"BETTER TO HAVE A FEW RATS THAN BE ONE."
#45 has never used such despicable, racist terms in describing Putin or KJU. He's attacked American patriots, law makers, and the American free press in the most viciously slandering terms. And he flatters and grovels to America's enemies.
No president has ever been as disrespectful to Americans as #45.
"In the editorial, which ran in the paper’s print edition Sunday, the Sun slams Trump as “the most dishonest man to ever occupy the Oval Office, the mocker of war heroes, the gleeful grabber of women’s private parts, the serial bankrupter of businesses, the useful idiot of Vladimir Putin and the guy who insisted there are ‘good people’ among murderous neo-Nazis.”
The editorial noted that no matter what he says, Trump is “still not fooling most Americans into believing he’s even slightly competent in his current post. Or that he possesses a scintilla of integrity.” And then for the coup de grĂ¢ce: “Better to have some vermin living in your neighborhood than to be one.”
The paper also made a point of highlight that the district Trump so maligned “is part of the United States that he is supposedly governing.” And in many ways, if there are problems in Baltimore, Trump is more to blame than Cummings.
“The White House has far more power to affect change in this city, for good or ill, than any single member of Congress including Mr. Cummings. If there are problems here, rodents included, they are as much his responsibility as anyone’s, perhaps more because he holds the most powerful office in the land,” they added."

What exactly did Trump say about Cummings, Sharpton and Baltimore that wasn't true?
Answer to Anonymous's question: EVERYTHING!
Only a fellow racist would see nothing wrong with the insults that came from the demented rantings of a disgraceful human being. No other president in American history has mocked and disparaged an American city or American minorities like Trump.
Those who continue to support, encourage, and ignore his outrageous behavior will live to see the consequences of this maniac.
A Fox poll shows 57% of voters disapprove of trumps handling of race! Right now all he’s doing is courting racist white men. Thats gonna get him re elected??
I’d like to ask a serious question to Anonymous at 5:24.
What is it about trump that you are able to overlook even the most basic sense of decorum or common decency. Does he resonate with you? Is he someone you want your children or grandchildren to look up to and emulate?
Or are you like some Germans after WWII who kept defending Hitler because no matter what he did, he also did some good things for Germany?
Possumlady
Yeah, Ray. Why are we surprised that a racist president would have the American voters disapprove of him?
Did you see this?
Trump's NYC eateries written up for 'live mice,' other 'critical' health code violations in recent months
Looks like Donnie's got a vermin problem of his own!!!!!
"Violent crime has fallen drastically since the early 1990s, especially in big cities. Our cities certainly aren’t perfectly safe, and some cities — like Baltimore — haven’t shared in the progress. But the social state of urban America is vastly better than it was.
On the other hand, the social state of rural America — white rural America — is deteriorating. To the extent that there really is such a thing as American carnage — and we are in fact seeing rising age-adjusted mortality and declining life expectancy — it’s concentrated among less-educated whites, especially in rural areas, who are suffering from a surge in “deaths of despair” from opioids, suicide and alcohol that has pushed their mortality rates above those of African-Americans.
And indicators of social collapse, like the percentage of prime-age men not working, have also surged in the small town and rural areas of the “eastern heartland,” with its mostly white population"
For tRump to hammer Baltimore and Cummings shows his refusal to look at how horrible his rural base is. tRump's a racist and can only focus on inner city (read P.O.C.) problems. His base is experiencing a disaster.
Trump is losing ground in the states he won. He's negative in Michigan. 53% of voters WILL NOT VOTE FOR TRUMP.
I live in one of those poor, rural, mostly white congressional districts that strongly supported Trump in 2016 and, I think, still supports him. More than half the stores on the main street in my home town are vacant. Jobs for many auto suppliers that used to support the local economy disappeared more than a decade ago. The farmers - particularly soybean farmers - are scrambling. My little county received 29 opioid pills per person between 2006 and 2012. Obituaries of people age 20 to 40 appear regularly in the local newspaper, victims of the opioid crisis.
Donald Trump's hate is a diversionary poison to keep people from seeing he is a campaign finance criminal (not charged because of an old, questionable OLC memo) and Russian asset (see Mueller Report) and maybe Saudi asset, North Korean asset, Koch Brothers asset, etc.
Possumlady, what exactly do you find so objectionable about Trump? Be specific if you can. Are you upset over a booming economy? Are you upset because out military is again strong? Are you still trying to grasp the fact that Trump beat Hillary? Are you more concerned about what your grandkids think about Trump or having a strong vital America?
