THE SWASH ZONE has this embarrassing visual from FOX News

up on its blog along with a very good post.  I've already documented other egregious mistakes and deceptions we've seen on FOX News, this is just the latest and most embarrassingly hilarious.  If you're getting your "news and information" from FOX, you're getting unfair and imbalanced dumbed down dreck .

I still don't know why so many people continue to watch a cable station that deliberately deceives its audience and can't even manage to have its researchers do 5th grade math.  Remember this when FOX brags about being Number One in the ratings--think of what the IQs must be of those who get their "information and news" from this third-rate cable station.  Heh.

From Talking Points Memo:

After a rash of mistakes and apologies over the past weeks, Fox News has sent a memo to employees announcing a new "zero tolerance" policy for on-screen errors.

FishBowlDC
obtained the memo, sent last Friday, which warns mistakes could lead to written warnings, suspensions and termination.

"Please know that jobs are on the line here. I can not stress that enough," the memo reads.
Fox has had three much-noticed errors in the past few weeks. First, Sean Hannity used misleading footage to beef up attendance numbers at a Capitol Hill tea party rally -- an incident that caught the attention of the Daily Show's Jon Stewart, forcing Hannity to apologize on air.

Then, last week, one of the midday news shows aired footage of an old Sarah Palin campaign rally to show the "crowds" at her current book tour. An anchor apologized a day later, and Fox blamed a "production error."

Finally, in another segment about Palin's book, the network showed the cover of a satire book called "Going Rouge" instead of her actual memoir, "Going Rogue."

  2. You get this thing due to our dismal education system.

Did you know that half of school students are below average? Shocking! I expect Obama to solve this problem by the end of his second or third term.

  3. Beth,

    DID YOU SAY BRIBERY?

    Hey, don't forget this:

"The Medicare Prescription Drug Bill Vote Scandal, 2003 began to unfold in December 2003. Major journalistic investigation and reporting on this issue came from Timothy Noah for Slate (MSN).

On June 23, 2004, Public Citizen released a study noting that:

Drug Industry and HMOs Deployed an Army of Nearly 1,000 Lobbyists to Push Medicare Bill
Special Interests Spent $141 Million in 2003, Hired 431 Lobbyists With "Revolving Door" Connections to Congress and the White House
"The revolving door between the White House and K Street has made the Bush administration indistinguishable from the industry," said Craig Aaron, senior researcher for Public Citizen's Congress Watch and lead author of the report.
"If it wasn't bad enough that most of the key negotiators working on the Medicare bill were preparing to cash in on K Street as soon as it passed, Bush has brought in more drug industry and HMO insiders to implement and promote this disastrous new law."

If the current legislation doesn't pass then guess what the senator from Louisana gets? Nothing!

But no one has bribery down pat like the folks on the right...

You all got it to a science!

  5. Beth,

What the hell does Reid and "Senator Louisiana" [never heard of Senator Louisiana] have to do with the sloppy, deceptive, and idiotic work that is FOX News?

Wait. I'll answer my own question:

    NOTHING.

I'm just making a guess here, but I'll bet you watch and accept everything you hear on FOX News.

    dmarks,

Correct. In math and science, we are below the third world country Jordan. This explains why FOX News is so popular. Look at that pie chart. 193% of Republians!

Obama can't solve that much stupid.

And Beth, TAO makes your disconnected rant look silly.

  10. Actually what one gets from 'our dismal education system' is support for the notion of Sarah Palin as a serious candidate for President.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm surprised no one's tried to claim that the errors are due to a liberal infiltration/sabotage designed to make them look stupid.

"Fair and Balanced". Any news station that has to preach that 24/7 is trying to convince their viewers.

I don't buy it. And have you heard about the Fox sportscasters suspended for racist comments about the Iranian player in the NBA?

    ReplyDelete
  12. SDD: A station/network that quickly suspends them comes out looking good. Problems like that happen... the differences all come out in how the station handles it. Now, if Fox tried to keep them on and defend them for a while, then they would look pretty bad.

So, how did Fox handle it?

  14. Don't worry. That same poll had Obama with 96% of the voters supporting him. But that number wasn't on the pie chart. Those sly FOXES.

