If Trump Keeps This Up...

the only people who'll be voting for him are the regular fanboys and girls of the Daddy blog and their 3 sock puppets:

Donald Trump, The Whiner:

The Media Has Had Enough Of Donald Trump As The First Amendment Strikes Back

At his press conference, Trump said, “I have to tell you. The press is so dishonest and so unfair.” Trump whined, “I sent people checks of a lot of money, and we’re going to give you the names right now, which is what you want, and instead of being like thank you very much, Mr. Trump or Trump, did a good job. Everyone’s saying who got it, who got it, and you make me look vert bad I have never received such bad publicity for doing such a good job, so I will give you the names if that’s what you want. ”

To recap: Trump said he raised $6 million for veterans. He didn't raise $6 million for veterans. He believes pointing this out is dishonest.

.@DanaBashCNN@KateBolduan, and @JohnBerman, visibly exasperated, are doing a great job pushing back on this Trump lunacy right now.

When asked why he is angry about being asked questions about how much he raised for veterans, Trump replied:

"I think that it’s bothersome because I love the vets," Trump said, noting that he worked hard to raise money for veterans. "I think when the press portrays it differently, the press is being very dishonest, so I don’t like that. I don’t like dishonesty."

Said the man who has THE HIGHEST DISHONESTY RATING of all the candidates running for the presidential nomination -- even Hillary!

Trump lies even about disliking dishonesty!

Trump is the most disliked and the most dishonest candidate to ever run for the presidency, and he belongs to the Republican Party.

One of the Planet's Geniuses, Physicist Stephen Hawking, Talks About Donald Trump

UPDATE BELOW

STEPHEN HAWKING WANTS THE WORLD TO HEAR HIS MESSAGE ABOUT DONALD TRUMP

"Stephen Hawking is probably one of the most intelligent figures alive today. His formidable body of scientific work has helped humanity understand some of the biggest mysteries about the universe as we know it. With popular books like A Brief History of Time, The Grand Design, and The Universe in a Nutshell, the world-renowned physicist has single-handedly become synonymous with the word “genius” not just in the world of science, but in popular culture as well.

And yet, even he cannot fathom what it is that has made Donald Trump the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party in the 2016 presidential elections.

The British physicist appeared on ITV on Monday morning, claiming that Trump “is a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”

Apparently he doesn’t understand much of the Republican Party’s voter base at the moment. Hawking is not necessarily shy when it comes to politics. In fact, he is an outspoken critic of neoliberal capitalism, often aligning himself with the political left when speaking on social, economic, or political matters."

Donald Trump, as many have noted, does appeal to the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR, what we'll refer to as the LCDs. Just visit any rabid right TeaPublican blog to see how low and common are the people who support him and the people who witness Trump's embarrassingly mindless rants and insults as well as his excruciatingly uninformed blather on domestic and foreign issues.

Remember, also, that among his biggest fans are the poorly educated and white supremacists.

Now let's wait to see how long it will take the thin-skinned Trumper to mock Stephen Hawking's ALS and make his LCDs fall all over themselves cheering.

UPDATE:

If you read the rabid right wing blogs and news sites, you'll learn that many of them are willing to defend the indefensible bigotry and political ignorance of Donald J. Trump and vote for him because they actually believe he is the better alternative to either Hillary, Sanders, or Johnson.  This is the position of a moral coward -- someone who is willing to sacrifice his or her principles for the sake of a political party.  Michael Gerson has a warning for those moral cowards:

"Republicans are testing out a theory. “What Trump is doing,” argues Peter Wehner of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, “is exactly what Rush Limbaugh and others have been begging Republican presidential candidates to do — to run a brutal, scorched-earth, anything-goes campaign. They now have their man.”

So, is the nation longing for more invective, more viciousness, more accusations of scandal and conspiracy? A strong plurality of voters in Republican primaries seemed to agree. We will now see how the national electorate responds.

As a starting move, Trump has accused Bill Clinton of rape and intimated that the Clintons are guilty of murder. It is hard to imagine going lower from here, but Trump will surely manage.

