TO THE MAGAs WHO READ MY BLOG AND SOMETIMES COMMENT:
Tell us why you're all so upset with New York City Mayor Mamdani and Dr. El-Sayed, who is campaigning to be the U.S. Senator from Michigan, but not this:
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE are investing $$$$$ for a huge investment return from an American enterprise. Apparently MAGA s have no problem with Muslims pouring money into American corporations to gain billions, but they're warning anyone who'll listen that two AMERICAN men who are practicing Muslims, El-Sayed and Mamdani, are somehow threats?
If El-Sayed wins the US Senate seat, he'll be ONE of 100, in what will probably be an almost evenly divided Senate of red and blue seats. Such control!!
Mamdani has the same control over NYC as any other mayor of NYC has had.
Why should their "operational control" concern you any more than, say, Ted Cruz's or Mattie Parker's (mayor of Fort Worth, Texas)?
I'd like an explanation, please.
They're all AMERICANS. You got a problem with that?
"An equity stake of nearly 50% inherently secures passive influence. If the merged company requires future capital injections to sustain its heavy debt load, it will remain heavily reliant on the goodwill of its Gulf backers.
Self-Censorship Concerns: Hollywood creatives and journalists within the mega-studio’s core news operations—which include CBS and CNN—face scrutiny over potential self-censorship. Critics worry that studio executives may quietly avoid greenlighting political documentaries, news segments, or films that portray the Saudi, Qatari, or Emirati regimes in a negative light to safeguard the financial relationship.
Precedent in Sports and Entertainment: This passive-to-active evolution has been observed in global sports. Gulf funds initially entered European soccer and professional golf through arms-length sponsorships or minority stakes before leveraging their financial position to secure outright ownership and sweeping governance overhauls.
Ultimately, the Gulf states are serious about abiding by the "no direct control" mandate because it was the explicit legal prerequisite required to pass U.S. national security reviews and secure FCC approval. However, whether that legal boundary will successfully insulate American media blockbusters and newsrooms from subtler forms of economic influence remains a subject of intense debate.
So, according to JoeCon, we're to trust the foreign Muslims, Saudis', Qataris', and the UAE's pure business interests (ROI), but distrust/ or suspect the two AMERICAN Muslims" "operational control?"
Heck Shaw... Many MAGA fans do not believe Muslims should even be living in the US. Witness the past posts here from noted the Mothership Racist Intellectuals Mustang and Sam Huntington.
Now, I'm a reasonable intelligent guy, so I know that while those two guys, much like the dearly departed AOW may not represent the majority of MAGA, or the GOP, that view is indeed ascendant in the party right now.
Need more evidence not from the clowns I referenced above? How about these... Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN) explicitly posted,... "Muslims don't belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie." Representative Randy Fine (FL) stated publicly, "We need more Islamophobia, not less. Fear of Islam is rational." And Indiana, Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith publicly referred to Islam as a "demonic death cult."
So, can anyone tell me why those voices are silent now? Now that three Muslim led countries, filled with people many MAGA conservatives believe cannot assimilate into American culture and are instructed by their faith to lie so they can take over the world, how can MAGA Conservatives not voice displeasure with President Trump and call him Satan?
As they surely would a Dem who made this deal happen.
"The only way that firewall is conceivably enforceable is if the FCC assigns an independent monitor to sit in on every meeting, taps every burner phone, and is invited to every Signal chat between any representative of Paramount and its new financial backers. The point is not that that should happen, but that this condition is patently unenforceable. Which is all to say, the FCC just approved the sale of a crown jewel of the entertainment and media industry to foreign interests that relish in exercising economic, political, and regional military leverage over the United States. All based on a pinky promise.”
“The reality is that ownership alone, even of nonvoting, indirect equity interests, creates its own financial leverage and influence,” he warned. “To the extent Paramount’s new owners are prohibited from exercising influence, it’s patently paradoxical. Paramount won’t approve anything that risks losing half of its financial backing, including criticizing a regime that not too long ago ordered the execution of a Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashoggi, who became an international figurehead for politically persecuted journalists.”
“Does anyone think CBS’ new leadership has the will, much less fortitude, to prioritize truth over financial ruin?” he added. “If this all sounds like a total mess, that’s because it is. And it only becomes doubly worse if Paramount acquires Warner Bros.-Discovery.”
Joe Conservative Naaah. Bernie's just a dumb commie that doesn't understand economics.
Is Bernie Sanders a "dumb Commie?"
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is sometimes referred to as a "dumb commie" by political critics and internet commentators who oppose his economic platform.