  15. I find it amusing that all you folks are a jitter over a mistake in a poll graphic and still can't get Mrs. Palin out of your minds while unemployment of all types nears 20%.

    A poll to ponder.

Just how is that hope and change workin out for ya?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Fox News has sent a memo to employees announcing a new "zero tolerance" policy for on-screen errors.

Isn't that sort of like a cigarette company announcing a zero-tolerance policy for carcinogens in its products?

Wow, we haven't heard THAT one before. It's working out just fine for anyone who has an attention span longer than 5 minutes and who realize that fixing a colossal mess doesn't take a few months.

Sorry I know you want us all to say we made a horrible mistake for voting for him but I still support him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have one simple question:

For all those folks who want to know how those of us, who voted for Obama, feel now...

Well, as soon as I hear one conservative apologize for supporting GWB and acknowledging that that they did in fact vote for him and that their vote was a disaster...

Well, then they can ask me about my support of Obama..

Have not HEARD one thing from the right on that one!

Of course they will go on and on about how similar Bush and Obama were which just translates into: "since I voted for bush twice I should have logically voted for Obama..."

    But they won't see that...

All they see is, "Thank God my candidate lost! Whew! Its not my fault!"

So, go ahead Jim....apologize for voting for Bush twice...go on...

    ReplyDelete
  19. JIM: "I find it amusing that all you folks are a jitter over a mistake in a poll graphic and still can't get Mrs. Palin out of your minds while unemployment of all types nears 20%."

We understand that the unemployment numbers are still not good. My friends over at The Swash Zone have reported on this.

What we DO understand, as TAO pointed out, is that the worst financial meltdown since the 1930s will not get better in less than a year!

And we also understand that the Republicans were in charge of this country for 28 out of the last 40 years--so a lot of what has happened did not happen overnight and was not entirely the Democrats' fault, nor in anyway anything Mr. Obama did.

So far, all the Republicans have to offer is this:

tax cuts (Bush tried that for 8 years and it didn't work0

reducing entitlements (during a recession, do you believe reducing Medicare and Social Security benefits is a wise thing to do?)

Deregulate (been there; done that--ask Goldman Sacks)

Both Reps AND Dems have culpability in the messes we are in--the two wars and the financial meltdown.

What is difficult to understand is the number of people who believe the solutions to those monumental problems is to call Mr. Obama a Marxist, Socialist, Communist, demand to see his birth certificate, and compare his wife to a monkey.

When the Republicans come up with solid ideas on health care and the other horrendous problems Mr. Obama is facing, I'll listen.

The last thing we need to hear is that he hasn't solved these problems since last January 20.

BTW, a president doesn't really have control on how the stock market behaves, but apparently the mood of the country in that area, anyway, is hopeful. The stock market has performed very well.

Don't be like the child who is in the back seat of the family car just backing out of the driveway and whining "Are we there yet?"

  20. Isn't it funny how they can call Sarah Palin every name in the book, but when it comes to this political whore she's all of a sudden the blessed virgin. Mary Landrieu, Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, ad infinitum they're all whores! The three hundred million promised is the taxpayers money. They are bribing the woman with the taxpayers money. She is even too stupid to keep her mouth shut, she had to announce her price tag and be proud of it.
What a despicable piece of trash.

  21. I'm not looking for apologies. Couldn't care less how you voted. Sorry if you feel you must now find a reason to defend it.

Mr. Obama has spent near 2.5 TRILLION dollars and that in his first year in office, more than any other president. One can't spend oneself out of poverty.

Isn't about time to discuss Mr. Obama's policies in a more critical view or must we constantly look backward at Mr. Bush?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Shaw: "reducing entitlements (during a recession, do you believe reducing Medicare and Social Security benefits is a wise thing to do?)"

How old are you? You actually are shocked by this?

Both parties have been wheeling and dealing like this FOREVER!

Are you just now learning about it?

BTW, when you come here to make a point, you'd be better off showing your erudition by NOT calling women and other politicians whores.

I don't like Palin's politics, but nowhere on this site do I refer to her with that sexist, anti-woman epithet.

