Transformation...

When you realize how much this election has transformed this country....it is overwhelming.

Until the conservatives realize that the torch has been passed to another generation...

tao,

I'm still crying.

How fortunate for us to live in these times.

Socialism, Tao?

There are conservatives in every generation. And they know that much of Obama's victory is the fault of a GOP that has failed to stick to those conservative principles.

So tonight I can congratulate President-Elect Obama.

Tomorrow the real battle begins.

Shaw -
(Tips cap and raises glass...) We did it, my friend - I don't recall EVER being really excited about voting, and I've never been prouder to be an American. We ARE that city on the hill, and we will indeed take it from there.
love that dirty water,

What a great night it was Shaw. Hopefully just the beginning. I still can't believe it.

Actually the GOP stuck to its 'conservative principles' in spades. Unfettered markets. Deregulation across the board. Overseas adventurism. Two, count 'em two wars underway. Attempts to strengthen 'Christian' values in the public sphere. Endless attempts to meddle in reproductive rights issues.

Torture.

There's lots more but who cares? Time to clean up after the Conservative/GOP binge.

Cheers.

Arthur, do I need to leave you a link to a dictionary so you can look up conservatism and then a link for all the ways the GOP has failed to follow it?

No need. I've read/watched Conservatives such as Bill Kristol.Rich Lowrey. Bill Bennett. Sean Hannity et. al. lead the cheers for Bush and the GOP these past too many years. I'm afraid you'll have to better than 'Bush wasn't conservative enough'.

Sorry.

We deregulated. We set the markets free. We brought god back. And we got the results one would expect.

Cheers!

Arthur: I'm going to do a few posts on Bush's legacy in a few weeks. The list of crap he duct-taped the label of conservative on under his ass-backwards "compassionate conservative" bs line is going to probably be a post of its own.