Anonymous, what exactly do you admire about Trump? His serial adulteries, his affairs with a porn star and playmate after his 3rd wife gave birth to his 5th child? His mocking of an American POW who spent 5 years being tortured while trump was getting laid and risking getting a STD? His cheating people out of money with his fake Trump U. His pathological lying? His racism? His calling his fellow Republicans childish names? His threatening to lock up his political opponents like a good little dictator does? His misogyny? His bragging about grabbing women's pussies because he's a star? His praise of Kim Jong Un, a Commie American enemy? His praise of Putin, a totalitarian who kills his opposition. His making a fool of himself on the world stage? His constant bullying of people who disagree with him? His threats against the First Amendment, calling America's free press the "enemy of the people?" His manic tweeting, misspellings and foolish rants?
His lies, his lies, his lies, his name calling, his infidelities, his lies, his cheating people, his bullying?
If you admire that sort of person, I feel sorry for your children if you have any.
I can't imagine any responsible adult who would hold a man like Trump up as a model of integrity, decency, and intelligence just so the 1% can get a tax break. The economy was already on track because of President Obama and President Obama did better adding jobs at this point in his presidency than trump has. Trump is a blight on America and a majority of Americans and the world agree with me.
Not you!
You've sold your country out. I feel sorry for people like you.
Actually. I don't. I have only contempt for them.
Okay, so you’re like some Germans after WWII defending Hitler — got it!
If you want to shut someone down just call them a racist and if you say it enough times you will be deemed correct. If you look at Trump's history he does not appear racist. Just because he calls out a person for being ineffective in doing his job and he happens to be a black man does not make djt a racist. Have you ever been to Baltimore, it is truly disgusting in parts even though billions in federal assistance have been poured in.
Bernard said the same thing and yet he was not called a racist. Of course cortez accused big Nancy a racist so I guess she is.
Yep, call someone a racist and that is the end of a conver4sation for which I have been accused just for giving an honest opinion on the worthlessness of a certain president.
JHC, skudrunner, really?
Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019
This is nothing new for Trump. In fact, the very first time that Trump appeared in the pages of the New York Times, back in the 1970s, was when the US Department of Justice sued him for racial discrimination. Since then, he has repeatedly appeared in newspaper pages across the world as he inspired more similar controversies.
This long history is important. It would be one thing if Trump simply misspoke one or two times. But when you take all of Trump’s actions and comments together, a clear pattern emerges — one that suggests that bigotry is not just political opportunism on Trump’s part but a real element of Trump’s personality, character, and career.
Have you ever been to Mississippi? The ENTIRE STATE is the poorest in America. Why didn't Trump criticize that state that is in the bottom of the barrel where education, health care, and other factors count as a quality of life. And the federal government has given that state $2+ dollars in aid for every dollar it gives to the government. Where does the money go? Why is a red state like Mississippi ALWAYS last concerning quality of life? That state has been governed by Goopers for decades. It does get #1 position, though, as the poorest state in America. Where does all that federal money go?????
PS. Trump, by all descriptions that fit a racist, is a racist. How you and the rest of the 30 percenters can still support him is shocking. It's not just my opinion, BTW, it's the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS who say he's a racist.
Even Saint Ronnie! OMG!
"...for all of those who are remembering Reagan wrong, an unearthed audio clip proves that then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan, the architect of “Reaganomics,” was indeed a bonafide racist.
During a call with then-President Richard Nixon, Reagan referred to people from African countries as “monkeys,” according to the former director of Nixon’s presidential library, who published his findings in the Atlantic.
From CNN:
Tim Naftali, who directed the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum from 2007 to 2011, writes that Reagan — who would later become the 40th President of the United States — called Nixon in October 1971, the day after the United Nations had voted to recognize the People’s Republic of China. In the call, he says, Reagan is heard apparently referencing the way the Tanzanian delegation started dancing in the General Assembly when the UN took the vote to seat the delegation from Beijing instead of Taiwan.
Reagan, Naftali writes, is heard saying to Nixon, “Last night, I tell you, to watch that thing on television as I did.”
Nixon: “Yeah.”
Reagan continued, “To see those, those monkeys from those African countries—damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes!”
You're from the South, skud. You know very well that one of the worst things a white person could call an African-American is "monkey, ape, gorilla." Using those labels dehumanized black and made it easier to lynch and burn them. It's racist talk, plain and simple.
And even Saint Ronnie engaged in it.
Awful.
Riiiight. To shut someone down, just whine that they call you a racist. Say it continually until you hope and pray the term loses all meaning.
Sorry, that dog won't hunt.

The Washington National Cathedral came out with a statement, part of which is copied below:
We have come to accept a level of insult and abuse in political discourse that violates each person’s sacred identity as a child of God. We have come to accept as normal a steady stream of language and accusations coming from the highest office in the land that plays to racist elements in society.
This week, President Trump crossed another threshold. Not only did he insult a leader in the fight for racial justice and equality for all persons; not only did he savage the nations from which immigrants to this country have come; but now he has condemned the residents of an entire American city. Where will he go from here?
Make no mistake about it, words matter. And, Mr. Trump’s words are dangerous.