However, this characterization is factually inaccurate regarding his actual political affiliation: Sanders does not identify as a communist. Instead, he explicitly identifies as a democratic socialist. His ideology is heavily inspired by Scandinavian social democracy, which operates within a capitalist framework rather than seeking to abolish it.
Policy Positions: Rather than advocating for state ownership of all production (a core tenet of communism), Sanders advocates for policies such as universal healthcare, tuition-free public college, higher taxes on corporations and billionaires, and stronger labor unions.
That's not Communism. At one point in our history, politicians and citizens of both parties embraced many of Bernie's policies.
You just address everything you don't like with juvenile name-calling. But I understand. It's what folks do when they can't come up with a good response. Trump does that, too, doesn't he.
Wrong again. When people can't come up with a good verbal response, they resort to violence as their response... ala George Floyd riots and every other "mostly peaceful" Leftist protest in history. You would prefer violence to much deserved trolling?
Oh wait, words are "violence" according to the Left now. My bad.
Mamdani has referred to himself as a “proud Muslim,” and he says his identity as a Muslim American is an integral part of his political and personal life. He also says it forms the foundation for his fight against injustice and inequality./

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE MIKE JOHNSON: "My faith informs everything I do" "Go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it. That's my worldview." "If we don't have a heavenly boss who tells us what's right and wrong, then we define it for ourselves."
Johnson mentioned his religion prominently in his acceptance speech, saying God helped elevate him to the top House job.
"I believe that Scripture, the Bible is very clear, that God is the one who raises up those with authority. He raised up each of you. All of us. And I believe that God has ordained and allowed each one of us to be brought here for this specific time," Johnson said after his election.
(“Mike Johnson is a strong conservative, but above all else, he is a strong Christian. He’s not afraid to look to his faith for guidance.")
Mike Johnson claimed an incorporeal being chose him (like Moses) to lead the US House of Reps. and he has stated publicly that God spoke to him and guided him to become Speaker.
So here we have a person who's second in line for the presidency claiming God personally speaks to him!
And you bring up El-Sayed's faith as though we should fear him and it?
Really? REALLY????
Why is a Christian Speaker infusing his politics with his religion okay? But not El-Sayed? Is it only acceptable if Christians or Jews do this? What about Hindus? Buddhists? Jehovah Witnesses? Mormons? Jainists? Sikhs? Shintos?
Does the United States government favor/tolerate ONLY Christian thought, guidance, and influence by Congressmen and women?

Joe... do you believe Bernie, Mamdami and al Sayed, Americans all, are worse for America than having those countries own a major US media, news and information interest?
To answer your question, M, do you think that someone with an anti-American (Islam or Communism) ideology should be allowed to make our laws? How about invest and/or profit in the American economic system (and be converted to it, thereby)?
As for W, is legitimacy the same as "truth". And does the US Justice system provide legitimacy, or actual justice?
Dave, As you see, Joe CAN'T answer my question. And no, deflection by throwing back more questions is not an answer. His authoritarian brain can't admit Trump is a liar. His "truth" must be whatever Trump says it is. Just don't call them a cult.
Joe Conservative To answer your question, M, do you think that someone with an anti-American (Islam or Communism) ideology
Just curious, who is/are the politicians who are anti-American or hold Islamic or Communist ideologies? Please name them and give us the evidence for labeling them anti-American, Islamists, or Communists. If you can't do that simple task, then what you imply is nothing more than your fearful bigotry and unsupported smears. IOW, BS.
Well Shaw, does El Sayed have a Mortgage, or an Islamic (sharia) mortgage? Do mosques mediate his business and family disputes, or do civil courts? I think that answers your question.
And you got your answer, M. Life isn't lived in black & white.
You didn't answer my question. You asked me two questions.
"In a 2009 interview with The New York Times, El-Sayed shared that as a 24-year-old medical student purchasing a $123,000 condominium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he chose a Sharia-compliant home financing arrangement through University Bank. Because Islamic religious law prohibits paying or earning interest (riba), his arrangement was structured to avoid traditional interest-based lending. El-Sayed stated at the time that he did so out of a personal sense of religious "obligation".
Regarding his legal disputes: civil courts mediate his business and family disputes, not mosques. As a citizen and a political candidate running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, El-Sayed is fully bound by American civil jurisprudence. While his personal faith guides his private moral conduct, his campaign has publicly affirmed that he "believes in the separation of church and state" and firmly opposes any efforts to write religious codes into American law. Additionally, public financial disclosures required for his Senate campaign—including assets like rental and retail properties—are submitted directly to and overseen by U.S. civil regulatory authorities."
Why do you question his religious requirements for financing a mortgage? Did you do that for any Orthodox Jews who served in Congress, Joe Lieberman, say?
