"CHILDREN OF THE SAME FOUL SPIRIT" -- G.W. Bush

Foreign terrorists:

Domestic terrorists:

Thank you President Bush for speaking the truth about the current Republican party and drawing the connection between the 9/11 and the 1/6 terrorists.

"The Capitol, of course, was the suspected target of Flight 93; the heroes on board that plane spared the lawmakers and others who worked there from the fate of occupants of the twin towers and the Pentagon.

The 1/6 terrorists breached the building the 9/11 terrorists could not. Both the 9/11 terrorists and the domestic 1/6 terrorists sought to destroy our democracy in service to a crazed ideology of intolerance."

  1. It's amazing how honest people can be when they get away from the fear and trap of group think. This is the same clown who said he was going to eliminate evil from the world. If Bush were running for office today he would cow tow to Trump's political power just like all the rest of the Republicans.

  2. Every American can, and should be proud of our former President GWB. He has grown since leaving office, an if he continues speaking out against those who woud destroy our republic he may very well be more important than he was as president.

I realize I'm likely to be laughed off this progressive board but here it goes ANYWWAY, President Biden should consider asking former President G.W.Bush to act as an unofficial advisor and the two of them could present a united front against the maligant hatred supported by tRump and his "New Age" Trumpublicans.

  3. Really?! Trump is reduced to speaking at a Moonie conference? Holy Shyte! Weren't the Moonies a cult that people joined and had to be reprogrammed when they escaped? Trump the MAGAt cultist got paid to speak there? Too funny!

Donald Trump spoke at an event on Saturday to praise the founders of the controversial Unification Church. The church, whose followers are often called the Moonies,' has been widely
described as a cult .A former cult member said that the group has deep ties to the modern
    Republican Party.

    Kinda explains a lot.

  4. RN I don't think many people, including sane anti-Trump Republicans would take too kindly to that. The thousands of American and Iraqi deaths caused by Bush, Inc., because of the Iraq War and the lies that got us there are still too raw in our collective memories.

    1. Perhaps they should eat more rice, grain by grain then.

Western philosophical dogma may very well lie at the root of our national affliction.

Doesn't it seem as though the harder and more ferociously the sides fight, belittle, demean, chastise, and beg for funds to continue to do so the worse things get?

Does it make sense to consider it might only Take One to? Tango. Maybe.

  5. Jerry, I'm not sure Bush would throw in with Trump. Trump insulted his family and for that reason I think there's bad blood between them.

  7. Shaw... Speaking to the Moonies?

Now we will see if anything is a bridge too far for the extremists. Within their belief system, there is no way a legit Christian can go to a cult temple, be part of their worship service and remain in good standing unless that opportunity to speak is used to evangelize the cultists.

The problem for Trump of course is that he himself is a cult leader as are the leaders of the Unification Church.

  9. More on the Unification Church... from a mid 1970's article in the NY Times.

"The Commission on Faith and Order of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the United States of America has declared that the Unification Church of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon is “not a Christian church” as it professes to be and that many of its teachings are “incompatible” with Christian belief."

These views are still widely held today and considered for the most part, Conservative Christian Orthodoxy.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ah, orthodoxy, the very thing Christians and Muslims seem to cherish eh?

And we westerners wonder why we continue to struggle. While Watching our nation and world deteriorate as division and violence escalates. N the globe.

And yet we continue grasping and clinging to the very philosophical and spiritual orthodoxy that got us to where we are today. And still we continue.

Time to eat more rice and sit more methinks.

  12. In DC, The Washington Times is the conservative answer to the Washington Post. It has gotten quite respectable over the years, even though:

"The Washington Times was founded on May 17, 1982, by Unification movement leader Sun Myung Moon and owned until 2010 by News World Communications, an international media conglomerate founded by Moon. It is currently owned by Operations Holdings, which is a part of the Unification movement."

  13. All of this in service of a lie... that somehow, the US is in the grips of a massive conspiracy by over 60 US courts, with judges appointed by GOP and DEM presidents, including Trump, 50 Secs of State from both parties and 50 governors from both parties.

Here's the thinking behind this conspiracy, from January 2013 after President Obama won reelection. The extremists were sure they had been cheated by Obama, especially in the states of Florida and Ohio.

Led by "Tucker Carlson" then known as Bill O'Reilly, they screamed about made up counties in Ohio, and thousands of dead people voting in both states. Their evidence? O'Reilly had stated that more people had voted then there were registered voters.

All pretty explosive stuff. If true.

Of course back in those days, Ducky and I would battle mightily for the facts. After I challenged the Mothership Sailors and the Capitan personally, she asked me for facts, links, etc.

Which I, along with Ducky dutifully provided from the exact states and counties Z and her readers alleged fraud. Here's one response, word for word...

