GOOD NEWS!

BREAKING: “Steve Bannon’s appeal was unanimously rejected and he will be ordered to prison soon. By staying his prison sentence, he will now be incarcerated during the election.”

  1. Don't count the chickens before they hatch. Bannon can still appeal to the US Court of Appeals in DC and then to the apparently Trump favoring SCOTUS.

All Bannon has to do is hold out to Jan 20, 2025 and his hope that Trump wins then grants an early afternoon pardon.

  2. Yes, I read that, but I also read legal experts state that his appeals are unlikely to go anywhere.

    “unlikely “

But a leading candidate for POTUS is currently facing 88 criminal indictments, has been adjudicated a rapist and was found guilty of fraud. And he refused to accept the outcome of a free and fair election he lost.

I don’t know what “ unlikely “ actually means anymore.

  3. Trusting legal "experts" can be a road to complete disappointment.

bannon and trump are as likely to skate and avoid accountability as they are to face just punishment for their anti democracy attempt to FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT and CULTURE through disinformation and insurrection.

  4. Shaw... they won't go anywhere, but will take up time and keep him on the air through the election at least.

As we've seen, the federal judiciary has shown no evidence of wanting to move quickly on anything related to Trump.

  5. Admittedly this is off topic, but since the fever swamps of the GOP seem to always return to "Michelle Obama will be the Dem candidate", maybe us libs should have our be worried fantasy...

If Trump is convicted in the NY trial and starts to falter before we get to September, let's not rule out the GOP going to Nikki Haley and making her their nominee. She's smartly stayed quiet since "suspending" her campaign and if she was at the top of the ticket, she'd 100% crush Joe Biden.

As the old movie asked... "who knows what evil lurks" just around the corner?

  6. The "evil", i actually now prefer delusion, doesn't lurk "just around the corner" only, it has been lurking deep within the consciousness of over 80 million folks for quite some time methinks.

  7. Nikki Haley said she’d pardon Trump if she were elected POTUS.

She also said she’d work for a federal ban on abortions.

Also, she claimed that America was never a racist country.

    Those are kinds big things.

  8. The only way to make it to the top of the republican ticket these days is to be a psycho.

  9. I want to post this here. I posted it below, but it deserves to be here as well:

“As many have noted, we’re not going to solve our problems at the same level of consciousness on which we created them. If the national consciousness, the state of our national soul, is to repair, it will be because people begin to think as deeply as Thurman did and begin to be intolerant of the immoralities of their own side.

I was impressed this week by Georgia’s former lieutenant governor Geoff Duncan. A conservative Republican, he announced his decision to support Biden, and he rebuked those other conservatives who are appalled by Trump but still vow to vote for him. Duncan’s reasoning was straightforward: Character is more important than policy. Or to put it more grandly, the soul of our democracy is more important than whatever the future top tax rate might be.” — David Brooks, NYTIMES

  10. It's about this S.O.B. got his. Next, Trump.

  11. Geoff Duncan did what we could only wish more members of the GOP would do. But alas, they will not, they cannot!

    Why is that?

  12. Why not just stand Bannon against the wall and shoot him now? Is it too early for the masques to drop?

  13. It’s called accountability for breaking the law, JoeCon.

Lawless folks always feel persecuted when they have to face consequences for their unlawful actions.

    See: Trump, Donald.

At the end of Trump’s presidency, Bannon was pardoned by Trump for breaking the law. This time an indicted felon, Trump, can’t help his fellow accused felon out.

    SAD!

What's China Joe Biden still doing in the White House and son Hunter with his crack pipe in the Residence then?

Without double standards and hypocrisy, the DNC would have gone out of business when it lost the US Civil War 160 years ago.

    1. It is your opinion, AND, it is the cons of the.MAGAverse with all the double standards. And YOU, joe con, represent all that proudly.

  15. That’s your OPINION, JoeCon, not FACT.

JOE Biden is NOT facing any felony indictments, unlike your hero, Trump.

The stupid sham impeachment by the Trump clowns in the House went nowhere.

Steve Bannon got a pardon for his felony from Trump, and will now face the consequence of ignoring a Congressional subpoena.

Why don’t you go complain at the Church of Trump? The Mother Ship, they’ll be happy to hear you grumble about “NO FAIR!!”

  16. Steve Bannon is the guy who thought Hillary Clinton was stupid and Sarah Palin was brilliant
Maybe he will have time to study while incarcerated.

  17. Bb-Idaho,

Steve Bannon also claimed he is a Leninist — he wants to burn the whole government system down.

History shows us time and again what happens when radicals do that.

    Bannon belongs in prison.

    ReplyDelete
  18. And trump belongs right there with him in prison. But, trump is going to skate. The scotus majority i'm guessing feel they owe him.

  19. Shaw... Bannon is a guy who wants to burn it all down. Much like I believe -FJ does, and potentially Skud.

To them, the Feds are bloated, out of touch with middle America and need to downsized in a big way, leaving Americans to fend for ourselves, sans government aid.

In a way, I get it. I just don't see how it works in the 21st century.

  20. Freeing up 30% of the economy doesn't work? How about when it becomes 50%, Dave?

  21. JoeCon, your link has nothing to do with this post:

“Why Is Federal Spending Expanding as a Share of the Economy?

U.S. government spending is growing at a faster pace than the ability of taxpayers to pay for it.”

But Trumps huge tax cuts for billionaires added trillions to our deficit, and added to this problem. When revenue is cut, this is what happens.

    1. Simple solution. Increase taxes and restore us to the footing President D. D. Eisenhower had when he initiated the interstate highway system, restored Europe following WW II, and created a thriving and growing middle class.

What the cons want, to insure their own continued financial security at the expense of the greater society as a whole, is to turn on the austerity efforts and choke off the help the most vulnerable need and insure the lower income levels will barely keep up.

trump, the gop in congress, and wealthy cons do not really care about the the rest of us.
