From what I've read, this has been the norm for years because lots of Canadians support those teams. As soon as the malignant narcissist is gone from office, we'll have to repair the damage he's done to American/Canadian relations. I, personally, think they will ever trusts us again.

Since the U.S. State Department has denied entry visas to Palestinian Authority (PA) officials and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) members, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, preventing them from attending the U.N. General Assembly in person in September 2026, as they did in 2025, I've suggested that the UN be moved to Ottawa!!

ReplyDeleteIf the US is comfortable with the deal we have now which includes granting greater US access to bases, we could have quietly made this happen months ago.
No fanfare, no bluster, no BS. We just call the Danes and start quiet, respectful talks with a NATO ally.
Why would a president willingly choose, to try and humiliate a friendly neighbor and a major US defense alliance into a position they would have willingly accepted if asked behind closed doors and jointly announced? Or not announced, but quietly agreed to?
This used to be, you know, in the before times, how it worked. The US sent the Sec of State and we had tea or coffee with a friend. And the deal was done.
Now?
Not so much.
Unless you're China, Russia, North Korea or El Salvador.
Why is that?
Trump claims he reached an agreement for a permanent security pact for Greenland, but Denmark says the agreement doesn't actually exist.

ReplyDeleteDube, That divided by a common language statement was told to me by a neighbor of mine who is Canadian. He would love to move to the US permanently but would have to provide his own healthcare so he won't. His wife is a dual citizen, Ireland and Canadian and needed surgery. The wait in Canada was six month so she went to Ireland to have it. Both of them agree the the Canadian healthcare system is great unless you need healthcare.
