"The bottomless pig-ignorance & recklessness" of P-e Trump

It is hard to overstate the bottomless pig-ignorance & recklessness, of this step.
Presidents from Nixon onward had careful PRC/ROC protocol https://twitter.com/FT/status/804798863525679104

(1) Foreign policy consistency is a means, not an end. It's not sacred. Thus, it's Trump's right to shift policy, alliances, strategy.

(2) What has happened in the last 48 hours is not a shift. These are major pivots in foreign policy w/out any plan. That's how wars start.

(3) And if they aren't pivots - just radical temporary deviations - allies will walk if they have no clue what we stand for. Just as bad.

(4) It's probably time we get a Secretary of State nominee on board. Preferably w experience. Like, really really soon.

This colossally ignorant, reckless man has caused a serious international incident, and he's not even the president yet. Just imagine the damage and wreckage he will cause when he IS the president. He just insulted and infuriated America's favored trading partner, not to mention a nuclear armed one, with a standing army of 3,500,000. We tried to point out to the fools who were sucked in by Trump's lies and bravado that he is totally unfit to serve as POTUS. Trump is proving us correct every day, and proving that his supporters were duped.

From Talking Points Memo:
It's still unclear if Trump's call–in which Taiwan's president congratulated him–was intended to cause the uproar and signal a new direction in U.S. foreign policy toward China or if Trump had been unaware of the precedent he was toppling. "

We urge the relevant side in the US to adhere to the 'one China' policy, abide by the pledges in the three joint China-US communiques, and handle issues related to Taiwan carefully and properly to avoid causing unnecessary interference to the overall China-U.S. relationship," China's foreign ministry stated.

Trump tried to rationalize his phone call Friday as it was coming under scrutiny.

Well, why can't it be both. Radical GOP members in the House want to punish China for a number reasons, not least for the artificial islands in the S. China Sea. The whole affair was cooked up both in Taiwan and at Trump Headquarters. Trump Hotel representatives have been recently working the Taiwanese for hotel development. What we have here is a convergence of interests coupled with a ham-fisted boorish approach delivered by the ignoramus, Trump.--Ralph VonHolst

This kind of reckless ignorance on the part of P.e.-Trump is why every serious Republican foreign policy expert warned against putting this "pig-ignorant" man in charge of the U.S.A.

China's response was fast and direct. People forget that the government in Taiwan thinks it's the legitimate ruler of mainland China (and vice versa).

China served notice to DT not to touch that tripwire or there will be consequences. Chinese hard liners have been itching for a reason to take over Taiwan. A Chinese hardliner would advocate taking DT's words literally, and that he intends to eventually recognize the Taiwanese government, which would mean that the US is officially delegitimizing the gov't in Beijing.

If I were a Chinese hardliner, I might use that to try to build a consensus for military action to start seizing Taiwanese assets or the island itself. Such is the danger of having an ignoramus as Prez.

Trump is a disastrous effing amateur. If he causes a war his bratty over privileged kids won't risk their billionaire white asses, it'll be the kids from the middle and poor classes. Trump doesn't care anyway, he was screwing women while middle class and poor kids were risking their asses for him in vietnam, and he bragged about it. scum doesn't get any scummer than that.

Each day seems to bring further confirmation of the colossal and glaring lack of qualifications and temperament president "elect" Trump possesses. This if unnerving to every Americans who has any level of awareness with respect to foreign relations and diplomatic protocols.

Trump's bravado, ill thought out and ill timed action, combined with his glaring lack of qualifications is dangerous for global stability and our own national security.

Trump, an unmitigated national disaster.

Ray, Kevin, Anon, Joan, RN, Ducky,

Trump has managed to make an ass of himself before he's even sworn in. Imagine the damage he'll do when he's president.

The world is laughing at him, and US!

Ducky's comment was inadvertently deleted. Here it is:

Ducky's here has left a new comment on your post ""The bottomless pig-ignorance & recklessness" of ...":

"L'état, c'est moi" -- Donnie Tiny Hands.

Or is "Der Staat bin ich!" more appropriate.

Can't believe this clown hasn't even been sworn in and he's already steamed off India and China.
What could go wrong? What would Putin do?

Anyone else leery of a Secretary of Defense nicknamed "Mad Dog"?