Women shouldn't call other women [or men] whores because of policy differences.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jim: One of Mr. Obama's biggest mistakes is to shrug off the "jobs jobs jobs!" idea. Or, as Carville put it "It's The Economy Stupid". It's on his priority list, but it is probably #3 or #4. A huge proportion of Americans want it to be #1..... and that's a bipartisan (or nonpartisan) proportion. He has less than a year to reorganize his priorities, or his party will get trounced in next years' election.

Politically, I don't use that word except when quoting the title of a P.J. O'Rourke book I read ages ago. And that book is so old, I hardly ever mention it. And come to think of it, I don't use the word elsewhere, either.

For better or worse, "My Thoughts" has brought into these comments a discussion of whether or not Sarah Palin is one. I'm not sure that was his/her intent...

  27. Jim, according to economists, Mr. Obama's spending has saved this country from a depression. Would you have liked to see us in a worse financial mess than we have now?

Don't believe me? Here are some sites to back this up.

Tell us all what YOU think the Republicans would have done to save an economy the size of the US's and prevent a worse financial crisis.

According to what is listed in the sites I've given above, investing the money in the US has had a beneficial effect.

And yes, we MUST look at what Bush did during his last 8 years--cut taxes during TWO wars--unprecedented in American history, and the war financing was done off budget, also insane.

  28. SOURCE

"With two full years of experience waging war in Iraq, President George W. Bush should have some idea of how much it will cost to continue the fight next year.

But when he submitted his 2006 budget to Congress in February, it didn't contain one penny for combat in Iraq or Afghanistan. Sunny optimist that he is, Bush wasn't operating on the assumption that the mission would actually be accomplished by then.

Instead, Bush insisted it would be impossible to know how much would be needed, so instead of including anything in the regular budget, he plans to continue the tradition of coming to Congress for emergency supplemental appropriations when war funds get low.

Coincidentally, that approach has the side effect of making the federal budget deficit appear smaller than it actually is. Far smaller, considering that spending in Iraq has averaged more than $5 billion a month.

Shortly after he submitted his 2006 budget, Bush went to Congress to ask for $82 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (most of which was for Iraq).

So far, Bush has asked for, and received, about $350 billion for combat and reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even in a federal budget measured in the trillions of dollars, that's a substantial amount to keep off the budget.

Congress is showing increasing signs of impatience with such irresponsible bookkeeping. After Bush submitted his 2006 budget, U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-W.V., persuaded his colleagues to pass a resolution calling for the war funding to be included in the regular budget.

"The president will not tell the American people what the war in Iraq will cost," Byrd said. "By understating the deficits, the American people are being led down a primrose path. That is dishonesty."

The U.S. House appears ready to include $45 billion to fund the wars in its regular spending bills for next year. The Senate is likely to do the same, even without a request from the Pentagon.

If Bush won't honestly budget for the cost of these wars, Congress is right to do it for him.

The war in Iraq has a real cost, and a real impact on the federal deficit. Budgeting for that cost should not be an impossible task.

In fact, it's the least the nation should expect from the president who got us into this mess to begin with."

  29. I'm not schooled well enuff in economics to bore you all with my profound knowledge of same. However, I do know what happens at my house and it ain't pretty. Just extend your own home budget to the general government and you will get the idea.

There were two areas where I disagreed with Mr. Bush vehemently, the bail outs and open border policies. They were IMHO huge mistakes.

My suggestion to you SK is to study the Weimar government in Germany between the two World Wars.

It would have been somewhat better to have taken our lumps last year and let the car makers and financial houses fail. What is going to happen in the near future with the total collapse of our money will be much much worse. IMHO

  30. "There were two areas where I disagreed with Mr. Bush vehemently, the bail outs and open border policies. They were IMHO huge mistakes."

Politicians, mostly Democrats, loved the no-strings attached bailouts.. Bush, Obama, and McCain approved them. Yet, most Democrats AND Republicans out here in the "Real world" that I run into think they were a bad idea.

Immigrants on the balance improve the economy, so it is conceivable that the economic problems would have been worse if the borders had been sealed tighter than a drum.