Jewish law prohibits the charging or paying of any interest at all (Ribbit) on loans between fellow Jews, regardless of how low or high the rate is.
Islamic religious law prohibits paying or earning interest (riba), his arrangement was structured to avoid traditional interest-based lending. El-Sayed stated at the time that he did so out of a personal sense of religious "obligation".
What does El-Sayed's personal religious laws have to do with his becoming a Senator? Do you worry about Fundamentalist Christians' personal religious obligations? Hindus? Catholics? If so, why?
Shaw, What JC really means is "its OK if Republicans do it". Religious extremism, lies, crimes, overturning elections through violence, calling people they hate commies, claiming God's endorsement, etc. You know, the way the founders intended.
I asked AI if American Muslims want Islam to take over the U.S. and its government:
"American Muslims do not want Islam to “take over” the United States. Demographic data, academic research, and public opinion polling consistently show that the vast majority of American Muslims seek integration, religious freedom, and participation in the existing American democratic system rather than the subversion of it.
The narrative of a "Muslim takeover" or the forced imposition of Sharia law is widely recognized by sociologists, political scientists, and civil rights organizations as an unfounded conspiracy theory.
Extensive polling by organizations like the Pew Research Center and other independent research institutes shows that American Muslims strongly embrace their national identity. Roughly 95% of American Muslims report being proud to be American, and 85% believe in the American dream. A substantial majority (76%) view the U.S. as one of the greatest countries in the world.
Rather than seeking to replace American law, Muslim civic and legal groups frequently rely on the U.S. Constitution—particularly the First Amendment—to protect their right to practice their faith safely and freely, alongside Americans of all other religious backgrounds.
Participation in Democracy: The growing presence of Muslims in public life—such as the election of Muslim mayors, city council members, and members of Congress—reflects standard American civic participation. These candidates run on mainstream political platforms (focusing on local infrastructure, education, housing, and civil rights) rather than religious mandates.
People like JoeCon and his friends on the Mother Ship promote hatred, fear, and false information about 1.3 billion people. The fanatical Islamist fundamentalists are a plague on all freedom-loving humans, and almost every religion has suffered with some form of murderous fanatics. Human beings bring that to almost all religious and social forms they participate in.
If there's any political structure that could ameliorate this plague, maybe it would be a democratic form of government. I don't know.
It's foolish to think we can rid the world of Islam or any religion that people dislike. Humans are hard-wired to believe in gods and goddesses.
Crikey, I grew up hearing the Jews were going to take over the world and that they've infiltrated all parts of American society! That was and is bigotry's old friend, antisemitism (and it's still with us).
I could name you dozens of horrid times in our history when Christians slaughtered human beings for whatever reasons they believed God approved of: Native Americans, African-Americans, for example.
How easily people forget the evil humans do in the name of their gods.
JoeCon wrote: "El-Sayed and Mamdani have/ seek 'operational control.' '"
I asked Joe Conservative to respond to why he's concerned with "operational control" by El-Sayed, an American, who, if he wins a US Senate seat, would be only one of 100 US Senators (and a junior Senator) in what will probably be a closely divided red and blue Senate. Define what El-Sayed's "operational control" would be.
JoeCon didn't answer.
I also want to know what sort of "operational control" Mamdani has now that is different from other New York City mayors.
JoeCon didn't answer.
Also, does anyone who isn't naive actually believe that the Saudis, Qataris, and the UAE (Abu Dhabi) would not have ANY influence (while holding 50% interest in the deal) after investing collectively $24 billion? Especially since the people he hangs out with over on the Mother Ship swear that all Muslims are liars and that their religion compels them to LIE to fool the infidels so that they can conquer and rule over them.
At the heart of MAGA and conservatism's worry is an overwhelming fear they may lose control. Which will undoubtedly happen at some point when the time is right.
What cons seem not to understand is that everything in life is impermanent and that life is a continuous flow of ever changing circumstances and conditions.
As a result they suffer the strong attachment to their fixed beliefs as well as their aversion to everything that does not support those beliefs or attempts to change them.
Cons are guilty of the very things they accuse Muslims of.

They simply keep fueling their delusions.

ReplyDeleteI asked Joe Conservative to respond to why he's concerned with "operational control" by El-Sayed, an American, who, if he wins a US Senate seat, would be only one of 100 US Senators (and a junior Senator) in what will probably be a closely divided red and blue Senate.
ReplyDeleteWhat cons seem not to understand is that everything in life is impermanent and that life is a continuous flow of ever changing circumstances and conditions.
As a result they suffer the strong attachment to their fixed beliefs as well as their aversion to everything that does not support those beliefs or attempts to change them.
Cons are guilty of the very things they accuse Muslims of.