These words are more than a “dog-whistle.” When such violent dehumanizing words come from the President of the United States, they are a clarion call, and give cover, to white supremacists who consider people of color a sub-human “infestation” in America. They serve as a call to action from those people to keep America great by ridding it of such infestation. Violent words lead to violent actions.
When does silence become complicity? What will it take for us all to say, with one voice, that we have had enough? The question is less about the president’s sense of decency, but of ours.

That state has been governed by Goopers for decades. It does get #1 position, though, as the poorest state in America. Where does all that federal money go?????
It receives the money BECAUSE it is poor (socialized support). The folks running the state (republicans) manage to spend (blow) the money in order to keep the state poor so it continues to be the beneficiary of the $2 for $1.
Could the republicans be lining pockets? It's certainly not beyond possibility ad is likely probable. Its a deep red republican state after all and repubs make the most successful crooks.
OMG, they should dig up Reagan, prop his corpse up and call him a racist to his face or what's left of it.
Then do the same thing to Robert Byrd.
Whatever else that B actor Reagan did, he tripled the national debt. Trump is well on the way to out do him in that area. Yet, a large minority in this country believe the GOPers when they blame the dems. Among the many problems facing our democracy is the pool of the ignorant.
Via CNN: "A Quinnipiac University poll out this week shows that a majority (51%) of voters believe that President Donald Trump is a racist". Re Skudrunner's comment, people are saying tRump is a racist because he is a racist. The reason is not to shut down debate. Racism is unacceptable and it HAS to be called out. If not we're saying it is acceptable.
BTW, tRump criticizes Baltimore and holds Elijah Cummings responsible... but what about the 9000-unit slumlord whose apartment buildings are infested with mice and maggots? Why does tRump not tweet about this scumbag? Might it be because he is White? Also his son in law, Jared Kushner?
T.H.E.a.D.J.D.S.,
People are very touchy about being called a racist. You're correct, it is a vile and ugly trait that many Americans still hold. I forgot to ask skud why white supremacists, KKKers, and folks like the Proud Boys are supporting Trump and why Trump has not disowned that support. He doesn't because that is his base: Racists, white supremacists, KKKers, neo-Nazis, and right-wing white Evangelicals. And skud gets upset when we associate racism with the GOP?
Recently we've heard Saint Ronnie mouthing the most common slur against Africans and African-Americans: comparing them to apes. That dehumanizes the entire race and makes it easier for racists to torture, murder, and burn them.
If it looks like a duck, if it walks like a duck, if it sounds like a duck, IT IS A DUCK!
The GOP is, by and large, the party of racists. The president, whom they slavishly support, is a proven one.
Anonymous @2:52, 7/31:
Robert Byrd apologized and repented in his later years. Reagan did not:
"Reagan launched his 1980 general election campaign with a speech lauding “states’ rights” outside Philadelphia, Mississippi — the site of the notorious “Mississippi Burning” murder of three civil rights workers in 1964."
Reagan was signaling the southern folks that he's "one of them."
And of course, this:
"Why did Ronald Reagan do so well among white voters? Certainly elements beyond race contributed, including the faltering economy, foreign events (especially in Iran), the nation’s mood, and the candidates’ temperaments. But one indisputable factor was the return of aggressive race-baiting. A year after Reagan’s victory, a key operative gave what was then an anonymous interview, and perhaps lulled by the anonymity, he offered an unusually candid response to a question about Reagan, the Southern strategy, and the drive to attract the “Wallace voter”:
"You start out in 1954 by saying, “N—, n—, n—.” [Editor's note: The actual word used by Atwater has been replaced with "N—" for the purposes of this article.] By 1968 you can’t say “n—” -- that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut taxes and we want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N—, n—.” So anyway you look at it, race is coming on the back burner."
"Facts are stubborn things." --John Adams
BB-Idaho,
See my answer to "Anonymous" above. We knew Reagan was a racist, and he happily courted those who shared his racism.
Democrats reduce deficits; Republicans increase them. But the Republicans blame the Democrats for their profligacy.
RN "Could the republicans be lining pockets? It's certainly not beyond possibility ad is likely probable. Its a deep red republican state after all and repubs make the most successful crooks."
I chuckled at that, but in fairness, there are many Democrats who can own that designation as well.
But it is significant that those red states that have been in the hands of Goopers for decades are not better off, and their constituents suffer.
Meanwhile, our state, Massachusetts, is doing well, is among the best states for all the markers of "well-being."
We've had more Republican governors than Democratic governors -- a statewide elected office. Our GOP governors have been, for the most part, liberal (in the classic sense) Republicans. Chaarlie Baker is still the best-liked governor in the U.S.
In any other time in U.S. history, the GOP would be begging for him to run as POTUS! Instead the GOP is sticking with a serial adulterer, sexual assaulting liar, cheat, and conman.
It is no long the Grand Old Party; it is the Trumpublican Party. They own it and what they've done to this country.
Possumlady,
Racists hate being called what they are. SAD!