Some Republicans keep expecting Trump to finally remove the mask of misogyny, prejudice and cruelty and act in a more presidential manner. But it is not a mask. It is his true face.

Good Republican leaders making the decision to support Trump will end up either humiliated by the association, or betrayed and attacked for criticizing the great leader.

Trump leaves no other options."

Memorial Day 2016

One of the most beautiful bronze relief sculptures I have ever seen is the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial on Boston Common.  It is a touching tribute to 54th Regiment and to the men who gave their lives in the Civil War for the Union.  Robert Lowell's poem is a perfect description of the memorial.  I love this bronze, and I stop to admire it each time I walk to Boston Common.

Robert Lowell - For the Union Dead"Relinquunt Omnia Servare Rem Publicam."

The old South Boston Aquarium stands
in a Sahara of snow now. Its broken windows are boarded.
The bronze weathervane cod has lost half its scales.
The airy tanks are dry.

Once my nose crawled like a snail on the glass;
my hand tingled
to burst the bubbles
drifting from the noses of the cowed, compliant fish.

My hand draws back. I often sigh still
for the dark downward and vegetating kingdom
of the fish and reptile. One morning last March,
I pressed against the new barbed and galvanized

fence on the Boston Common. Behind their cage,
yellow dinosaur steamshovels were grunting
as they cropped up tons of mush and grass
to gouge their underworld garage.

Parking spaces luxuriate like civic
sandpiles in the heart of Boston.
A girdle of orange, Puritan-pumpkin colored girders
braces the tingling Statehouse,

shaking over the excavations, as it faces Colonel Shaw
and his bell-cheeked Negro infantry
on St. Gaudens' shaking Civil War relief,
propped by a plank splint against the garage's earthquake.

Two months after marching through Boston,
half the regiment was dead;
at the dedication,
William James could almost hear the bronze Negroes breathe.

Their monument sticks like a fishbone
in the city's throat.
Its Colonel is as lean
as a compass-needle.

He has an angry wrenlike vigilance,
a greyhound's gentle tautness;
he seems to wince at pleasure,
and suffocate for privacy.

He is out of bounds now. He rejoices in man's lovely,
peculiar power to choose life and die--
when he leads his black soldiers to death,
he cannot bend his back.

On a thousand small town New England greens,
the old white churches hold their air
of sparse, sincere rebellion; frayed flags
quilt the graveyards of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The stone statues of the abstract Union Soldier
grow slimmer and younger each year--
wasp-waisted, they doze over muskets
and muse through their sideburns . . .

Shaw's father wanted no monument
except the ditch,
where his son's body was thrown
and lost with his "niggers."

The ditch is nearer.
There are no statues for the last war here;
on Boylston Street, a commercial photograph
shows Hiroshima boiling

over a Mosler Safe, the "Rock of Ages"
that survived the blast. Space is nearer.
When I crouch to my television set,
the drained faces of Negro school-children rise like balloons.

Colonel Shaw
is riding on his bubble,
he waits
for the blessèd break.

The Aquarium is gone. Everywhere,
giant finned cars nose forward like fish;
a savage servility
slides by on grease.

Shock Poll: Trump Drastically Underperforming With Veterans

George W. Bush led John Kerry, among veterans, by 14 percent.

John McCain led Barack Obama, among veterans, by 22 percent.

Mitt Romney led Barack Obama, among veterans, by 24 percent.

Donald Trump leads Hillary among veterans by less than half of that, just 9 percent in a new poll,

and there’s every reason to believe that lead will shrink more and more, before election day. The poll ended on May 24, just as news hit that Trump’s sham veterans event in January had shortchanged veterans groups by millions of dollars.

Given that news, there’s every reason to believe that his lead among veterans has become even more meager in the days after the poll concluded.

The other thing to note is that the veterans community is overwhelmingly made up of white men, especially older white men, from past generations of veterans.

Trump’s issues with women, Latinos, and others does not explain the precipitous drop for the GOP nominee. He is undoubtedly under-performing with white men in the veterans community, too.

