There are many reasons I'm proud to be living in Massachusetts...

but this may be the best one:

Massachusetts disapproves of Trump more than any state in the country

BOSTON — Massachusetts disapproves of President Donald Trump more than any other state in the country. That’s according to a new poll conducted by The Morning Consult, which says Trump has a disapproval rating of 62 percent in the Bay State. The survey says when Trump was inaugurated in January 2017, Trump had a disapproval rating of 47 percent in the state.

Even our Republican governor, Charlie Baker, disapproves of Trump. He didn't support him in 2016.

I'm the first to acknowledge our problems, and like any other state, we have many. But overall, Massachusetts leads the other 49 in all quality of life categories.

Massachusetts is the most educated state (reason #1 why Trump is so unpopular. People with intelligence, generally reject the charlatan.)

Massachusetts has the lowest number of uninsured citizens, thanks to Republican governor Mitt Romney's Mass.Health program.

Massachusetts is the healthiest state. (See above.)

Massachusetts is among the top ten states with the most physically fit population.

Massachusetts is in the top 10 states for business friendly states.

Massachusetts isn't even in the top 15 of highest taxed states.

Massachusetts has some of the strictest firearms laws and among the states with the lowest number of firearms deaths.

For physical beauty and recreation, Massachusetts is competitive with our sister states.

Massachusetts has championship teams: Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, and more.

Boston, Massachusetts:  The Cradle of Liberty.

  1. Congratulations to Massachusetts! You are a beacon of freedom and democracy that all States should emulate. The US would be better for it!

  2. I still miss the majestic beauty of the Pacific Northwest as well as its climate. Especially Washington State. My birthplace and home for 17 years. Miss it even after almost 50 years!

  3. RN, you are so correct. I have relatives in the Pacific Northwest. It is majestic!

Jerry, Thanks. I have to brag now and then to let those who know nothing about Massachusetts learn how a blue state is a win for its citizens.

  5. I will point out that if DC was a state you'd be in second. We in NY are tied for 6th or 7th depending on whether DC is counted so I don't feel too bad. You folks in Massachusetts absolutely deserve a high five for your Trump loathing.

Thanks for alerting me to this, Shaw.

  6. Kevin, New York is right up there with smarties and other quality of life high marks. And that's important to me because two of my grandchildren were born there, quite near your neighborhood.