  31. Ah, dmarks...your buddies the illegal mexican immigrants are actually returning to Mexico in greater numbers than they are coming here...

That tells me all I need to know!

Now, since Jim has totally danced around his voting for GWB twice! Which is something that is quite common in conservative circles today...

I will say, Jim, I agree with you! We should have let the financial markets fail, let our industry fall and just stood around on street corners selling apples and or looking for handouts...and we should have forced GWB to stay in office!

I was all for the democrats pulling out of the election of 2008 and letting the Republicans WIN IT ALL totally uncontested!

Had I been Howard Dean that would have been my strategy!

It would have been so great to listen to Fox News and conservatives all go off blaming GWB for everything now! I would have loved to hear McCain and Palin go on and on about how GWB caused all these problems!

I even prayed that at the last minute Obama and Biden would not show up for their swearing in...

Even you have to acknowledge that Bush and Paulsen sure were in a hurry to get the hell out of office over the last couple of months!

Of course the transition went smooth and their was alot of cooperation....good lord the bush administration was in such a hurry to get out of town they were ready to turn things over to anybody by about November of 2008.

But then again, by now Sarah Palin would have quit the VP job....Lord knows why...maybe because McCain yelled at her.....or somebody in the media got on her nerves...

Yes, it would have been a great show!

But you are right, we should have let everything come crashing down and let it stay that way for awhile (the stock market crashed in 1929 and FDR took office in 1932...so the country had 2 plus years of enjoying the do nothing philosophy which we did not get to experience this go round...)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tao said: "Ah, dmarks...your buddies the illegal mexican immigrants are actually returning to Mexico in greater numbers than they are coming here..."

Maybe time to seal the borders now? ha. Seriously, that will be a measure of a "turning point" when they come back.

"Had I been Howard Dean that would have been my strategy!"

A strategy no doubt topped by him blowing his stack and bellowing in an incoherent rage.

"But then again, by now Sarah Palin would have quit the VP job....Lord knows why...maybe because McCain yelled at her.....or somebody in the media got on her nerves..."

That's a great point, really. The "oh. someone said bad stuff about me!" that made her quit in Alaska would have been nothing compared to what she would have faced in Washington. So, how long would she have stayed as VP? Would she have lasted even to the end of January?

  33. dmarks: "Bush, Obama, and McCain approved them. Yet, most Democrats AND Republicans out here in the "Real world" that I run into think they were a bad idea."

You and Palin? She made a similar remark while campaigning in Virginia, outside of the city limits, and declared that was the "real America."

Let's stop that nonsense once and for all. If I were to make the claim that the people I spoke to on Mass. Avenue, Cambridge, Mass., were the "real Americans" living in the "Real world," conservatives' heads would explode.

Yet people who live in Cambridge, Mass., and in San Francisco, CA, are as real as any other American in any other city.

It was extremely ELITIST of Palin to make that statement. What makes her the authority on what is a "real" area of this great and varied country and who the "real Americans" are?

[I'm guess dmarks was being ironic and didn't actually mean what he wrote. But I do know that Palin and the conservatives she represents believe that any group not like them is not a "real" American group, and large coastal cities [where incidential most of our American population resides] are not the "real" America.

Talk about monumental snobbism and anti-intellectualism.

PS. Most of the Americans where I live--in a densely populated area of the country, believe that what Obama did was the correct thing to do.

And I consider these Americans in this American city "real" Americans.

    ReplyDelete
  34. shaw said: "You and Palin? She made a similar remark while campaigning in Virginia, outside of the city limits, and declared that was the "real America."

It brings it back on topic, but I was not referring to, or quoting Palin on this. I was referring to the strong feeling against the bailouts that I have seen in "real world" friends, and also in conservative AND liberal blogs.

Here is one of the many polls which showed the public's problem with the bailouts. A problem the public had, but Bush and Congress did not.

"Yet people who live in Cambridge, Mass., and in San Francisco, CA, are as real as any other American in any other city."

Sorry, Shaw. You chased down the wrong road on this one. I was referring to a disconnect between Washington, where the bailouts were pretty popular, and everywhere else (which probably includes Cambridge) where they weren't. Any resemblance to Palin's amplification of redstate vs bluestate differences is coincidental.

