A Free Press Needs You

UPDATES BELOW:

Like a good dictator wannabe, Generalissimo Trump has called the media the "enemy of the people." The media has hit back with hundreds of independently written editorials on why that is a lie and how dangerous it is for a POTUS to incite people to believe it.

Trump's vicious attack on the media is unprecedented in modern American history, and it will not stand. Only a coward and a weak leader engages in undermining one of America's foundational rights, freedom of the press. That freedom means the press and other media do not fear reporting and editorializing on the American president.

Donald J. Trump is a simpering coward who cannot tolerate criticism and wishes the media to be nothing more than a syncophantic parasite for him to preen and prance in front of so it records his fake magnificence. Instead the media have reported what he says and does, and that enrages him because it exposes him for the petty, ignorant dictator wannabe that he is.

Thomas Jefferson once said that if he had to make a choice of having a government without newspapers or newspapers without government, he would choose the latter.

I agree. Would that America had only the media and not the scourge of this hideousTrump presidency.

More than 300 newspapers join a nationwide effort to publish editorials in response to Trump's attack on media

UPDATE:

Boston Globe receives multiple violent threats shortly after Trump attacked them in Twitter rant

"The threat against the newspaper came hours after President Donald Trump attacked it on his Twitter feed over its role in leading a campaign to get newspapers across the country to denounce his attacks on the media as the “enemy of the people.” “The Boston Globe… is in COLLUSION with other papers on free press,” the president wrote. “PROVE IT!”

UPDATE II:

The U.S. Senate told Donald Trump to stuff it with his "The media is the enemy of the people" slander!

Senate adopts resolution declaring "the press is not the enemy of the people"

"The Senate unanimously passed a resolution Thursday affirming that "the press is not the enemy of the people." President Trump has repeatedly declared that the "fake news" media is the 'enemy of the people.' The resolution, introduced by Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii, passed by unanimous consent."
