A Tale of Two Candidates

These two videos on two men running for the presidency show the difference between a serious, informed candidate, Senator Sanders, and Donald Trump, whose qualifications for the presidency are that he talks loudly and carries a big schtick.

Here's Senator Sanders:

This is what a buffoon sounds like: Not one word on policy.  He was defensive about his sexist remarks about Megyn Kelly.  He bragged about how many people watched the Q&A because he was there.  He bragged about how rich he is.  He bragged about winning the debate.  He attacked Hillary Clinton without backing those attacks up with facts.  He bragged about leading the GOP polls  He bragged about how good he is on women issues, then when asked for specifics, he changed the subject to Jeb Bush.  All he said is that he'd be phenomenal for women, nothing of substance:

The most interesting admission by Trump during Thursday's Q&A was that Donald Trump engages in Pay-to-Play politics as usual.  He spreads his money around to politicians of both parties, and then he admitted to the millions of people who listened to the braggart that he calls in favors from those politicians he's bought. This is the guy the Tea Party believes is the anti-politician, the outsider.

In fact, he's been playing the insider's game for years, and he admitted it on Thursday night.

The Tea Party folks love this guy because he's basically a cipher whose says nothing but says it loudly and with a lot of conviction.  Their idea of "telling it like it is" is Trump, who avoids the hard work of knowing details about serious issues facing this country. He's the best when it comes to insulting women and his fellow Republicans. Ask him a question on an issue that is complex or vital to this country, and he'll tell you how great he is.

He's the GOP Tea Party hero.

"Trump is a master of performance art with sub-specialty in outrageous comments, while largely saying nothing at all. When he's in rare form, Trump also puts himself near the center of all matters. And he certainly did that Thursday night.

And Shaw's correct...the Tea Party laps up condidates with no substance who change the subject when anyone challenges them on specifics. I don't think the TP understands that Trump is leading in GOP polls, not countrywide.

The latest Gallup poll shows Hillary Clinton beating Trump by double-digits if Trump is the GOP nominee.

Donald Trump is the ultimate political insider hedging his bets. But he definitely liked Hillary Clinton and wasn't shy about letting the American people know that he thinks she's a terrific person. Now that he needs to pander to the base of the GOP, he has to figure out how to lie about how much he admired Mrs. Clinton. The TPers are in love with a bag of hot air and a major dissembler:

When Clinton last ran for office, Trump was torn between supporting her and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. ” They’re both terrific people, and I hope they both get the nomination,” he told CNN in 2007, adding that he thought Clinton would surround herself with good people to negotiate a deal with Iran. A year later, Trump wondered publicly why Clinton wasn’t chosen as President Obama’s running-mate.

In 2012, as Obama was running for re-election, Trump called Clinton “terrific” again in an interview with Fox News, saying she performed well as Secretary of State.

“Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman,” he told Greta Van Susteren. “I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she’s given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her."

I guess there's no embarrassing Trump's supporters, even when faced with how deceitful he is. They're supporting a two-faced weasel.

I don't remember laughing this much during an election cycle since Sarah Palin made the wingers fall in love with her lipstick and CFM high heels. Wingers: you gotta love 'em, they go for the eye candy and the carnival barkers who bamboozle them every time, they're the adolescents of American politics.

The Tea Party loves crude, boisterous, and vulgar. Trump is their champion because he embodies all of those crass elements. How low has the TGOP sunk.

Re Sanders vs. Trump

One is a serious political candidate, the other is the result of letting the GOP be controlled by know-nothing blow-hard, who is now the representative of all conservatives. Trump owns them. Heh. And we hope he gets the nomination.

Sanders vs Trump. Now that's a ticket I would like to see.

Hillary is the forward think candidate of them all. Free tuition and pay for it with raising taxes.
That is a truly unique thinking out of the box democrat.

Trump is the best thing that could happen for H and that is why the clinton's enlisted his support. Wonder how much it cost the taxpayer's for that payback.

I understand why TPers would believe in that conspiracy. They just can't face the horrible truth that the GOP base loves the crude, boorish blowhard who's so popular with them for saying absolutely nothing. Oh, wait. He does know how to insult fellow Republicans and women.

Where's the proof for your paranoid conspiracy about the Clinton's and Trump?

I'm still waiting to hear who gets Alan Keyes's endorsement.

Come on, Skud. If you are going to criticize Clinton, at least I get her position correct. She is not proposing free tuition. She is proposing ways to make college less expensive for students, but not free. If you have to lie about her position, your argument is null and void...meaningless and irrelevant in other words.

Forget Trump. He's a distraction and anyone with half a brain knows he'll never get the nomination -- sorry Dems, that's not gonna happen. Right now the low IQ base is in love with the bad hair guy, but the majority of Americans hate him and are embarrassed by him and the stupids who think he'd be a great president. It's sarah palin sickness all over again.

He completely lacks a sense of humor and is WAY too thin-skinned for this shit. But, apparently, that is what appeals to the Republican base...someone who says extremely offensive, racist, ignorant shit and won't back down or apologize, ever. They call that being a TRUE Conservative and not one of those "namby-pamby", "go along to get along" RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) who are willing to compromise and make deals in order to make government work.

You are correct as always. It is making grants and loans more affordable at the taxpayers expense. She is a little late with her pandering on this one because bernard and martin beat her to it.

As to ms Shaw's question. If it quacks like a duck, etc. He is against the HRC base and is driving a spike in them for no reason other than to enhance hrc popularity with, women, illegals, and welfare families.
The only thing that can cause HRC to not be the DNC anointed one is if she ends up in jail. That is unlikely to happen given the political affiliation of the justice department.

Doncha just love the way TPer males lump women in with illegals and welfare families? Two groups that the TPers call moochers and takers? In doing so, skud has once again given us more evidence of the TGOP's anti-woman mentality.

Also, there's the TGOP's fantasy of throwing Hillary in jail, in addition to all their other special fantasies about her. And the last jab? With absolutely zero evidence skud predicts that Hillary, who has not been indicted for anything, is being protected by the Justice Department.

So skud here has illustrated, once again, the fact-deprived/depraved mind of a typical TPer. They throw fists full of crap at the wall (in this case Hillary's wall) and hope some of it sticks.

She needs to get away from this email issue as soon as she can. Maybe she will just tell the truth and say there was information on her server she didn't want anyone to see because it would damage her already damaged credibility. I don't know what I was thinking by even saying that.
I am sure she can blame all this on a right wing conspiracy because it worked so well in the past.

Hillary being honest is like trump being reasonable, just not going to happen because both of them are above it all.
