All Americans should be sickened by what happened to Renee Nicole Good yesterday in Minneapolis. ICE agents escalated a situation, and an American woman was shot dead on an American street.
From the information I've read, the ICE shooter left the scene of the killing, which, I believe, is also a crime.
I will not publish any comments that blame Ms. Good for her murder.
I've watched the videos of the killing. Noem's and Trump's statements are inexcusable lies about what happened.

The escalation was a natural outcome of the pss poor unethical leadership of ICE and the Presnit of the American Empire building Trump.
ReplyDeleteI took a look over at the Mother Ship; and, surprise! surprise!, they're all blaming the victim and siding with the killer. The U.S. DOJ policy on the use of deadly force plainly states when shooting an American citizen in the head is warranted. It certainly was not warranted in this instance. What is stomach-turning is that the woman who shot her own puppy in the head and our Felon-in-Chief both blamed the victim before any evidence was available.

ICE's track record shows that they don't have the kind of comprehensive training that real police officers get, and have a mentality of using excessive force as the norm and acting as if they're above the law. It was inevitable that something like this would happen eventually.

I viewed the news coverage and unless there was a view not presented the ICE officer was in danger for a very brief time and took one shot then two other shots while she was driving away. Shooting someone who is fleeing and not danger to others is inexcusable. Common sense says if a LEO says stop you do but we are in a society who has little respect for LEO's and teachers still it was wrong.

ReplyDeleteBREAKING: Minneapolis Police, chief Brian O'Hara just contradicted Trump, saying that Renee Nicole Good was the only person injured during today's incident, after Trump said that the ICE officer was injured and recovering in the hospital.
There is actual video of the ICE killer walking calmly and without even a hint of a limp toward the woman's car, and then walking away and leaving the scene of the killing.
Trump is a lying liar, and so is the woman who shot her puppy in its head.

This is from the comments section of the New York Times. Reading it frightened me:
ReplyDelete1) The videos show clearly the agent was to the left of the car when it moved forward to the right and in little danger.
However, the agent violated written ICE policy ( and other law enforcement agency policies) that mandate
“Never walk in front of a suspect’s vehicle”.
2) Other ICE polices demand that agents administer first aid immediately after the “threat” is over.
Not only did ICE keep a bystander MD from rendering aide, they blocked the Hennepin County EMT’s ambulance from the scene. The EMTs had to walk in without a stretcher and it took 15 mins. The hospital is only 8 mins away.
The DOJ investigation has already announced its findings as Noem and Vance clearly state. Now anyone who ICE kills will be labeled a “domestic terrorist” and the agent exonerated. Only if there are truly embarrassing disclosures that cannot be covered up ( as with Martinez) will there be any accountability or justice.
This was a deliberate provocation. ICE has been instructed to accelerate the violence and mayhem to provoke larger and larger protests so Trump can declare martial law and cancel the elections.
Trump has mused to the media many times about cancelling the upcoming 2026 elections. He even complained that if he talks about it people will call him "dictator." He himself admitted that the governing party loses midterms, and that's what brought on his remarks about cancelling the elections.
Here's how one writer described what happened.
ReplyDelete1. Unwarranted violence. Based on all the evidence we have, including voice files from the conversation between Good and the agent who killed her, and ICE rules of force guidelines, the killing was unwarranted and in fact, the use of a firearm in this case, was against ICE guidelines.
2. Lying about the incident. Again, based on the tapes we have, the officer was not run over as Pres Trump stated, was never in jeopardy, as stated by the president and Good was not being violent.
3. Extension of impunity towards the perpetrator of the violence. The Trump Admin has made it difficult, if not impossible for legal authorities in Minnesota to investigate the shooting, taking evidence, and barring the state from investigating.
How are any of these actions consistent with a functioning democracy?