President Obama's Hiroshima Speech

A fitting speech for this Memorial Day weekend.

Peace.

The Loathsome Jackass in New Mexico

Friday's post below highlights this past week in wingnuttia.

What the post doesn't cover is what Donald Trump did on Tuesday while he was visiting New Mexico:

Trump’s New Mexico setback

The insults Donald Trump hurled at GOP New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez at his rally in Albuquerque, N.Mex., on Tuesday night says a lot about his judgment, his temperament, his wisdom and his utter lack of discipline.

What made him think launching into a clumsy diatribe about a fellow Republican — and one who is an established star in a swing state, no less – was a good idea? What was he trying to accomplish? Does Trump think the way to get people on board is to insult them in public? Does he really think elected Republicans are his vassals? Does he really think they need him more than he needs them?

Trump’s remarks have instantly become the insult heard around the party. Martinez is exactly what the Republican Party needs more of. She is a popular female, Hispanic, conservative leader who is currently the chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association. She is not a GOP opponent, she is not a bothersome journalist, and she certainly shouldn’t be an enemy of Trump.

Below is the video of Trump in New Mexico, insulting New Mexico's Latina governor, Susana Martinez.

Trump is so self-engrossed, so narcissistic that apparently he doesn't see anything wrong with smearing and insulting a Republican governor who would appeal to Latinos and women -- both groups where he is intensely disliked -- okay, hated. So he goes to Governor Martinez's state and acts like a loathsome jackass, because that is Donald J. Trump's essential character.

This is what the GOP did to itself.

Somebody's Karma Just Ran Over Ken Starr

Amazing.

Baylor Removes Ken Starr As President Amid Sexual Assault Scandal

This investigation revealed the University's mishandling of reports in what should have been a supportive, responsive and caring environment for students,” Richard Willis, chair of the Baylor Board of Regents, said in a statement.

“The depth to which these acts occurred shocked and outraged us. Our students and their families deserve more, and we have committed our full attention to improving our processes, establishing accountability and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to support former, current and future students.”

In the statement about the removal of Starr and Briles, the board of regents summarized findings from an outside investigation into the how university officials handled claims of sexual assault. The school had been accused of failing to address claims made by at least six female students that members of the football team had committed sexual assault between 2009 and 2016.

The investigation found that the university's process for responding to and supporting those who made the claims of sexual assault was inadequate and that university officials "discouraged some complainants from reporting or participating in student conduct processes and in one instance constituted retaliation against a complainant for reporting sexual assault," according to the board of regents.

Starr, an attorney known for leading a string of politicized investigations into former President Bill Clinton's administration, will also remain as a law professor at Baylor University.

State Department Report On Email Vindicates Clinton Rather Than Nails Her

From Forbes Magazine:

The report released Wednesday by the State Department Inspector General on its email records management is being reported as heavy-duty criticism of former Secretary Hillary Clinton.

However, the report has more in it that vindicates Clinton than nails her.

It does not add any new serious charges or adverse facts.

And, it shows she was less out of line with her predecessors, notably Colin Powell, than has been charged. Powell’s handling of his email was so similar, in fact, that when House Republicans drag this issue through hearings up to Election Day, Powell should be called as a witness – a witness for Clinton.

To put it differently, she is having a double standard applied to her.

Here are five key aspects of the report.

The five key aspects HERE.

Trump Talks About The Clintons -- 2008

CAUTION. HEADS EXPLODING ALL OVER GOOPERLAND!

State Department Deals A Death Blow To The Republican Party’s Clinton Email Scandal

A State Department audit has faulted Hillary Clinton and previous secretaries of state [that would mean Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice] for poorly managing email and other computer information and slowly responding to new cybersecurity risks.

The review came after revelations Clinton exclusively used a private email account and server while in office. Clinton is now the likely Democratic presidential nominee. The problem for Republicans is that the basis of their “scandal” is that Clinton did something different and more criminal than previous Secretaries of State.

The audit shows that the problems with email in the State Department existed long before Clinton and that State suffers from many of the same issues that federal departments face when confronted with a combination of quickly changing technology and outdated policies.

