In anticipation of Robert Mueller's appearance before Congress --

The President* Is a Crook and Everyone in Congress Knows It

The Democratic approach was best exemplified by Rep. Karen Bass of California, who led Mueller through a damning yes-no litany regarding the president*'s attempts to get Mueller fired through his then-White House counsel Don McGahn. Bass asked:
COMMUNICATING THROUGH HIS PERSONAL ATTORNEY, McGAHN REFUSED, BECAUSE HE SAID, QUOTE, THAT THE TIMES STORY WAS ACCURATE IN REPORTING THAT THE PRESIDENT WANTED THE SPECIAL COUNSEL REMOVED. ISN'T THAT RIGHT?
ON PAGE 113 IT SAYS, QUOTE, THE PRESIDENT THEN DIRECTED PORTER TO TELL McGAHN TO CREATE A RECORD, TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THE PRESIDENT NEVER DIRECTED McGAHN TO FIRE YOU, END QUOTE. IS THAT CORRECT?
AND TO BE CLEAR, THE PRESIDENT IS ASKING HIS WHITE HOUSE COUNSEL, DON McGAHN, TO CREATE A RECORD THAT McGAHN BELIEVED TO BE UNTRUE WHILE YOU WERE IN THE MIDST OF INVESTIGATING THE PRESIDENT FOR OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. CORRECT?
OKAY. BUT THE PRESIDENT STILL DIDN'T GIVE UP, DID HE? SO THE PRESIDENT TOLD McGAHN DIRECTLY TO DENY THAT THE PRESIDENT TOLD HIM TO HAVE YOU FIRED. CAN YOU TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED?
WELL, ON PAGE 116, IT SAYS THE PRESIDENT MET HIM IN THE OVAL OFFICE, QUOTE, THE PRESIDENT BEGAN THE OVAL OFFICE MEETING BY TELLING McGAHN THAT THE "NEW YORK TIMES" STORY DIDN'T LOOK GOOD AND McGAHN NEEDED TO CORRECT IT. IS THAT CORRECT?
Mueller answered, "Correct," or "True," or, "I refer you back to the report," to all of these. And if that isn't plainly an obstruction of justice, I don't know what you'd call it. And the fact that Mueller wasn't exactly Richard Pryor while delivering his answers doesn't matter a damn. He said the president* is a crook. Everyone in Congress knows it, and they knew it before Wednesday even had dawned. But now there's video.

Mueller said YES, he could ethically indict trump when he leaves office! That was saidto a republian questioner. I hope a democrat brings that up again to highlight it!

Mueller went on later to say, “The president was not exculpated for the acts that he allegedly committed.”

Exculpated definition: “show or declare that (someone) is not guilty of wrongdoing.”

A reminder:

For those on the Right, what is it that you still can't comprehend about this statement in Robert Mueller's report:

"If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state.

Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, however, we are unable to reach that judgment.

The evidence we obtained about the President's actions and intent presents difficult issues that prevent us from conclusively determining that no criminal conduct occurred.

Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."

Donald Trump has dubbed Boris Johnson ‘Britain Trump’, anagrams for which include ‘Irritant Bump’, ‘Armpit It Burns’ and ‘Mr Tit Up Brain’

Re: What the Muller report found about tRump and the Trumpers who refuse to read his conclusion that he couldn't reach the conclusion that tRump was not guilty:

No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot

The Trumpers will never be persuaded. They're blind to truth, as you say, they're cultists.

Awesome article.

MULLER IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE DEMOCRATS

To understand how twisted and damaged the Gooopers are, just read "Opinionated and Right's comment.

Mueller, who's led an exemplary life both private and in service to his country, including serving in Vietnam and earning a Bronze Star with V and a Purple Heart, is labeled "an embarrassassment to the Democrats," by a TrumpCultist. (Robert Mueller has been a lifelong Republican, BTW, but OaR isn't very bright is it.)

Opinionaged and Right supports a man who cheated on all 3 wives and even on his mistresses: a porn star and a playmate, a "man" who got out of serving in Vietnam because of fake bone spurs and who bragged that avoiding STDs was his "Vietnam." A "man" who bankrupted a CASINO! And a "man" who had to pay $25 in a settlement for cheating people over his fake Trump U., who mocked a disabled journalist, who insulted an American judge over his heritage, who made a mockery of a Gold Star family, and who sucks up to tryrants: Kim Jong Un and Vlad Putin. A "man" who's been documented for telling thousands and thousands of lies and who's hated by a majority of Americans and the world.

That's who OaR admires. Not Robert Mueller.

And that is the perfect definition of the twisted mind of a TrumpCultist.

I think this looked bad for the president…..Particularly when Mueller says that if Trump wasn’t president, he’d have charged him.

What the HECK? How can we expect Leftwingers to not make a big deal about THAT???

A quick look around the typical wingnut blogs shows them shitting their pants. What can they say when Special Counselor Muller announces to the world that Trumpkins was NO WAY EXONERATED and can be indicted when he leaves office?

The Trumpers just can't get past Hillary. The poor forlorn bastards know tRump's guilty but yet they will continue to carry his water.

I LOVE the fact that little pissant Donnie can no longer say 'TOTALLY EXONTERATED!" We knew he was a lying scum saying that, but now the world knows it.

God Bless Robert Mueller and his team and may Donnie rot in jail!

We need impeachment inquiries. Trump appears to have obstructed justice according to the Mueller Report:

Robert Mueller confirmed former White House counsel Don McGahn was pressured to lie by the White House about whether he was ever asked by Donald Trump to fire the former special counsel while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

"The president told the White House staff secretary, Rob Porter, to try to pressure [Don] McGahn to make a false denial. Is that correct?" Democrat Karen Bass asked Mr Mueller.

That's correct,” he replied.

The former special counsel’s public testimony on Wednesday and 448-page report detailed numerous examples of alleged obstruction of justice on the part of the president. At one point, the report notes how Mr Trump told Mr Porter he would fire the former White House counsel if he refused to craft a statement claiming he was never directed to fire Mr Mueller.

“If he doesn’t write a letter, then maybe I’ll have to get rid of him,” Mr Trump said, according to the report.

The president referred to Mr McGahn as a “lying bastard,” Mr Porter recalled in his account to the former special counsel.

Are our elected elite ever going back to working for the American people, as Clinton used to say. Trump is not going to be impeached and all the political grandstanding on both sides will not change that.
The Republicans need to pick another candidate to run against him, maybe kucinich with Haley as his running mate, and move on from trump. The RNC can do what the DNC did in the last election. Determine who their candidate is and move on.
The democrats will never move on as long as trump is in office regardless of no proof of illegal activity. The Mueller testimony is a further waste of resources that can be used to support illegal's entering the country.

that idiot who I detest (Schiff….God forgive me) kept stressing “it’s not always legalities which are important…what about ethics, values, etc?”

As if HE has any.

Skud, it's depressing to understand that even though Mr. Mueller testified that trump obstructed justice and that he and his aides and family happily accepted Russian help in getting him elected and didn alert the American justice system (FBI) that a foreign country hostile to America was interfering with our election. You have no problem with that.

That pretty much defines where the GOP is today. They have no problem with foreign countries deciding who our president will be. At any other time in this country's history ALL of America would be shocked to know there are people like that living among us.

But there it is. Skud and his pals are Party over Country Trumpers. And that's not just depressing, but frightening, to think they don't care about what's happening to our democracy, as long as they hold onto power.

Helen, You're implying that Adam Schiff has no ethics or values? On what basis?

If you're a Trumpista, you'd better take a long hard look at the person you admire.