Palin, as it happens, was part of the McCain-Palin ticket, was on the pro-bailout side.

"PS. Most of the Americans where I live--in a densely populated area of the country, believe that what Obama did was the correct thing to do."

Are you referring to the Bush bailout, at least initially. Which Obama happened to have supported. Are you referring to this, or the later bailouts that Obama signed after Bush left?

  36. Speaking of 'our dismal education system'. Yet another failure is the seeming inability to convey the simplest economic principles. Even, it appears, at the college level.

Now it may be gratifying on some level of lazy-thought to consider the federal budget simply as a household budget writ gigantic but it just isn't so.

But then in a country where people are in thrall to a political figure because 'she's just like us' it isn't surprising.

Sure and you can't get something for nothing - nor can you sound intelligent by give us folksy homilies that aren't actually true.

How "jittery" did the peanut gallery get when unemployment was reaching for 20% under Saint Ronald the Faultless? Unemployment is not a leading indicator and is slowest to rise in a recovery. Those countries with the most liberal stimulus packages seem to be furthest out of the mess. Some of you Foxsuckers might want to explore the difference between investment and spending as well.

  38. Another failure of 'our dismal education system' is that people who watched Sean Hannity interview Lynn Perino yesterday will believe this tidbit she upchucked during a 'discussion' of the 'war on terror'.

Perino: We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term. I hope they're not looking at this politically. I do think that we owe it to the American people to call it what it is.

  40. We follow the capitalistic process of foreclosing on individuals and letting them fall into bankruptcy. A sad but natural process of capitalism.
Yet we do not follow the natural capitalistic process when it comes to corporations. We intervene and artificially prop up (bailout) their financial situation under the idea that they are "to big to fail."
Where is our conviction in our capitalistic system? Do we have confidence in the idea that a different group of investors would step in and meet the financial needs of the society and not make the mistakes of the corporations that created the problem?
If the mistakes of the financial corporation were so negligent as to bring on the situation, do we really want to save them to continue that kind of financial management into the future?
One would think not. So why did we save their asses, and let the people end up in the streets?
The financial corporations take the public money, make their businesses financially healthy, write off their losses, own the foreclosed individual properties, and sell those properties later for another profit.
The stock market has been on the rise since the bailouts, and so has personal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and unemployment.
It is not the capitalists way, or the American way, to save corporations at all costs.
In the true sense of capitalism, corporations must be allowed to fail just as individuals.
Sure, there would have been more pain if these corporations had failed, but capitalism gets ugly when the economy tanks. That's natural.
It would also (hopefully) change the management practices of financial corporations in the future. You know, learn from mistakes.

When we can say Sarah Palin and Michell Bachmann are the most popular politicians of their party, we can say that it's a sad revelation about a political party and the thinking of those that make them the most popular.
It is sad that so many Americans can be duped. A mass con job by not very talented con men (women).
Why do we put up with in our politicians, that which we would never put up with in our civilians?
If Palin, or Bachmann had given those kind of answers in a job interview to be a teacher, they would have been laughed out of the office.
Yet we are willing to pay them 100's of thousands of dollars for their kind of thinking, and pay our teachers 50 thousand, maybe.

    Beth said...