The TGoopers' dreams of seeing Secretary Clinton frog-marched in Orange to jail has been bashed, dashed, and smashed.

Another instance of the rabid right being rabidly wrong about. They never disappoint.

(Cue the FAUX NOOZ whiners saying the fix was in for Secretary Clinton.)

DONALD TRUMP: "Climate change is bullsh*t!"

And Trump also calls it a hoax, except it's not a hoax in Ireland where he wants to build a sea wall to protect his golf course from the rising seas due to climate change:

Donald Trump applied for a permit to build a seawall for one of his golf courses in Ireland

The application specifically cites global warming as a reason the seawall is needed

The Republican presidential candidate publicly says he doesn’t believe in climate change and has called it a hoax.

And this:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has repeatedly called climate change a hoax and even referred to it as bull**** on his Twitter account.

But that didn’t stop him from citing climate change as the reason for building a seawall for his golf course in Ireland, according to a permit application for the wall obtained by Politico.

The permit application specifically cites global warming as a reason for building the seawall, as well as rising sea levels and extreme weather.

So according to Trump, climate change is happening, but only in Ireland.

But it's "bullsh*t" and a "hoax" where he doesn't own a golf course.

Got that?

The U.S. Senator who said this about Donald J. Trump,

Lindsey Graham (Hypocrite Extraordinaire -- SC),

[Trump is a]"race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot"; a man who lacks both presidential temperament and chief-executive judgment; a man who has "conned" the GOP; a man who had either shot or poisoned the nominating process; a man who "disturbs" and "scares the hell out of me"; a man who "is the most unprepared person I've ever met to be commander in chief."

Is now getting behind the race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot and con man who is the most unprepared person he's ever met to be commander in chief and is supporting Trump for President of the United States.

This is why people detest the current T-GOP and why it has a 20% approval rating by the American people:

  • They have no core values
  • They have no core convictions
  • They're not loyal to America
  • They are loyal to a political party that is rotten to the core.

Of Bare Arms and Bare Asses

h/t DailyKos:

Hypocritical right wingers trashed First Lady Michelle Obama because she bared her arms..."I guess to get millions of voters, the right has shown that all you have to do is be a bully, threaten violence and have a wife show her ass." --DailyKos

I wonder what Mrs. Trump's official photo will be if she's the next FLOTUS. She does have many dishy ones to choose from.

Mrs. Trump was a successful fashion model, and she had the right to show off all of her feminine assets as part of that job. That was what she did for a living. Good for her and the freedom she had to choose to be whatever she wanted to be.

But that's NOT what this post is about.

What this blog post is about is the hypocrisy of the Family Values Right who criticized and denigrated everything Michelle Obama wore and how she comported herself in public as America's First Lady. Now there's a possibility of having a First Lady of the United States who has many, many photos like the one below. Should she become FLOTUS, Melania Trump will be a role model for young girls and women, just like Michelle Obama became a role model for our daughters.

My Italian nonna used to say "Never spit in the wind, it'll come back and hit you in the face."

That's what this post is about. The hypocrites who savaged everything about Michelle Obama need to examine what that hatred was based on.  If those hypocrites can accept Melania Trump's past as a highly paid semi-nude fashion model, they need to examine what made them lose their minds over Michelle Obama's accomplishments as a graduate of two Ivy League schools, her law degree, and her fashion choices.

I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with Mrs. Obama's bare arms.

COMMA, COMMA, COMMA CHAMELEON

Or how a comma changes everything:

From the anti-homosexual Republican Party of Texas platform:

Homosexuality is a chosen behavior that is contrary to the fundamental unchanging truths that has been ordained by God in the Bible, recognized by our nations founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.

From Reuters:

The plank that was approved by delegates at the party's convention this month reads:

"Homosexuality is a chosen behavior that is contrary to the fundamental unchanging truths that has been ordained by God in the Bible, recognized by our nations founders, and shared by the majority of Texans."

Lone Star Q, which describes itself as the state's No. 1 source for LGBT news, asked on Twitter on Wednesday to have a "grammar debate" over the wording.

