The GOP Embraces Wang Dang Sweet Poontang Crackpot

Oh they didn't.

Yes they did...

invite a crazy guy, who threatened President Obama's life, as an honored guest to attend the State of the Union address.

But...but didn't Bobby Jindal say something just recently about how the GOP should stop being "the stupid party?"

"Congressman Steve Stockman (R-TX) has announced that he would be bringing musician and conservative loudmouth Ted Nugent to President Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.

“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama,” Stockman said on his congressional website on Monday.

Traditionally, State of the Union attendees are given the opportunity to invite distinguished guests or prominent constituents to sit in during the President’s remarks. And while past honorees include war heroes and selfless public servants, Stockman has instead invited someone who has threatened the President and Democratic officials:

Nugent called President Obama a criminal and denounced his “vile, evil America-hating administration” which is “wiping its ass with the Constitution.”

Taking it a step further, he said that “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

Following his remarks last April at a National Rifle Association annual convention, the Secret Service brought in Nugent for questioning."

Oh brilliant, GOPers.  Way to go in keeping teh stupid alive  in your maniacal, out-of-touch par-tay.  We laugh at you, and we...we...in your general direction.

Ted Nugent-- you mean the guy who pooped his pants and didn't wash for days so that he'd get a 4F designation during the Vietnam draft.  That's "patriot" Nugent, the pant--soiling coward not man enough to fight for his country, but brave enough to threaten the life of the president and get a visit from the Secret Service.  That takes raisinets--shooting your mouth off about wanting to kill the president of the United States instead of shooting your gun off serving your country.  Ted Nugent:  a perfect example of sackless machismo.

Here's Nugent in his own words.

Nugent: Obama Supporters Are "Subhuman Varmint[s]."

Nugent: "Piece Of Shit" Obama Should "Suck On My Machine Gun."

Nugent: Real Americans Are "Working Hard, Playing Hard, White Motherfucking Shit Kickers Who Are Independent."

Nugent: "What's A Feminist? Some Fat Pig Who Doesn't Get It Often Enough?"

Nugent: Sarah Brady, Janet Reno Are "Dirty Whore[s]."

Nugent On Then-First Lady Hillary Clinton: "You Probably Can't Use The Term 'Toxic Cunt' In Your Magazine, But That's What She Is."

And before anyone mentions in the comments "Yeah, but Bill Maher! He called Sarah Palin a bad name too!"  Yes, we know. But tell us, which Democratic US Congressional Representative  invited him as an honored guest to any State of the Union address. Answer: None.

That's the difference between the two parties. One has its outspoken potty-mouthed clowns, but the Democrats know they're just comedians. The GOP elevates their crazy-ass, wang dang sweet poontang loons as heroes and representatives of what the party is about, to be admired and promoted in all their crackpot splendor.

Seriously, GOP.  You need to listen to Bobby.

Steve Stockman is the lowlife, "Hey, look at me," kid in grade school who specialized in things like farting in the lunch line and causing toilets to flood the boys room. Now, he's all grown up and exactly the kind of guy Texas Republicans think would make a good member of Congress. Considering their track record of picking such gems as Tom DeLay and Louis Gohmert, Stockman fits the mold.

As for Nugent, he's the kid in grade school who came along a day or two after a Stockman had farted in the lunch line and stopped up the toilets, and did the same things. Because, Nugent is too stupid to have thought those things up, but just bright enough to think they were cool and mimic them.

We're talking about guys who make trailer trash look like original members of "The 400." Utterly despicable, both of them.

I do agree Nugent does not have good manners and takes free speech to the limit but please point out where he threatened BHO.

If the republicans would just not do outrageous stunts, the democrat party would self destruct without any help but a few republicans can't help themselves. It is a shame they don't see that. They had a chance to beat the promise king and blew it in large part with outrageous stunts that the msm will be all over.

skudrunner,

The post shows where Nugent shot his mouth off in terms that earned him a visit from the Secret Service. Those guys don't visit idiots who promise rainbows and lollipops to the president. Nugent made a threat; the Secret Service followed up on it as they do all threats.

Your comment on the Democratic Party self destructing?

Most excellent example of projection. No one has even hinted that about the Democrats, who have been pretty much unified after their last two presidential wins. The truth is that the GOP is the party that's falling apart in front of our eyes. And a party that gives any credibility to a monumental jackass like Nugent is a party that is sick to the core.

S.W.A., Jindal's words apparently haven't gotten through to melonheads like Steve Stockman, who appears to embrace the insane and the ridiculous as emblematic of the GOP.

When a GOP congressman calls a pedophile VN draftdodger a 'patriot', it reveals just one of their many problems.

And no leader of the GOP has come out and criticized Stockman for his damn fool invitation to Nugent, therefore, "The Stupid Party" label endures.

LOL! Charlie Pierce--so damn good:

"This may be the last chance he [Obama] gets to do this. The Republican descent into madness for years was the great uncovered story of the first Obama term. When it finally erupted into public view during the presidential primaries, and when it forced poor Willard Romney to don peckerwood drag to get the nomination, most of the political elites professed themselves shocked by what had happened. They simply hadn't been paying attention. The Republicans had been screaming out for some kind of intervention ever since 2010, when the country elected the strangest Congress in the history of the Republic. Tonight, the president should remind the country of how things came to that state, and of the impact on the country of having one of its twlo political parties tolerate a rising dementia, and he should issue a ringing call for bipartisan. He should demand that Marco Rubio reach across The Aisle to Rand Paul. They are two sides of the same wooden nickel."

