If your hair isn't on fire, you're not paying attention!

Listen to Senator Kelly. He's not the canary in the coal mine; he's the alarm/fog horn/siren warning us all to wake up and understand the authoritarian/fascist regime in front of our noses!

  1. True heroes always stand up in a nation's darkest hours.

We are now in this nation's darkest hours.

Tyranny creeps into a democratic nation state when its citizens fall asleep at the wheel and elect/allow a narcissistic charlatan to run roughshod over its constitution and the rule of law.

True, patriotic Americans WILL listen to the Senators.

Wilfully Ignorant and deluded MAGAts, with their worship of the criminal Trump WILL NOT.

  2. History will treat Mark Kelly more kindly than the dark chapter of Trump.
    That's the way it works.

  3. Informed Americans of conscience saw it coming 10 years ago.
Now the frogs are starting to boil and they still don't know it.

    1. Yep. friend of my wife, was impressed when she saw Trump and Melania descending the escalator when he announced. She asked me what I thought.
"Batsh*t Crazy!" I've seen nuttin to change my mind.

  4. Let's not lose sight of how DJT is influencing things. He doesn't care if what he is doing through the legal system is legal, or even yields an indictment. He will surely get an indictment somewhere. Remember the "ham sandwich" line.

He's not looking for a conviction, because he knows that will never happen.

He's looking to exact pain, financial pain. And Kelly and the rest of his military brothers and sisters whom Trump has targeted will have to defend themselves legally for awhile.

At a DC lawyer's rate of over $500.00 an hour, billed in ten, six minute blocks.

Guilt is not the objective. Financial cost is the goal, and Trump will get it.

And be immune himself from any recourse, because he's the prez.

Look, he said he'd do this when he ran in 2016. He said he'd use the law, or the loopholes, or the parts that relied on honor, to get his way. And he is. every day.

No system is perfect. Not ours, not anyones. Trump, unlike his predecessors, instead of following long established norms, has exploited those places in our laws where everything is not spelled out.

Like a child pushing the envelope with his parents.

Now we know where we are. Sadly, the solution, because there surely will be more Trumps, from both the left and the right, is to end the grand experiment and start over.

But there's no way we can do that. Because systems already in place rarely if ever, can successfully reinvent themselves.

As I keep saying, we're in a mess.

  5. Since not everyone is always fully honest and because almost all take action with their own best interests in mind sometimes no system will ever be perfect for anyone.

Hence the purpose of governing by the will of the MAJORITY. With constitutional safeguards for the minority.

I agree Dave. America is in the middle of a hot mess right now. Exacerbated by the wilfull blind ignorance of Trump's MAGA disciples and sycophants.
