunner, you probably thought Watergate was "grandstanding" as well.
