Trump's acting on his hatred led to another of the Supreme Courts terrible and un-American decisions upholding Trump's Muslim travel ban after his administration put a fig leaf of "national security" over his flaming religious animus.
He'd do the same to Jews too in a heartbeat. He recently said if he lost this election, it would be because of the Jews. Blame the Jews! Does that sound familiar?
This is what the Democratic Party is up against with Trump activating these manufactured laughable ideas into real grievances.

If Harris wins, there will be violence. Because the MAGA crowd cannot and will not openly say all political violence where people are physically hurt, injured or killed is wrong and un American.

Grey, How is there an effort to inhibit a free and fair election by anyone. Is it making sure the voter is a citizen or is it something else. NO citizen is denied voting and there are several ways to vote so they can't use the lack of transportation as an excuse. We have voting at the poll's, early voting, absentee and if all else fails they can request a ride. Granted illegals crossing the border may not be able to vote, unless they live in chicago, but other than which US Citizen cannot vote.

Why would closing polling places only affect democrats. Is it that you assume you own the minority community which seems to be the democrats position. If you want to vote you can and saying they closed my polling place so I can't vote is an excuse not a reason. I have had polling locations change in every city I have lived in so I guess they are discriminating against me.

As to the original topic question, how do we explain MAGA, I have an idea. It's not all encompassing but it sheds light. The madness of King George. Back in the day while King George at the end of his reign was wildly unpopular he still had court toadies who would go out of their way to prove their devotion to the mad king. Power is power after all which meant no act was too debased, no thought too slavish. Some people need to be a joiner so badly they'll follow a mad king just to belong.
Doesn't help that the MAGA base are extremely religious, taught from birth to obey their voices of authority. If the voices hadn't hooked their Presidential Team plans to the MAGA-sphere perhaps things would have been different.
Or at least that's what I see here/now. I still think Trump is the front man but his base is absolutely devoted. They will do what he, or his surrogates, tell them to do.