You know what Shaw, both you and Satyavati devi dasi, need to get your priorities straight. You both are living in a dream world.
Whether Obama is a Muslim or not, I’m still not convinced that he’s not. It is clear that the Muslim world considers him a Muslim because he has three Arab names and a Muslim father. This automatically makes him a Muslim in the eyes of other Muslims. That brings us to another problem. If he is indeed a Christian, as he claims, then he will be viewed as an "apostate" to his Islamic faith and the only punishment fitting that "crime" is beheading. What kind of "talks" will Obama be able to have with Muslim whackos if they want to cut off his head?
Barack Obama is a socialist who studied and practiced the works and ideas of known communist Saul Alinsky. He wants to nationalize everything. Under an Obama presidency, we will lose the freedom to govern ourselves. We will be told what doctor to go to, what surgery is approved, how many babies to have, what kind of job you can have....the list goes on. Read anything Ayn Rand ever wrote to see for yourself how socialism turns out for "the people". (And if you didn't know, Rand escaped from communist Russia so she knew of what she spoke intimately.)
Speaking of babies, Barack Obama wants to kill infants who survive abortions. And I don't mean euthanize them quickly, I mean leave them in a broom closet to die gasping for air. He voted 4 times against a bill to protect these incredibly vulnerable children. We need a president who has more respect for life, not less.
Do you like your ability to speak your mind? Sand I know from reading this “hideous” blog that you do! Not under this Obama presidency. I am certain the Fairness Doctrine will resurface and will pass and that will be the end of all conservative talk on the radio, and I’m sure you would just love that! And also on tv and on the blogs. That means me. I could, and probably would, be arrested for some trumped up charge like "hate speech" because of MY blog.... Trust me, they will do this. Have you been to a college campus lately? There are "speech codes" enforced by leftist administrations. They silence only conservative thought. But if you are a liberal, you may shout from the rooftops any amount of degrading, disgusting material you want including pornography and anti-Christian slurs. God-forbid, if you are a Christian conservative on a campus today, you should keep your mouth shut about your views on morality or you will be kicked out of school, or worse, sued. Listen to shows like Glenn Beck’s who I know that you despise, but listen and lern... for details on this disturbing trend.
Barack Hussein Obama does not believe this is a great country. He is constantly saying we are not "who we should be" or who we could be. What??? Mr. Obama, I still live in the greatest country on earth. Do you know how I know this? Everyone from everywhere else, is literally dying to come here (shipping themselves in containers, battling sharks on an inner tube, forging across the Rio Grande) and NO ONE is trying to leave not even spoiled Hollywood celebrities, like Obama’s beloved Oprah, and the other CREEPS who keep threatening to go like Madonna, Barbara Streisand, Matt Damon, Sandra Bernhardt, Oprah and Rosie O'Donnell who think Obama is the best thing since sliced bread, but never do.

Beth, don't you have a turkey to roast?

How immature and tasteless this blog is Shaw! WHY is it that you NEVER say anything negative about the Liberals that continuously screw up, like David Letterman! David Letterman, who is a disgusting old fart and a dirty old man.. And since when is it funny to make disgusting sexual jokes about any female regardless of their age? Maybe it’s time for your network to retire you also. If I were Sarah Palin, I would settle for nothing less that a public apology on your show. Come out and show us what your made of, if you have the guts to do so. I doubt he would have the guts to make a joke about Obama’s hateful toward America’s wife. The public loves to hear vile comments about anyone, and it is obvious how public sentiment is steered by ass-holes like Dave Letterman.
John Kerry's Drunken Daughter gets busted and she is given a free pass. The Libs..cannot stand the thought of losing to a True American in 2012 So they are afraid Sarah will defeat the Muslim President in 2012 !!! The Obama honeymoon is coming to an end. Your Party is weakening, cracking and losing "HOPE"...
Ah yes, the re-birth of the Conservatives in the new millennium !!!
    How's THAT for "Change" ?

Beth! You're really on a roll today!

It's funny. Some hypocrite Liberal accused me of calling my friends in for a 'rave swarm' on one of his comments a few days ago, then he blocked me. It's obvious by looking at what's happening on this post that Liberals think it's okay for them to do what they ACCUSE others of doing! I'm so sick of their childish and shallow attacks and name-calling! They all need a mental checkup!

Do I think liberals are evil? Some, yes, because they are playing people to gain power. Liberals like Shaw, TAO, and Saty, however, they are not evil, just very misguided and perhaps sick... We have tried to use logic and reason with these people but it doesn't work. They need to be reprogrammed or something. We need to knock some sense into these people!

If we truly want to be friends with these liberals, we need to save them from themselves. Yes, it is for our benefit as well if we succeed, because our nation prospers when we all assume personal responsibility and work hard to succeed.

  51. Beth,

You've had your say. Your last comment was a racist anti-Muslim rant that would have made any brown shirt proud to have composed.

You are the one who needs help.

Anyone that full of hate and bile needs to look within herself to find the source of it.

