Trump's Filling The Swamp With Terrific Sludge

"Donald Trump said the system is rigged. He said hedge fund managers are “getting away with murder.” He said that he’d “tax Wall Street.” He called Washington D.C. corrupt and promised to “drain the swamp.” He said his opponent Hillary Clinton was too cozy with the banks, as epitomized by her closed-door paid speeches. He said Clinton’s vice presidential nominee, Tim Kaine, was “owned by the banks” and that he, Trump, would break them up. Trump closed his campaign with an ad bashing Goldman Sachs and George Soros, using classically anti-Semitic phrases.

And now, according to The New York Times, ABC and CBS, the president-elect has chosen a second-generation Goldman Sachs partner who worked for George Soros before starting a hedge fund and buying IndyMac, a failing California bank that made billions while foreclosing on homeowners after the financial crisis.

Steven Mnuchin’s takeover of IndyMac is a story about everything Americans have come to hate about how the financial crisis was allowed to unfold ― ordinary people panicking, savvy investors pouncing, a government guarantee that saved a bank but didn’t even try to keep people in their homes, a clever rebranding, rampant foreclosures, billions of dollars in profits.

And now, the cruel punchline: The man behind it is being nominated for treasury secretary by a self-proclaimed billionaire populist."

George Soros... one of the most hated "leftist" America hating people in existence... according to many on the right.

As Ducky might ask, when will the right learn they've been had?

Politicians stretch the truth no doubt about it. Both republicans and democrats. Trump has simply perfected The Art Of The Lie.

Come on folks......rather then sounding like cry babies, who would you recommend for the cabinet posts?
I know Ms.Shaw wont post this.

Trump has simply perfected The Art Of The Lie.

Trump figured out he could say anything and his followers would believe it or not care he's a tremendous liar. You can say both sides stretch the truth but only one side gets away with it, in fact, gets rewarded for it. The Right truly live in their 'post truth' world and there's proof. The purveyors of fake news know where the money's at and it aint the Left.

To Anon @1:06 AM:

Wall Street and Goldman Sachs trasher, Trump, hires a Wall Street insider and former Goldman Sachs partner, Mnuchin, proving for the bazillionth time that Donnie Little Hands is not to be trusted and that his word is worthless.

Normal people would see the appointment of a known racist, Sessions, who lost a federal judgeship appointment because of his racism, would not be appointed as the chief law enforcement officer of the USA.

And normal people would not expect a woman who has no experience, no connection with public education, and a fellow billionaire as Education Secretary.

That Anonymous doesn't understand this is just more depressing evidence that the know-nothing Trumpanzees voted with their arses and not their brains.

54% of the voting population detest Trump and all he stands for. That's our consolation during this debacle.

TRUMP IS A MINORITY PRESIDENT. A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS DO NOT WANT HIM, AND NEITHER DOES A MAJORITY OF WORLD LEADERS.

Craig,

America and the world knows that Trump is a despicable liar and cheat and fraud. Everyone knows it but the fools who voted for him.

So, WHO is surprised to see this NY Times headline?

"Trump's Economic Cabinet Picks Signal Embrace of Wall St. Elite"

Oh, really? Before the election, I saw some of the I-Hate-Hillary crowd posting on FB that they would vote for Trump because Hillary would do that and Trump would not. Hell, except for his kids and a few politicians,Trump doesn't KNOW anyone else, and the unemployed in "flyover country" don't care because he's gonna make America great again. Somehow. Or something.

RN: No one, not even Trump, is as flagrant a liar as those who promotes the claim that there is any equivalence whatsoever in degree of evil between Republicans and Democrats.

BlueBull, TRump passed himself off as a Billionaire Man of the People, with his private jet, 5 mansions, and three wives. LOL! And the suckers who voted for him believe he's "one of them."

Did you read what he said to Gingrich? "This job is bigger than I thought it was."

Does that make us all feel good?

He's going to brag about saving 1,000 jobs in Indiana, when compared to what President Obama has done on saving and adding jobs while he's been in office, Trump's miniscule achievement looks pathetic! But the suckers who voted for him will think this little grandstanding nothing is wonderful.

BlueBull, here's the story:

The White House appeared unimpressed by the news that Carrier had decided not to move 1,000 manufacturing jobs to Mexico, after negotiating with President-elect Donald Trump about keeping the jobs in Indiana.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest admitted that Carrier’s decision appeared to be “good news” but pointed out that Obama had done a better job at creating and saving jobs.

“If he is successful in doing that 804 more times, then he will meet the record of manufacturing jobs that were created in the United States while President Obama was in office,” he said.

Earnest pointed out that under Obama, 805,000 manufacturing jobs were created in the United States. He also boasted that Obama had saved over a million jobs during his presidency by bailing out the auto industry.

Trump isn't draining the swamp. He is causing it to overflow and contaminate the whole country.

@ Craig, To believe democratic party politicians do not stretch the truth, spin it in a way to benefit them is, in my humble opinion, naive. One only need do fact checking of democratic candidates to know this is true.

I agree that the republican party, and especially its president elect, are far less honest than democrats. It will only get worse in the Age of Trump IMO.

That line is perfection, Jerry and it sums up the situation perfectly!