In response, grammarians pointed out that placement of the final comma in the plank could lead to understanding it to mean that homosexuality is a chosen behavior shared by the majority of Texans.

They also noted that "nations" should have an apostrophe and that by using "has been," the plank gives the impression that homosexuality has been ordained by God.

Party officials did not respond to requests to comment.

Trump on the Issues -- Part II -- His Promise to Deport 11 Million Undocumented People

is either a stupid campaign promise  or a deliberate lie.  Why?

Let's have Michael Chertoff, the head of Homeland Security under President George W. Bush explain it to you:

"I can’t even begin to picture how we would deport 11 million people in a few years where we don’t have a police state, where the police can’t break down your door at will and take you away without a warrant," said Michael Chertoff [former secretary of Homeland Security].

To avoid racial profiling, any American could expect to be stopped and asked for papers. Mr. Trump has said he would triple ICE’s deportation officers, to 15,000 from about 5,000. But even if that could be accomplished quickly … it would still be insufficient, experts said.

Existing [detention] facilities, with about 34,000 beds, would have to be expanded to hold at least 300,000. The federal government would have to open dozens of emergency courts and hire hundreds of judges.

The millions of immigrants from Central American countries, China, the Philippines, India and other noncontiguous nations would have to be flown home at the federal government’s expense. The American Action Forum, a conservative-leaning research group, calculated the federal outlay to be at least $400 billion, and then only if the deportations were stretched over 20 years

[A] 40-foot-tall concrete wall using a "post and panel" system that went 10 feet below the ground — to minimize tunneling — would cost at least $26 billion [not $10 billion, as Mr. Trump has asserted].

The logistics would be nightmarish, including multiple concrete casting sites and temporary housing for a crew of 1,000 workers if the job were to be completed within Mr. Trump’s first four-year term.

Maintenance would be an additional recurring expense.

Donald Trump PROMISED to get rid of 11 million people. Under our democratic Republic, this cannot be done -- it can, however, be done under a police state.

The people who support Trump and actually believe his bullpuckey must be bigger fools than he is, if they believe he can keep his promise.

If Trump knows this and continues to tell the American people it will be done, he's suckering those who believe him into voting for him.

He. Will. Never. Keep. That. Promise.

Meanwhile, in America.  This.

MELANIA TRUMP: VOTE FOR MY HUSBAND. HE'S NOT HITLER!

From Booman Tribune:

It's Not Like He's Hitler

by BooMan

You know that talk people have with a battered woman about her abusive boyfriend? You know the one. The one where she’s gets her back up and begins defending her tormentor? What is it she always says? Does it sound a little something like this?

“We know the truth. He’s not Hitler. He wants to help America. He wants to unite people. They think he doesn’t, but he does.” Melania Trump, in an interview with Du Jour.

Sorry, but I gotta call bullshit.

When your wife is reduced to insisting that you’re not Hitler, it’s time for her to get a protective order and move the f**k out.

It’s too late for the GOP, but the rest of us still have time.

TRUMP:  He's not Hitler.

Violinist Itzhak Perlman cancels performance over LGBT law

I have always loved this man and have had the pleasure of hearing and seeing him perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

 Bravo Itzhak Perlman!

We salute you for standing up to bigots!

Not only are you a great artist, but you are a profoundly decent human being.

Violinist Itzhak Perlman cancels performance over LGBT law

World-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman said he canceled his Wednesday performance with the North Carolina Symphony after he was told he would not be able to include a personal statement opposing the state's new law limiting antidiscrimination policies for LGBT people in the event program.

In an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday, Perlman said he will not perform in North Carolina until the law is reversed.... Perlman had said he wanted to proceed with the concert to support the 66 professional musicians employed by the symphony in Raleigh.

He said he intended to donate the concert proceeds to LGBT advocacy group Equality North Carolina following the lead of musicians like Cyndi Lauper and comedian Louis C.K.

But Perlman reversed the decision Tuesday after he said symphony management told him they could not print his opposition to the bill in the program.

