NYTimes: "In a tense appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists convention, former President Donald J. Trump said Vice President Kamala Harris now wants to be “known as Black.” 

The White House called his comments “repulsive.”

Trump's own people ended the interview. 

This wasn't the win Trump's team wanted it to be.

It was a rolling disaster. 

NYTimes: "One clip I would expect from this event that we will see in future advertising is when ABC's Rachel Scott asked, “My question is on those rioters who assaulted officers. Would you pardon those people?” And Trump replied without hesitation, “Oh absolutely, I would.” 

There are animated discussions going on among the Black journalists in the crowd. 

NYTimes: "Trump was clearly irritated by the tough questioning by some of the journalists. As he left the stage he was shaking his head and gesturing. 

Trump’s interview ended abruptly as Harris Faulkner started to ask a question about Project 2025. Trump quickly posed for the photo spray then left the stage."

Trump was supposed to be asked questions for an hour at NABJ. He was pulled off stage by his own people after just 35 minutes.

JD Vance's 2021 comment that Vice-President Kamala Harris and other Democrats were "a bunch of childless cat ladies miserable at their own lives" resurfaced after Trump selected the Ohio senator as the Republican vice-presidential candidate.

Dear Readers, 

Nine years ago I did not think I would be celebrating this birthday. I had been diagnosed with a rare cancer (my 4th battle with it), but the geniuses at Massachusetts General Hospital had other ideas, and they used medical science to help me battle this cancer, and here I am.

I learned through the years that I've lived with Lynch Syndrome that the most precious gift we can give ourselves is gratitude. With gratitude comes love and peace and all the other positive emotions that see us through our most difficult times in life.

Today is a birthday I never thought I'd reach. But here I am, filled with gratitude for you, too, my readers, and love.

There will be a lot of this sort of misogyny from weak, frightened little men:

JD Vance says that Kamala Harris is a “childless cat lady” who is “miserable” with her life because she didn’t have children, and that not having children means that she doesn’t have “a direct stake” in America. 

"Miserable" with her life? She's one of the most well-known women in the world who is admired by millions and adored by her husband and step-children.

Vance probably doesn't know that George Washington himself never had any biological children, yet I can't imagine Vance saying a stupid thing like he did above about our first and most revered POTUS.

Remember, a you-know-what load of this sort of angry, frightened, dehumanizing language about Harris will be heard over the months leading up to the 2024 election. And it will be said by insecure little men and by women who disrespect themselves as well as their own sex.

Ignore it. And understand where it is coming from:

A political party that is supporting a man who is a serial adulterer who not only cheated on all his wives, but even cheated on his playmate mistress with a porn star; and his VP choice , who believes women should stay in abusive marriages; who is against no-fault divorce; and is for state-forced pregnancies, even for 10-year old girls who've been raped by a relative.