    "From GeeeeZ.
David, honestly, you could link till Obama's finally ruined the foundations of this great country and I wouldn't care, come to think of it. Sorry I bothered you.

I'll never believe there wasn't voter fraud and that's it. Is this just petulance and agenda on my party? Of course not..too much going on, too many polls showing quite the opposite of the results...just TOO MUCH to think there wasn't quite a bit of fraud. Why wouldn't he? :-)"

    I'll never believe!

And that's why we're where we are today. Facts that contradict my agenda are not to be believed. Facts that don't support what I want, are not to be believed.

It really is an upside down Mad Hatter World.

You doubt it? Read this post and the comments. Including a few from the "old" RN.

  15. Dave, as I've said many times, those folks on the Mother Ship are lost souls -- irredeemable. But at least they do no harm complaining among themselves about how unfairly Trumpublicans are treated.

And the voter fraud whining? They really are blind to reality.

Trump and his cultists are already saying the California vote is "rigged!"

The Mother Shippers are unable to connect the dots between Trump's absurd lies about "rigged" elections before every election, and their own gullibility in believing those lies as the reason they lost.

I have a 10-year old nephew with better critical thinking skills than they have.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Maybe the gang on the Mother Ship are simply children of the same foul spirit?

  17. And here's an example of what Trump has done to this country:

"GOP frontrunner Larry Elder would not commit to accepting the results of tomorrow's California recall election when I asked him this morning."

To the Trumpublicans, the only "fair" elections are the elections they win, otherwise, the election is "rigged."

    Are Trumpublicans that stupid?

    Yes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. NEW: Larry Elder's campaign is promoting a website that claims the recall is over, Newsom won, and they found voter fraud through a statistical analysis of the results.

The only problem: The election hasn't happened yet...

As Newsom leads California recall polls, Larry Elder pushes baseless fraud claims

A website paid for by Elder's campaign on Monday predicted his defeat and blamed unsubstantiated fraud claims.

Trump has made it normal for charlatans like Elder to scream "FRAUD" if they don't win.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The site asks Elder supporters to sign a petition demanding a special session of CA legislature to investigate "the twisted results of this 2021 Recall Election."

Again, the election has hasn't happened yet.

    ReplyDelete
  20. From Elder's "election fraud" site:

"Statistical analyses used to detect fraud in elections held in 3rd-world nations...detected fraud in California resulting in Governor Gavin Newsom being reinstated as governor."

Again, the election hasn't happened yet...

  21. Shaw... when you say "the only "fair" elections are the elections they win, otherwise, the election is "rigged."", to describe the views towards elections by the current GOP, you could not be more correct.

Sen Rpn Johnson of WI is a good example. He was caught on a hot mike uttering the truth, that Trump lost lost the election. Period. With no fraud.

But he can't say that out loud because it is not GOP orthodoxy. He, nor anyone else who want to remain in the party, can break with this view because as they have stated, they won't win another major election for years.

Claiming fraud and working to limit access to the ballot, is the only way the GOP can continue to win statewide and national elections because they are working to conserve a "way of life" or return to the "great America" of some undefinable time.

Facts don't matter, their thinking has no ideological base or consistency and they simply, at this point anyway, have just two goals.
    1. Own the libs.
    2. Support Trump.

In new polling, we are learning the following...

6 in 10 say that supporting Trump, and that believing that he won in 2020, are an important part of what being a Republican means to them.

No ideas, nothing. 60% of the GOP and GOP leaning independents like Skud, believe that supporting the Big Lie is an important part of being a Republican.

If that doesn't scare ppl, what would?

  22. From my recent rant:

Nobody complains more about being marginalized than conservatives.

Nobody complains more about their voices being unheard than conservatives.

Nobody demands to “take our country back” more than conservatives.

Nobody claims to be “real Americans”, and vilifies opponents for “hating America” more than conservatives.

Nobody howls about “rigged elections” more than conservatives.

Nobody believes Trump’s Big Lie about a stolen election more than conservatives.

But what are the facts, besides the obvious one that Biden won the election?

The facts tell us who really are the truly marginalized Americans in our so-called representative democratic republic.

They are not conservatives. And they are not the minority.

  25. Well gang... here's another example of someone who really is a MAGA supporting lover of America...

Speaking of our Secretary of State Antony Blinken, she said... "I watched a fair part of the hearings and I thought that Blinkin was smarter than I’d hoped"

What kind of person who lives in America is upset because a major US leader, our Sec of State, is not as dumb as she had hoped? Why would anyone want a dumb Sec of State? Why is being smart a bad thing?

What has happened to people in America that there are citizens here who hope a president, any president, puts dumb people in positions of power? How can any American hope a president has an idiot representing our country on the world stage?

    Can anyone explain it?
