NEVER BELIEVE A LYING LIAR.

Everything old is new again:

If it looks like an authoritarian; if it walks like an authoritarian, if it talks like an authoritarian,

IT'S AN AUTHORITARIAN:

Reporter: You said the women that were protesting when you were at the restaurant should be in jail. Do you actually think that is an offense that deserves jail time? Trump: Yeah, I think they were a threat.

Donald Trump: “You have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump. They're not allowed to do that.”

YES. THEY. ARE! It's called Freedom of Speech!

We have an idiot president who knows nothing about the Constitution he swore to "preserve, protect, and defend!"

  1. He actually meant he was going to censor that which doesn't fall in line with MAGA bulls**t and free speech would be restricted to that which he and his fascist regime authorize.

The spectre of fascism now envelopes America.

  2. When I watch a late-night show, I would like to be entertained,d at time even Laugh, but these people just got ugly,” That’s just the bottom line. They got ugly, and it wasn’t entertaining anymore. So I think the decision to fire them was justified.

    1. Well, Anon, you're wrong. What the late-night comedians say on their shows is protected speech as long as it does not threaten the lives of anyone or incite anyone to violence, and as long as that speech doesn't defame/slander anyone.

You need to read the Constitution. Like Trump, you don't know anything about the 1st Amendment.

  3. MAGA, first and foremost does NOT believe in the Constitution or the principles of democracy. Their speech and actions have attested to this truth time and time again.

Authoritarianism is there goal and tRump their useful idiot getting it done.

  4. What is Anon 1006 wrong about. Is it he watches late night to be entertained. I know if you disagree with the democrat interpretation of things you are wrong but how can you be wrong about something you feel. I don't watch late night for the same reason, they are just not entertaining.

I don't agree that trump should interfere with the FCC licensing of stations. That should be an independent decision and just because you hate trump and say it on the air shouldn't matter. The president is a public figure and is open for criticism, of course we are speaking about trump who has very thin skin.

I don't think the government should interfere with private businesses. I was against the swell guy forcing Chrysler's sale to Fiat, GM to close Saturn and Humvee and trump interfering with ABC.

    1. Skud... like you, I see nothing wrong with what Anon said. It's his, or her opinion. I can disagree though. I think plenty of people liked Kimmel's humor, or else he'd have been taken off the air sooner.

Be that as it may, the rest of your comment intrigues me. You do not believe Trump should interfere with the FCC and that it should be independent. With that, you and I are 100% in agreement. You do not think government should interfere with private business. In this, we disagree. I think sometimes there are times when government must act in this mode, for the good of the country.

Are these big issues for you? I ask because for years, in fact, generations, the GOP has demonized the left for our openness to government getting involved with business. We're socialists many have said, afraid of the free market.

And yet those same conservative GOP members annually vote for farm business subsidies and now, business carve outs under the Trump tariffs.

So, why do you vote for people, mostly GOP folks, who so favor the people who make policies with which you disagree?

At least on my end, I generally agree with those policies and have been know to not vote for many a local, or even national dem, go rogue and even vote for the GOP.

  5. "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them' was a book by Al Franken, popular Senator from MN. He resigned when a photo of him on a USO tour showed him leering at a starlet on stage. If that isn't a double standard compared to
the Trumpian list of lust, perhaps 'Anon' can explain.

  6. So many feels masquerading as facts but facts don't care how anyone feels about them. Charlie Kirk said that all the time. Guess his followers didn't get the memo that the phrase didn't apply to one specific demographic (their perceived enemies) but was applicable universally.

A couple of corrections, only because to leave the statements alone is akin to nails on a chalkboard (my apologies for the visual and auditory cues but that's what I've been living with ever since I read through the comment section Friday evening).

First and foremost, Chrysler was on the brink of liquidation after major financial losses during the 2007 recession. All the monies poured into the Auto industry by both Bush and Obama at the time couldn't save the company. To avoid the finalization of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing they restructured with Fiat emerging as their principle owner.

skud said "I was against the swell guy forcing Chrysler's sale to Fiat...." which was accurate in that Chrysler was sold to Fiat but the framing was as bad as a house built right after WWII (per my folks and grand folks it was wiser to purchase an old house built prior to the war, lift it by it's foundation and move it the necessary miles to the farm rather than build new because of the run on seasoned wood leaving only green boards which were prone to warping).

So to use skud's skill which is to read a post and totally miss the point they would have preferred the company crashing both the employees lives and the economic health of the city were the plant was located rather than accepting help from one's government? I was unaware they were so cruel!

Do better skud. If you feel something is correct trust your feeling but then verify. First lesson in my Mental Health journey was a class on how our feelings are true to each individual but in no way do they accurately reflect reality. As proof I offer skuds comments and my reply.

Last note? All over the interwebz I've read comment after comment as to how do WeThePeople recover, how do we move forward from the disinformation age? Well, I suggest we identify a set of facts as our base and build from there. From that base we move to address the mental illness affection millions who truly believe everything their Voices of Authority told them. Some of it might be factual - every good lie has a touch of fact as a base - but the rest? There are so many who have so much sorting through their thoughts to do.

Honestly, the evidence I gathered points to Americans as a whole as lazy in our thoughts if not our actions. If we weren't so careless our Democracy couldn't have been stolen from us by corporations and robber barons, but here we are.
