Where's the concern? The questions? The Congressional hearings? The explanations from the POTUS and his Secretary of Defense?

A White House official said Driscoll was asked to stay longer, until after midterms. But Driscoll told the White House he felt like it was time for him to go.
Driscoll is expected to leave the Pentagon in the coming days, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported his resignation."

Here's how corrupt the GOP has become under Trump. Good honorable men are being jettisoned from our military, simply because they disagree with a childlike Sec Def.

But there's more, as there always is with the GOP, and literally all their silent enablers, quiet head nodding supporters and blogging sycophants.
In Texas, the GOP is running scared. Why? Because TX senate candidate Ken Paxton is, according to even some Republicans there, the most corrupt politician they've ever seen. Not just corrupt, the most corrupt. Not just a little corrupt. The most corrupt.
Supporters like Mark Levine, Ted Cruz and more are even online not defending Paxton, but rather telling their supporters we know Paxton's a clown and is a terrible candidate. But turn out and vote for him anyways because without him, we'll lose the Senate.
Think about that, from what used to be the party that argued private immorality disqualifies a person from public leadership. The final nail is now in that coffin, signaling all the hand wringing during the Clinton and other Democratic admins was in fact, just a partisan ploy.
They have now been reduced to begging a felonious, lying president who has cheated on multiple marriages to spend his personal money to "save" the Texas Senate seat and bail out Paxton. And stand by Hegseth.
Your GOP.
The good people of Texas have to make a decision: honor and decency over moral and political corruption. If Paxton prevails, knowing what a morally and politically corrupt human being he is, then I have no hope for this country.

ReplyDeleteCertainly... but conservative Christianity mostly rejected that theology when it was politically expedient. Witness how they crucified MLK for his marriage dalliances... And then Clinton, leading to the moralistic statements from Xtian leaders and politicians that I cited above.
It wasn't until Trump came along that they decided to jettison their prior views and adopt the Cyrus model of the corrupt sinner king, who is used by God for the good of the Kingdom.
They've never explained why the switch, what's different today from the MLK and Clinton eras and how Trump, a la Cyrus, is blessing essentially the church.
It really is 100% partisan and they, along with everyone else, know it. They're just struggling to find a way to explain their personal and corporate corruption and support of it, all for access to power.
The Hebrews tolerated Cyrus, sure. And in return, Cyrus did not wipe them out and let them live. They saw God using him. But the never excused the immorality of his actions the way the conservative evangelical world has done with Trump and the GOP.
There is a difference, whether they choose to accept that reality or not.
What you posted is the truth. MLK, Jr., was a great Civil Rights leader with a sketchy marital fidelity past. Bill Clinton was a policy wonk, and he both balanced the federal budget and paid down a portion of the publicly held national debt, two things that were very important to the GOP. Not anymore.

Trump has fallen significantly short of his pledged quota to deport one million people per year during his second term.
Barack Obama deported significantly more undocumented people than Donald Trump during an equivalent six-year period in office. Anyone can look this up to verify.
Are you paying attention, skud? You never fail to remind people that the Democrats want "open borders." But that is false. "The Swell Guy," as you've often referred to Mr. Obama, actually in 6 years, equivalent to Trump's 6 years in office, deported more undocumented people than Trump has. And without the Gestapo-like actions taken by Trump's ICE goons. And no Americans citizens were shot and killed in their streets while Mr. Obama was deporting the undocumented.
WE don't have universal health care, our energy costs are high, and food costs are unsustainable.
Women in MAGA states have to bleed out before they can receive normal abortion health care when their pregnancies go bad. Maternal mortality in Texas rose 56% in the first full year following the state's early abortion ban, outpacing the 11% rise seen nationwide during the same timeframe.
So, can anyone tell me how tolerating Trump's moral and political corruption has enhanced life in America?

DeleteNo person I've met across all of my travels in Mexico, including over 30 years, 14 states and countless cities, has ever said they have a right to enter, repopulate, or otherwise immigrate to the US. They believe every country has a right to strong, secure borders.
And they are aware of the Obama deportations and as you all might imagine, the Trump deportations.
They come to the states to work. If they can't get here legally, they try and come illegally, to work. To support their wives, children and families. And they know they can be deported at any moment.
They live with it.
But here's what I've heard the last many months from people there. [Paraphrased] "We get it. We go and if you catch us, you deport us. That's how the game is played. You need workers, we're workers who will do the jobs your ppl don't want, for essentially, chump change.
"And if we get caught, so be it. We'll be back though, because like we need you, you need us."
Just do it humanly they say. Like Obama did. And with dignity.
Scream it from the mountaintops. President Obama is the biggest Deporter in Chief in the history of the US. But he did so humanely.

It is your OPINION, not a fact, that the Democrats did not offer a competent and reasonable choice in the 2024 election. VP Harris had more experience in government than Trump did, even including his second term. Trump was a one-term president at the time who still was ignorant about how government worked and our own American history.
Trump learned nothing during his first term, except how to grift more, lie more, and break laws with impunity, thanks to the SCOTUS.
I'm pretty sure Ms. Harris wouldn't have destroyed 1/3 of the WH, had a wrestlers on the WH lawn, turned the Oval Office into a place that looks like King Midas threw up in it, close down the Kennedy Center after trying to put his name in front of Kennedy's.