You will NOT be allowed to spread your lies, prejudices, hatred, and putrid anger against Muslims on my blog.

    Stay away from here.

  52. If Beth returns, she'd do well to educate herself on Muslims' contributions to America.

She wrote some embarrassingly stupid lies about them in the comment I deleted.

Here's the history of Muslims in America.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well really, that's very passionate if tendentious, not quite logical and a slap inthe face to Jesus -- but I'm always so impressed by the hatred that pours out of Christians. Is there really anything more to it but an organized hate system? Has it ever been otherwise?

More Muslims were killed on the ground in New York than were on those planes. The "Pilgrims" didn't found this country and only a handful of us descend from them - so what's your point?

Christians were solidly behind slavery, you know, biblical justification and all and there is no crime against humanity that Christians have not participated in and often to a greater degree than Muslims. So shall I construct a false syllogism and blame you and your sorry, lying, hypocritical kind for the death of millions? Christians cheered while millions burned. You're a Christian, you're evil QED?

So anyway, if you want to talk about specific enemies of the US, talk about enemies of the US, not about a religion that pervades may countries that have political grievances against us rightly or wrongly - and by the way did you cry when Bush murdered thousands in their homes in Baghdad? I thought not. So remind me, how are you better?

If you really want to talk to people who will jump on your hate-wagon with all the other screaming demons it's going to be slim pickin's here.

  54. Bravo Capt Fogg .. So you are anti-Christian, is that what bugs you so much? The truth will set you free. So please try a little bit more to be consistent and just come out and say what you mean...if you can't be clear, then don’t beat around the bush.
Maybe you could adopt a kinder, gentler tone. I suggest “Pre-post Traumatic Stress Islamic Victim”. That would pass muster.
If a Muslim wants to be true to his religion we must deport them. If they get a free ticket to heaven by killing us infidels then they need to live in a Muslim country and not in the united states. I am really tired of this excuse that he was under stress. If that scumbag Hasan was under so much stress then he should go live in the Muslim world. I am really Getting really sick of the way this Administration tries to whitewash everything Muslim. Using stupid cutesy phrases like man made disasters instead of calling it terrorism is laughable. Obama is not going to change his ways or methods so we had better be extra cautious as these terror loving types infiltrate our everyday world. Treating that freaken Muslim KILLER Hasan as if he’s mentally ill as opposed to a clear sighted Jihadi conforming to Allah’s wishes is more a sign of our own mental illness.
The issue is not whether Islam is “peaceful.” Nor is it whether most Muslims are “peaceful and law-abiding.” Most Muslims neither seriously understand nor engage their religion. They are Muslims by culture or tradition and, more importantly, are rarely in a position to be able or have to choose exactly how to act or demonstrate what they believe. And they believe in killing infidels. ("a person who does not believe in religion or who adheres to a religion other than one's own") I am not saying that all Muslims are terrorists but the problem arises in their belief that they will always stand up for another Muslim and never criticize or attack another Muslim brother! Call a spade a spade...that would be a start for a change. We change that when we shed our ignorance....when we are no longer willing to be cowed into complacency and stupor.
I know that 9/11 was committed by Isalmonazi's who were funded, trained, and coordinated by a group of Muslims. America did not attack "Muslims" or the "religion of Islam" first. America was justified in attacking a brutal and ruthless dictator and removing him from power, thus enabling the first true Arab democracy to exist in the Muslim world. America was also justified in attacking a regime that enabled an Act of War to be committed in New York.

  55. "robert thomas and his thoughts" has too much time on his hands.

shouldn't you be helping your mother wash the Thanksgiving dishes?

if you link to his blog, you'll read his critique of Mrs. Obama's fashion choices. he must fancy himself as the Mr. Blackwell of the intertubes.

    LOL!

  56. Among a multitude of gifts for which I'm grateful is a quick glance on a computer screen is as much contact as I will get to Robert Thomas and his 'thoughts'.

    Ouch.

It has to hurt transmitting that quantity of bile from noggin to keyboard.

