PRESIDENT OBAMA'S ACCOMPLISHEMENTS (AFTER 2 YEARS, 4 MONTHS IN OFFICE)

Here's a link to a huge list of what President Obama has accomplished so far.

The following is only a partial list of impressive accomplishments President Obama has completed in the 2 years 4 months he's been in office, despite the most uncooperative opposition party any president has had to deal with in modern times.

That he was able to achieve this much is a tribute to his skill as a chief executive in this very divided country.

The opposition has lied (and will continue to do so--it's their only weapon against this president's success) about Mr. Obama's record.  So if you're reading on some rightwing blog that Mr. Obama has accomplished nothing, you're reading more rightwing propaganda and disinformation.  This list attests to what President Obama has accomplished, and shows that the rightwingers lie about it.

The opposition can have their own opinions, but not their own facts.  And here are the facts:

Legislative Prowess

Despite the characterizations of some, Obama’s success rate in winning congressional votes on issues was an unprecedented 96.7% for his first year in office. Though he is often cited as superior to Obama, President Lyndon Johnson’s success rate in 1965 was only 93%.

Shaw, you know this is just your interpretation of the facts...

Others are sure to argue, and indeed have, that all of this means nothing...

I think people only want to acknowledge any accomplishments of Obama if they are the ones they wanted.

Too bad we cannot add the end of a couple of wars to that list...

Shaw Kenawe said...

These are not interpretations of facts, Dave. The record shows that these are solid, real accomplishments. But I know what you mean. Even the facts won't disabuse people of their prejudices and misinformation.

I hope before the end of Pres. Obama's first term that we'll see the end of all the wars we're involved in. I hope, I hope, I hope.

Great list, Shaw. One of the things I like about it is that each item is referenced...unlike most of the blah, blah, blah we hear from the other side.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw, now if we could only get the Dems to man up and defend that list...

The GOP is very good at defending and/or manipulating their actions into election bullet points.

The Dems, much less so.

It pains me to see no Dems on the Sunday shows defending the President and pressing the attack. Where are they?

Surely there are a number of items on this list that would be good talking points fodder.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave,

The Obama people SHOULD promote this list and the positive things Mr. Obama has accomplished. But the Obama people are not booked on the Sunday shows.

Conservative Media Bias: Bush Officials Outnumber Obama 6 to 1 On Sunday Shows

Our "liberal media" at work.

That whole meme just doesn't fly anymore. And the above link tells us why.

"Isn’t it funny as hell how fast the Obana LYING ass-kissers come to Bozo’s defense every time I write a negative post about him and that’s just about every day!
The Queen of progressive-Ape-Shit says “The opposition can have their own opinions, but not their own facts. And here are the facts:” And then follows up with a slue of un-factual horse manure that only a progressive-Ape-Shit worshiper would even dream of believing. Look, everyone is entitled to form your own opinions but NOT your own facts .
For the record, this is nonsensical. I have no doubt that this spin minister believes what she writes but this was so unbelievable that even a Liberal would shake their heads when reading it. It reads like a Fairytale. The accomplishments of Obama and his his Hope and Changey thing are a shade from ZERO. Unless you want to refer to the fact that the Muslim world benefits from his accomplishments . Then I might agree. I might suggest to the Queen of Ptrogressiveshit to try rubbing her knees together to make music. That might be a bit more of an accomplishment rather then to try and resurrect the failure of Barack Hussein Obama." --tha malcontent

Shaw, I remember that particular weekend...

My question is why is that so almost every weekend?

At least this weekend there was a former press aide on FOX News Sunday, but, and it pains me to say this, they are about the only folks on Sunday who afford a place at the table for Dem boosters.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dear Anon,

Thanks for tipping me off on "tha malcontent's" cri de coeur. Oh how the poor dear suffers!

It appears that he becomes so agitated with anything I write that HE ends up writing as though he were channeling Sarah Palin. IOW, it's a word salad of incongruous gobbledegook.

I must say, though, how flattered I am that he cares so much.

LOL!

BTW, anon, are you who I think you are? RO?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, it's a mystery to me why so many GOPers get to appear on the Sunday shows. Are the Dems so busy that they can't give the shows the time?

Or is it bias?

Who knows?

billy pilgrim said...

that's a long list. i'm surprised you didn't have him rest on the seventh day.

Shaw Kenawe said...

billy, I'm the one who had to rest after posting that list.

Yes, Jerry C., each item is backed up with a link. Unlike the blather that comes from the wingers who do nothing but whine and bitch about Obama, and produce no evidence for what they claim.

dmarks said...

Just picking one out... I don't think the tax credit for hybrid cars is necessary at all. Just let them sell for the real price. There are plenty of cars that naturally sell for a much lower price.

Another accomplishment: by intervening in Libya, he prevented what surely would have been a bloodbath as Ghadaffi would have retaken Benghazi and the other free territories and slaughtered tens of thousands.

Infidel753 said...

He eliminated the Bush-era restrictions on embryonic stem cell research. He also provided increased federal support for biomedical and stem cell research.

And this will lift far more suffering off of the world than most of us can imagine. Stem cells show great promise in curing Alzheimer's, paralysis, several forms of blindness, and many other curses. If the increased funding for research helps these cures arrive even one year earlier, it will save hundreds of thousands of lives and give better lives to millions.

Policy changes can be reversed by a future reactionary administration, but technological improvements, once established, are here to stay.

Well...we just may have the end of some wars to add to that list soon...starting with the reduction of Forces in Afghanistan. This is an excellent post Shaw :)

Impressive list and thanks for taking the time to dig up all those references. A lot of solid work here, Shaw.

While the right-wing lies are the major concern, we must not overlook the skeptics on the hard left. They are just as short-sighted and negative. I remember publishing a similar list, but no where near as comprehensive, about a year ago and getting slammed by members of this group. "But he hasn't done this and he hasn't done that." "He didn't get this or that." "What took him so long?"

They never want to give the man credit for anything. This was very evident at Networks Nations when Dan Choi and others attacked him for not doing anything for the LGBT community. Completely false. And heaven forbid that they acknowledge the fact that this president has met with a wall of obstructionism from the opposition unlike any president in our history.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Leslie,

The far left's mantra seems to be "I want it all, and I want it now!"

It is unfortunate that Dan Choi attacked the president the way he did, since Mr. Obama has been the most ardent supporter of LGBT rights this country has ever had.

Choi and others have forgotten what President Obama has often repeated, that he is the president of all the people, not just groups that want their agendas passed now.

The far righties are just as nutty, since one of their own has put up a blog post stating that Mr. Obama has accomplished zero, nada, since he became president.

Of course that's a lie and only enforces the fact that the extremes on both sides suffer from Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Claiming that President Obama has accomplished nothing--killing Osama bin Laden is nothing? Passing the ACA, abolishing DADT, stopping torture, allowing stem cell research to recommence are all "nothings" in the eyes of deranged malcontents.

Leslie Parsley said...

Choi showed his ass at NN by insulting an OFA volunteer, ripping up his Obama flyer and yelling at him. A pompous little jerk, imo.

Accomplishing something and having successes are 2 different things.
Too bad none of these accomplishments are helping Americans succeed.

dmarks said...

Anon; I'm conservative, and think several of the things listed are counterproductive/regressive (bad ideas) or ineffective at best. But "none" have worked? Are you so blindly partisan? I could easily pick and defend several of bullet points.

And I bet you would be defending all of them.... if the President had an (R) after his name.