Ah, good old Ted.

I can see the coverage at the entrance as Ted walks up with an ammo belt and a Dagurov on his shoulders.
They pull a .50 and a Glock from his shoulder and waist holsters and the alarms go off and the place goes into lock down because they missed the derringer in his butt crack.

And yes, Shaw, Charlie is so right. Obama has a chance to see the futility of his bipartisan dreams and make it clear that no matter how they dress it up the right has become a party of the insane.

Ted Nugent is a sack of horseshit and Teapublicans, who wallow in that filth, love him.

Horseshit attracts horseshit. It's an old southern saying.

Shaw,

Just because the SS visits someone does not mean he made a threat and you have yet to show what threat you accuse him of.

I believe I did state that had the republicans stayed away from the outrageous stuff, the democrats would self destruct, the republicans went to the wild side and the democrats got a reprieve.

Can't wait to hear what the promise king has to say tonight. Maybe that we need more good jobs or that he supports small business. Maybe it is the old will die and the poor will starve because of the sequester that the democrats came up with. I am sure he will find a way to blame the GOP for all that is bad.

Shaw Kenawe said...

skudrunner, because you belong to the GOP, facts don't count in your universe. Up is down, white is black, and the Secret Service visits people who send president their best wishes.

I don't have to prove a damn thing. You, and the other GOPers who are blinded by their Obama Derangement Syndrome need to learn how to see what is in front of your noses.

Oh. And because I'm pretty sure you won't take the time to follow your nose, here it is:

Ted Nugent comments prompt Secret Service investigation

Ted Nugent is a deranged, feeble-minded sack of what anonymous upthread said he is. Anyone who defends that motley-minded moron is probably full of the same.

Yeah and if flies stayed away from crap.

I never stated I support him and, like Howard Dean, he is a little over the edge.

Shaw Kenawe said...

skudrunner, name anything Howard Dean said that caused the Secret Service to pay him a visit.

Your pissant attempts to excuse the loathsome Nugent and then compare him to Howard Dean are symptomatic of why your brand of conservatism will forever be associated with what Ducky so perfectly labeled "crap."

Yeah, Ted, "I pooped my pants to beat the draft" Nugent, is a certified American hero. In his own mind maybe.

In my never humble opinion, while I have to agree that Nugent's raw, adolescent-style ravings, which belong in the realm of oafish self-parody at best, should be regarded as an embarrassment to the conservative movement, I don't think anything will ever top the flamboyant display of bad taste, lack of dignity and general aura of supreme inappropriateness staged at the late Paul Wellstone's funeral.

AND I'll never forget the lasting corrosive effect of the bile that rose reflexively in my gorge when I made the mistake of tuning into one of Bill Clinton's Fundraiser's, broadcast in its entirely by C-Span. I only stood it for 15 minutes. It was like passing by a street accident. Few can resist taking a look hideous though it may be.

Most of the carryings on in and about Washington, DC these days frankly make me feel ashamed and embarrassed to be an American.

Sad to say the last Washington Event to exhibit any semblance of class was President Reagan's Funeral.

Tragically we've reached the stage where it's all-but-impossible to tell the differences among a Political Rally, a Food Fight at the Junior High Cafeteria or a Feces Festival at a Convocation of Coprophagiacs.

Could a revival of the Circus Maximus be far behind?

I have a great idea. Since Nugent and Dick "Other Priorities" Cheney are chickenhawk-patriot brothers in arms, so to speak, maybe Nugent could give Deadeye Dick some hunting lessons. Who knows, they might cancel each other out. :)

Freethinke, a fair comparison of the Dems' 2008 presidential primaries and Republicans' 2012 primaries, and Dems' and Republicans' 2012 conventions will make clear their is no equivalency. None.

Today's GOP has moved on to a place so far 'round the bend, it's all by itself.

Dissing that took place at Wellstone's memorial service was unseemly and regrettable. It never should have happened. It's also an isolated bit of ancient history and a pathetic bid, I take it, to establish some notion of one's as bad as the other.

Not even a nice try.

Shaw Kenawe said...

While reasonable people will disagree with your view of Wellstone's service--egad, you had to reach back 10+ years to come up with an example"--and not everyone shares your opinion of Bill Clinton, I think it's safe to say that people with functioning intellects all agree that Ted Nugent is a colossal jackass.

And I certainly can come up with examples of dignified events where politicians have participated.

It's not all bad in Washington. In fact, I heard not the teeniest mouse-squeak from people of the conservative persuation while GWB was the president about how undignified Washington had become. I remember how the MSM fawned all over Dubya and his gang of 3.

It always depends on whose ox is being gored, doesn't it.

And once again Shaw, not one GOP leader has stepped up to be critical of this decision.

Not one person who has said in the past that unless and until Muslim leaders, who will then be under a death watch, step up and renounce the crazies in their religion, it is perfectly reasonable to brand them all as backward thinking terrorists.

Please Skud, RN, Silver or any other conservative, please tell us why libs should not expect from GOP leaders the very thing they expect from muslim leaders?