Please enjoy one of the planet's greatest violinists:

Wednesday is Trump Hump Day

I wonder if any of the Trump supporters have daughters.

Who are the women in their lives? How can they support an ageing, overstuffed playboy  like Trump? Who would allow their wives, daughters, sisters, nieces, anywhere near this disgusting louche?

This is what their hero thinks of girls and women. To Trump, women are objects to be looked at, used, and discarded when their usefulness is over -- oh, except for his daughter, Ivanka, whose "hotness" he brags about to anyone who will listen.

Compare and contrast Mr. Obama extolling women and girls for who they are and their potential to do great things and Donald J. Trump, who tells you a girl's or a woman's worth is in the size of her breasts.

Evangelical Christians and Trump

To Evangelical Christians, character matters, but not if a politician has an "R" (even a recent "R") after his or her name. Trump recently said his supporters would vote for him even if he stood in the middle of the street and killed someone.

Apparently he knows what he's talking about because the Christian Evangelicals who say they care about the sanctity of marriage and family values are supporting a man who is a self-admitted adulterer, an egregious liar, a mocker of people with disabilities, anti-woman, and a nasty, vengeful tweeting boor.

Those Evangelical Christians who see nothing wrong with Trump are the same Christians who have vilified a true family man, a faithful husband and loving father -- Barack Hussein Obama. So who wouldn't wonder about their sincerity toward their so-called Christian morality and "family values."

They seem to have left that all behind for political expedience.  I call that moral cowardice.

Let this sink in, America!

FUNNIEST NEWS OF THE WEEK:

Limbaugh Says Trump-Palin Team Would Be Dream Ticket, Crush Hillary

(Satire)

According to Kindly Dr. Ben Carson, who heads Donald Trump's "Search for a VP Running Mate Committee" these are the people on the A List:

 John Kasich

 Marco Rubio

 Ted Cruz

 Sarah Palin

 Chris Christie

Kindly Dr. Ben Carson: “Those are all people on our list.”

The guy who brags about surrounding himself with only the best people, the smartest people, the GREATEST people in his administration is considering Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Chris Christie? He's despised in his own state.

"Lyin' Ted Cruz?" He'd choose a guy he calls a LIAR?

And "Little Marco Rubio."

Big Donald and Little Marco 2016. What a ticket.

Let's hope he chooses Sarah Palin. Remember how "skeered" we Liberals were of her in 2008? She's still a scary half-wit, half-term governor, but The Trumper has her on his A List for someone GREAT, someone qualified to be next in line to the presidency.

 Let that sink in, America.

Trump: Hated by America's Allies and Others

Seen in Vilnius, Lithuania:

"The mural called “Make Everything Great Again,” was painted in Lithuania, paying tribute not only to the pervasive terror that most reasonably minded Americans feel, but clearly the rest of the world as well.

‘This graffiti in Vilnius expresses the fear of some Lithuanians that Donald Trump is likely to kowtow to Vladimir Putin and be indifferent to Lithuania’s security concerns,’ continued Kestutis Girnius.' "

Trump is THE most hated American politician on the planet. Remember, the people supporting Trump falsely claimed none of our allies respected or liked Mr. Obama. That was a lie.

The fact is that every major leader in Europe as well as in other countries see Donald Trump as a threat to world peace -- also they think he's a major jackass.

Why REAL Americans Support The Trumper

UPDATE BELOW

Also:  REAL Americans want Trump to be our American preznit because he has class (just ask his mistresses and wives) and he's a true orange red-blooded American.

Donald Trump's long-time butler suggested that the POTUS be murdered. And why shouldn't REAL Americans admire a man who associates with someone who advocates treason on the United States of America.

Afterall, certain TeaPublicans who support Trump have also advocated murdering the president, too!

UPDATE:

What's in The Trumper's tax returns that he doesn't want us to see? We, and a lot of other people, are guessing that the tax returns would show that The Trumper's not as rich as he's been bragging he is, or maybe he stashed some of his money bags in overseas accounts? As long as he continues to withhold his tax returns, we can speculate on all sorts of reasons Donald Trump needs to hide the truth.
