Paul Revere's ride enactment last night in my neighborhood in Boston's North End:
Paul Revere walks from his home in North Square to Hanover Street down to the Charles River, after seeing "two if by sea" in the Old North Church bell tower. He then took a boat to Charlestown, where he mounted a horse and rode to every Middlesex village and town, warning that "the Regulars are coming!"
I'm squashed in there among my neighbors watching it all.
Light show view from East Boston, over the channel toward Boston Town:

Great event from a great city. Thanks for posting
ReplyDeleteWho knew Paul Revere looked like Meat Loaf? He must have rode like a Bat out of Hell.
ReplyDeleteWas Revere reincarnated as Meat Loaf? Who knows? LOL!
DeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited Philadelphia back in the day I made sure to visit the big spaces. I must confess that walking into Independence Hall, my footsteps echoing those of the founding fathers, I felt a lot of things, mostly a connection to the spirit of the past. And that was sun up, just a regular day. I can't imagine the depth of emotion felt by you, Shaw, and the crowd as the reenactment played out, mirroring current events.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. Took me a minute to say anything but sometimes when a feeling is bigger than big it pays to be mindful in ones expression.
