The TACO Kid: Wall Street is mocking Trump — and it has nothing to do with his diet

Trump's Wall Street pals call him the "TACO President" -- Trump Always Chickens Out.

The acronym "TACO," which stands for "Trump Always Chickens Out," was reportedly coined by a Financial Times columnist, Robert Armstrong, and quickly gained traction on Wall Street.

“Since the first tariff pause back in April, the TACO acronym has become common among investors. It stands for ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’,“ Beauchamp wrote in his analysis.

“Each apparent escalation of the trade war has been followed up by a pause, a pattern that was apparent before April when the US president began to make pronouncements about Canada and Mexico, the prelude to his assault on the global trade system on ‘Liberation Day,’” he added.

    1. Trump's "TAofD is a joke. Tariffs have been halted by 2 federal judges, and that "bribery" jet from Qatar?

"Air Force officials reviewed the Qatari-gifted Boeing 747-8 and determined it was in a "very poorly maintained" state, requiring significant investment to bring it up to Air Force One standards, according to The Washington Post. They estimated the cost to meet the necessary safety and security requirements to be $1.5 billion, with an additional $500 million potentially needed to remove military equipment and convert it for civilian use after the president leaves office. The current Air Force One, a Boeing 747-200B, is much smaller and older than the Qatari gift, a Boeing 747-8, The Guardian reports."

    2. The Court is going to negotiate US tariffs now? Are they going to go execute foreign policy, too? Who knew.

    3. That's not what has happened. The courts decide if what a president, Trump in this case, is doing is ACCORDING TO THE LAW. And, yes, the courts decide if the law is being followed. Trump is NOT a g-d king. Keep in mind that Trump is a law-breaking felon, so it is a good thing the courts are looking into the legality of his actions.

Now go to your fainting couch and calm down. What has happed is just a reminder that we are a nation of laws, not men, especially corrupt, criminals like Trump.

    4. "Is the court going to negotiate US tariffs now?"

Not at all -FJ. All the courts are saying is that if Trump wants to levy tariffs, he must do so legally. And the courts found his claim of an actual emergency to be lacking substance.

Easy peasy, just do so according to our laws and Constitution.

    5. For now. The ruling is not permanent. The courts will rule again.

  2. The TACO Prez, a Big Beatiful Acronym .

Now, if only he would chicken out on his anti democracy, anti rule of law, anti middle class/working poor, anti truth, anti reality, and pro racist agenda. However, On these and anti decency the FOTUS will remain steadfast.

  3. Watching our many faced troll lose all composure as the FOTUS agenda is knocked to the ground because the FOTUS is incapable of following our laws and Constitution is giving me mixed emotions. On one hand HA!!! because they backed the wrong side, again. On the other hand I have compassion for anyone who is watching their supposed well organized world collapse into chaos. Perhaps they will learn from this experience. Perhaps.

    1. Probably only if they begin to see the errors of their reified but false beliefs in how they view tRump. That is very unlikely to occur. Deep down Embarrassment may be the overriding reason why.

  4. Joe... yes, you are right, an appellate court issued a stay. So, if you can, or dare to even try, tell us what the emergency is that the Trump Admin is claiming and what objective measure the admin will use to determine when that emergency has passed.

Because an inability to do both kind of lets the cat out of the proverbial bag... the one that shows there never was any emergency. Despite Trump's claims...

And before you too far, remember that in issuing that stay, the appellate court threw cold water on the emergency claim rejecting it completely.

    More to come I'm sure.

  5. Gotta hand it to Trump. He won't let any court, law, or sense of decency stop him from dismantling the republic and steering us into turmoil and recession.