  57. Greetings Ms Anonymous Coward. And thanks so much for viewing my blog.
As for Mrs. Obama's dress, one does have to be a Mr. Blackwell to critic the abominable putridity of that monstrosity.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well in my opinion, last night’s dress was just a bit less hideous/inappropriate than her usual garb (I know that’s not saying much), we can give her that. That being said, personally, I think Michelle Obama looks like she used to be a man. Some dental work is in order. And I don’t know why she wore strapless dress where her flabby arms showed so prominently. Lets face it Michelle Obama is not exactly the fashion icon!

  59. The screen on my iPhone compresses things a touch so I read the abbreviated Robert Thomas And His Thought...

    A far more accurate description.

  60. I am a liberal and I stumbled onto this site, but I looked around because I was intrigued by the stupidity of some of my fellow Liberal’s who answer these morons that are posting here about Ms. Obama. First of all, not a lot of liberals believe OJ Simpson didn’t kill his wife(we’re not retarded.) Second, I don’t think Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer, I think he’s an asshole. If your still reading this (I doubt you are, because conservatives don’t listen) the republicans portrays liberals as dumb, uneducated, tree huggers. But if any of you rednecks could open your eyes you would realize we are much more intelligent than you think, because unlike the republican posters on this blog, we are not told what to think.
I can just see a herd ignorant republicans from visiting numerous sites getting pissed off at my use of the word “redneck”

  61. Well, I've been away from my blog so that I could enjoy my Thanksgiving feast and come back to find the dreaded Thanksgiving Troll Invasion.

"robert thomas and his thoughts," I'm wondering what brought you to my blog on this day. Did Beth go running to you for solace, or are you and she one and the same?

And look at this, another troll heard from: "A Conservative Lady" also chimes in on Mrs. Obama's fashion choices and distinguishes herself by denigrating Mrs. Obama's looks, thereby evincing the maturity of pre-teen.

    "A Conservative Lady" writes:

"That being said, personally, I think Michelle Obama looks like she used to be a man. Some dental work is in order. And I don’t know why she wore strapless dress where her flabby arms showed so prominently. Lets face it Michelle Obama is not exactly the fashion icon!"

You're entitled to your catty, jealous opinion, "A Conservative Lady." But it must grate on you day in and day out that Mrs. Obama is well liked and admired by Americans as well as the rest of the world. She is wildly popular and is considered a regal beauty.

How awful it must be to have to live with that fact, and what a burden for you to have to drag yourself to Liberal blog after Liber blog to show off your utter lack of wit and overwhelming abundance of spiteful malevolence.

  62. I have to wonder why on a Holiday (a religious Holiday) someone would make it the enjoyment of their day, to sit and think up the most vile things and words to call another person, then type it up and post it on a device for the whole World to read.

To get such enjoyment out of spewing such hate, truly shows a troubled person.

The United States will not end if President Obama is a bad President, which he is not.

Someone's looks do not determine the kind of person they are.

The first lady happens to be a beautiful woman.

I would not expect someone so full of hate, to be able to judge beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hope you had a nice day, shaw.

That link to the photo of Michelle Obama is amazing, how can anyone not see her as elagant and poised? And those toned arms? incredible, could it be the Conservative Woman is jealous and racist? because Mrs. Obama is gorgeous by anyone's standards except someone who is prejudiced against a certain race.

  64. Well, I see I shouldn't have worried one bit about boring you all with my lack of economic acumen. You guys have certainly bored me with yours!

Mr. Fogg, 20% unemployment under Mr. Reagan? Post some proof there my friend. It will be interesting to note just when that happened during his presidency. So, you don't like my folksy musings? Pity. I'll surely lose sleep over it.

Tao, what is it with you and Mr. Bush? I don't apologize for my votes nor do I expect you or anyone else to do that. W is far from being a conservative so there were areas that I disagreed, areas where you would be expected to agree.

I know, I know, how everything to a liberal is complicated but it ain't necessarily so. Keynesian economics failed. Miserably. It failed under FDR and it will fail under Obama. Printing more paper money is a disaster. Even the Chinese are jittery.

“We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong… somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises… I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started… And an enormous debt to boot!” – Henry Morgenthau, FDR’s Treasury Secretary, May 9, 1939
