ARIZONA REPUBLICANS DOING THEIR BEST TO TURN ARIZONA INTO IRAN AND AFGHANISTAN

What you see here is anti-American and unconstitutional. IOW, breaking the law of the land:

@thisiscamaron Arizona senator brings prayer group into the Capitol, where they proceed to bow over the state seal and pray in tongues for their god to “release the presence of the lord” in the Senate chamber. #azpol #reprorights #everythingarizona #abortionaccess ♬ original sound - Camaron Stevenson

  1. Good Gawd! If we needed further proof of why 30% of America doesn't see Trump for the neo-fascist that he is, here it is, from a devoted FAUX NOOZ and Newsmax consumer.

I, of course, believe Biden’s just the puppet on Obama’s strings, anyway………Obama just picked the wrong jerk to run for president and now he’s stuck with a degrading waste or protoplasm to do his bidding … They’re saying now that Obama’s told Biden to stop talking about the border, that it’s a loser and Biden needs to change the subject. It’s all OBAMA.

JOE…I’d prefer to say that they’re “over-performing at the present moment in time”. GOD BLESS YOU FOR SOME OPTIMISM HERE TODAY.

I TRULY BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP……..MAN, IF THEY WATCHED FOX FOR HALF AN HOUR, THEY’D BE VOTING AGAINST BIDEN…..PEOPLE REALLY DON’T GET THE TRUTH……AND, WHEN THEY DO, THEY REACT.

oR WATCHED (THE WONDERFUL) ROB SCHMITT ON NEWSMAX……..

Rupert Murdoch says Fox stars 'endorsed' lies about 2020. He chose not to stop them

Why don't Fox News viewers care that Fox literally admitted in court that they lie?

Report: Conservative Newsmax peddles Jan. 6 misinformation

Washington (AP) — A conservative TV channel is presenting viewers with an “alternate universe” of how the deadly siege at the U.S. Capitol unfolded on Jan. 6, 2021, a new research report finds.

Newsmax has broadcast at least 40 false claims or conspiracy theories about the attack since June, when a House committee began televising its evidence about the role former President Donald Trump and his allies played in the day’s events, according to NewsGuard, a tech firm that monitors misinformation.

“If you’re watching Newsmax, you may come away with an entirely different feeling of what happened at the hearings, and what happened on Jan. 6,” NewsGuard analyst Jack Brewster said of the findings.

Many of the falsehoods, presented by anchors, reporters and guests who include Republican members of Congress, have been repeatedly debunked. Newsmax did not comment on the report.

  2. "They’re saying now that Obama’s told Biden to stop talking about the border, that it’s a loser and Biden needs to change the subject. It’s all OBAMA."

Who is "they?" Blogger woman doesn't say. We just have to take her word for it that the "they" are reliable, truth-telling sources.

And THAT, my friends is why Trump is running again for the presidency. His cultists, like the person quoted above, are lazy, uncritical thinkers. And proud of it.

Oh, and they refer to President Obama (who had a scandal-free 8-year presidency and ZERO indictments for ANYTHING) as "Halfrican," and his wife as "Big Mike."

These are the folks who will decide who win the presidency this year.

  4. Shaw... I know from how that comment you highlighted who wrote it. Yes, if we all just watched FOX News, everything would be okay.

As for prayer, for almost our entire existence as a country, government has opened all sorts of meetings with some sort of prayer, or reflection moment and it has been approved, if it is "non sectarian" many times by different SCOTUS decisions, including at the state level.

I can see the issues though within a secular society.

I'm not sure how we reconcile that, how we reconcile making others who are not from a Christian tradition, feel welcome, heard and valued. I know some don't care to worry about those things and others, but I do.

I see why many want a public square devoid of all religion. But I continue to believe that all religion, absent the fringes, can be good for people. And again I say that having personally seen a level of religious "badness" many only read about in books.

    Do you sense the tension?

And yet no matter what, there is no way I way can excuse people who call Fmr pres. Obama a halfrican and his wife Big Mike. And there's no way I can reconcile a person running a blog permitting that type of debasement of African American people for essentially sport. Especially when she frequently brings up her many black friends and even relatives, as "proof" she can't be racist.

Are they free in America to harbor those thoughts? Of course. Are they free to write or speak them? Again, of course. But I wish someone would consider how the black people those folks know would feel if they were called halfricans or Big Mike to their faces.

    It's disgusting.

    But that is today's GOP.

  5. Dave M. "I wish someone would consider how the black people those folks know would feel if they were called halfricans or Big Mike to their faces."

It's interesting to point out that the woman who runs that blog (and permits the debasement of African-Americans) likes to point out that she has African-American relatives and good friends.

I wonder if she understands that many African-Americans have white ancestry, and her blog pals could easily call her Black relatives and friends "halfrican, or quartafrican, or eighthafrican, and on and on.

One of her commenters even went after Nikki Haley, calling her a "Ni##ger in the woodpile," and of course there were others who referred to Muslims as "Moslem vermin."

I don't wonder that they're attracted to Donald Trump, who referred to Liberals as "vermin," and stated that immigrants are "poisoning the national blood" --descriptive racist language from Hitler himself.

I've never read any disagreement on that blog about the language Trump used to label Liberals and immigrants, so we can only conclude that the blog owner and her friends approve of it and how it slanders whole populations of human beings.

It's the "some of my best friends are black" how can I be racist retort.

  7. Shaw asked, regarding some of the crazies...

"I wonder if she understands that many African-Americans have white ancestry, and her blog pals could easily call her Black relatives and friends "halfrican, or quartafrican, or eighthafrican, and on and on."

As you know my wife is African American. An interesting tidbit. In May of 2023 she received her Masters degree. Her mom, aunt and a few cousins were there in Portland to celebrate the occasion. After graduation, the family just sat around and talked.

That's when we learned that my wife's grandmother was a direct descendant to a white woman who came to the US as part of the "Great Pilgrim Migration" to the future USA. My wife's "halfrican" grandmother!

Which was mind blowing in itself. But when you add that my direct relatives also came on the same ship, it becomes even more so.

I'm guessing, no, I know, that crowd does not consider me a true American. Probably wouldn't my wife either. But I bet our roots go deeper into this great country and the American experiment with democracy than any of theirs.

  8. Arizona leading the return to 1864 with the state SJC ruling that a 1864 law still on the books remains enforceable. The law ia a total ban of abortion, with the sole exception of saving the women's.

Welcoming back to life the archaic and non ccmpassionate mentality of the RCC. Get ready for more America. It's starting to feel like a middle eastern Muslim country in some places i can imagine.

  9. Here's a good description of what happened in Arizona, from The Bulwark...

"A Republican executive [Governor] appoints Republican Supreme Court justices.

Those justices insist on reviving an 1864 law to ban abortions, contrary to the apparent intention of the Arizona legislature, which in 2022 passed a law legalizing abortions up to 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The Republican leadership of the Republican-controlled legislature won’t permit debate on a new law.

So there you have it: Republicans controlled all three branches of government and the result was that they limited Americans’ freedom and thwarted the public will.
