" The state’s Board of Elections—four Democrats, four Republicans, and one Independent—shocked North Carolina’s political establishment by voting unanimously not to certify Mark Harris’s win."
Republicans have routinely tried to suppress Democrats' votes under the pretense of avoiding voter fraud. The fact that they're now under investigation for alleged election fraud proves exactly where the real threat to our election integrity lies.
Evidence of fraud mounts in uncertified North Carolina race won by Republican
A narrow victory by Republican Mark Harris may be thrown out amid evidence of fraudulent absentee voting
The Washington Post now reports that the board has no plans to certify Republican Mark Harris’ win over Democrat Dan McCready while it investigates whether “hundreds of absentee ballots were illegally cast or destroyed.” The board is reviewing statements from voters in rural Bladen and Robeson counties. According to the Post, voters said in their sworn statements that people came to their doors and asked them to hand over their absentee ballots.
Some said the people even filled out the ballots for them. It is illegal to turn in someone else’s ballot. Other voters said they received absentee ballots even though they had not requested them. “I filled out two names on the ballot, Hakeem Brown for Sheriff and Vince Rozier for board of education,” Bladen County voter Datesha Montgomery wrote in her statement, according to the Post. “She stated the others were not important. I gave her the ballot and she said she would finish it herself. I signed the ballot and she left. It was not sealed up at any time.”
At least five other people said that visitors came to their doors and offered to fill out their ballots for them. “She said she was there to get older people to vote,” Emma Shipman, 87, told the Post. “She was kind of pushing me to do it. … I thought about that woman every day. What was she doing?” The elections board is also reviewing “unusually high numbers” of absentee ballots cast in the county, both in the general election and in Harris’ May Republican primary win over incumbent Rep. Robert Pittenger, who lost by 828 votes. In the primary, Harris won 96 percent of absentee ballots in Bladen County, a much higher rate than he got in the overall vote, WFAE reported. He won just 62 percent of the other votes in the county.
A whopping 22 percent of voters cast absentee ballots in Bladen County in that primary, compared to less than 2 percent in any other county in the district. Investigators are also looking at why a large number of absentee ballots were requested but not submitted in both elections. “There are patterns that are at odds with behavior of North Carolina voters,” election law expert Gerry Cohen told the Post. “It’s a whole series of suspicious events.” Pittenger told Spectrum News on Thursday that the allegations of fraud in his district have been “out there.” “We were fully aware of it,” he told the outlet. “There are some particularly unsavory people, particularly out in Bladen County, and I didn’t have anything to do with them.”
And here's another example of Republican thuggishness in Wisconsin and Michigan:
Republican state lawmakers scramble to curb incoming Democrats' power
The Republican-dominated Wisconsin legislature began an unusual lame-duck session on Monday to consider bills that would undercut the power of Governor-elect Tony Evers and Attorney General-elect Josh Kaul, Democrats whose victories broke six years of Republican control of the state’s executive and legislative branches.
Michigan Republicans have also introduced legislation to strip some powers from the offices of the state attorney general and secretary of state, which were both captured by Democrats, along with the governorship in the Nov. 6 elections.
The states were among four, including Kansas and New Hampshire, where voters broke Republican “trifectas,” in which one party holds the governorship and both houses of the state legislature.
The GOP is a corrupt party. Here are the numbers to prove it:
A little helpful reminder when people want to say that both sides are equally corrupt. I am sure the bottom numbers will continue to increase during the next two years.

Donald Trump trashed and mocked George HW Bush, George W. Bush, and Jeb Bush. Trump deserves no "time out" from being ridiculed. Of all people, Meghan McCain? Trump mercilessly mocked her father for being a POW. IMO, Trump deserves no respect on ANY occvasion. Ever.
I think mcCain was saying, at this time, let's focus on Bush, and leave Trump out of the discussion. I tend to agree. 41's life speaks volumes without it needing to be said about Trump.
As for the problems in NC, I'm sure President Trump and Kris Kobach, both of whom have championed efforts to stop the non existent type of voter fraud, will jump to their battle stations now that it seems there are credible examples of real, not fake, voter fraud.
I mean, why wouldn't they?
BTW... regarding the seat in NC, Dems are considering not seating the Republican winner until everything can be sorted out. Doesn't this seem reasonable? Would the GOP call for anything less if the shoe was on the other foot?
Dave, it's not just the Dems who are calling for an investigation in NC, and rightly so. The whole thing smells pretty bad, and good for the Republicans who are appalled at this.
In another era, when the Democratic and Republican parties cared about integrity in the vote, not seating the winner until the mess was sorted out would have been the honorable thing to do.
Those days a long gone.

No wonder those loonies like Trump, they're just like him: cheats, liars, puerile, and dead-enders. It must suck to be them; their "hero" is hated here in America and all over the world. SAD!
When I think of the men whose images adorn Mt. Rushmore or look at a picture I know for certain America is not being Made Great Again by tRump and this era's corrupt lying GOP.
Here's what Politico had to say... "Republicans have argued that any irregularities are not widespread enough to make a difference in the ultimate outcome of the race.
Here we have charges of actual fraud, from other Republicans no less, that the fraud was not enough to worry about. I'm sure the Mother Ship, Always Watching the Lobster Man's Daddy crown would affirm that view.
Because they're the true patriots.
Dave, They're true hypocrites. If you read their comments, you will understand that they have no idea how corrupt and unAmerican their president and the current GOP is. That's because they embrace that corruption for the sake of the party.
Ms.Shaw, the Trump corruption you speak of seems to be a figment of your active mind or perhaps you're just wishing and hopeing.
You're not likely to see the conservative sites discussing North Carolina, Michigan or Wisconsin, Dave.
The phrase, "elections have consequences" has a dual meaning for them, "heads you lose, tails you lose."
The destruction of American democracy means nothing to them.
Anon, trump's own Justice Dept. deemed him a felon. He paid off two of his many mistresses -- a contribution to his campaign of material value, and did not report it -- that's illegal. He hid his corrupt moral behavior from the American people so it would not harm his candidacy. You're the one who's in LA LA Land, not I. You're the one who's still supporting a liar, a cheat, and a man of no personal morals or faith. Good luck with that, Bubba.
Wow, this guy is all of those things and yet over sixty million of your fellow Americans voted to put him in the WH.What were they thinking?
Anon @11:45 PM, yeah. Individual 1 won 62,984,828 popular votes, While Hillary received 2.87 million more, 65,853,514 votes nationwide (the largest margin ever for a candidate who lost the electoral college), 2.1%.
More Americans voted for Hillary Clinton than voted for Individual 1.
And more people who are in Individual 1's administration have been indicted and accused of felonies than anyone who workded for Hillary Clinton.
Also, in the even it has slipped your mind, your preznit has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator and his own Justice Dept. has deemed himn a felon.
Thats the reason our the electoral college was formed so smaller states would have a voice in the election process. If we didn't have it Calif and NY would choose every president.
I saw something where djt won over 3000 counties and -H- around 60. Seems like the dems chose the wrong candidate but so did the repugs. Hopefully in 2020 we can have a candidate who represents the all American's but then if trump is no longer president what will become of MSNBC which has been renamed ATN (anti trump network all day every day).
Clinton was elected by the people. Donald was elected by the land.
