Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut

The floods ripped through Texas on July 4.

On July 5, FEMA received 3000 calls from survivors. 1% were unanswered.

That night, Trump/Noem fired the people who answer the calls.

On July 6, FEMA received 2,363 calls. 65% unanswered.

July 7: 85%.

“Yes, Kristi Noem did ask her social media followers to help choose a portrait of her while devastating floods were impacting Texas
.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted three portraits of herself on horseback on her Instagram account and asked her followers to choose which one they liked best for her official portrait to hang in the South Dakota State Capitol, according to The Economic Times.
This action drew criticism, particularly because it occurred during the Texas floods, and a new DHS policy requiring Noem's personal sign-off on contracts and grants over $100,000 reportedly delayed FEMA's response and hindered search and rescue efforts, according to The Daily Beast. Critics viewed the timing of the post as insensitive and prioritizing personal image over the urgent needs of the disaster victims. “

  1. Let's also remind people that that homeland Security Kristi Noem must personally approve ANY expenditure over $100,000.00. In a moment when rescues and relief can take millions and need quick approvals, this new rule has needlessly slowed government response and cost lives.

Now, to all my fine progressive amigos, don't get taken for suckers. Not a single MAGA person will defend the Trump Admin on this, because they know it's indefensible.

But they will come to both sider the issue, deflect people from seeing what they are seeing and post needless videos.

Stay on topic, just as you would wish a journalist would when Trump deflects from his obvious inability to manage the response of our federal government to a huge and we now know, needless disaster.

All, literally in this case, caused by the GOP.
