Surging U.S. manufacturers grow faster in March as key ISM index hits 38-year high
ISM manufacturing index jumps to 64.7% from 60.8%
The numbers: American manufacturers grew faster in March as a key index hit a 38-year high, pointing to gathering momentum in the U.S. economy.
The Institute for Supply Management said its manufacturing index jumped to 64.7% from 60.8% in the prior month. Readings over 50% indicate growth, and anything over 55% is considered exceptional.
The increase surpassed Wall Street expectations. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal had forecast the ISM index to total 61.7%.

Waiting to see the surge in retail purchase numbers due to the 1400.00 dollar checks.
FYI,
someone posted a multi paragraph hate message directed to you on my blog. I do not use moderation. I deleted the ugly comment. I have no clue why they posted it on my blog. The ID said AZ, but went to a blank page. I know you have a hate fan group. I'm sorry you have to go through those attacks. Keep up your good work. I like reading your blog and maybe they see I comment on your blog and that's why they posted the ugly comment on my blog. I'm sure no one else saw the comment, because I only have about three people who read my blog.
Conservatives will find something wrong with this.
Jerry, AZ tried posting here at my blog as well. I don't read their comments, I look at their names and recognize them as trolls from a notorious far right blogger "Who's Your Daddy" whose blog is known for the filth, racism, and anti-women posters she allows.
The boys who comment there often discuss me even though I don't post there. And it's usually comments about rape, violence, and lesbians, all directed at me. IOW, they're a bunch of sick puppies with the IQ of lawn furniture.
Sorry you had to deal with that.
Mike If they find anything wrong with those positive numbers for Biden, it will be because Trump never achieved them! LOL!
(((hands a tissue to Skud...)))
@Jerry - I got one too. I sent it to Shaw so she could see it.
Mike, That sort of post has been on that rabid right blog "Who's Your Daddy" for years. The Trumpers who frequent it spend their time and posts telling everyone how much they hate me.
As FDR once said, "I welcome their hatred."
To be hated by low IQ knuckle-draggers and incompetents is a badge of honor.
Why they sent that to you and Jerry is only more evidence of how stupid they are. No one forces them to come to my blog and read it. Yet, apparently, they do, day after day.
Only mentally challenged melonheads do things like that. What can I say. Sorry you had to put up with their childish nonsense. The delete button is your best friend.
Pity them and their pathetic lives.
On this April Fools Day, let us take note of what a huge joke the GOPQ has become. Enjoy. :0)
But "China Joe" wants to destroy the White working class by outsourcing all our jobs to China! He'll have to raise the corporate tax rate fast.
As did AZ at RN USA. It went to rubbish.
Those numbers are pure gold alongside tRump's negative (below water) numbers.
The Trumpublican cons, Newtie Grinch Gingrich among them, have begun their assault on truth and reality with respect to President Biden's most encouraging agenda. An agenda that ACTUALLY could Make America Great Again. All of America. Not just for wealthy corporations and the uber wealthy and connected.
It's been pretty much this way since RWR steam rolled republicans into normalizing greed. The National Debt and Annual Budget Deficits mean nothing to them. Until there is a Democrat in the White House. Hypocrites, the lot of them.
So with all the jobs being created and everything joey is rosy why do we need a two trillion dollar pork package. I do realize I will not pay for it but how are you explaining this to your grandchildren. Oh well balancing the budget will never happen because that would mean Everyone would have to pay their Fair Share and that is just not going to happen.
What's your feelings about MLB deciding which political party should win. I think it is terrible to not be able to buy votes with water, to increase the hours of polling places and to actually want to see an ID.
You do realize shud that since 1980 and RWR the republicans have been mot responsible for balloning the national debt, right? Republicans ONLY care about the debt when a democrat is in office.
The republicans are nothing but disingenuous lying a^^holes.
I see Skid didn't get that tissue I offered him. Hmmpfh...
Nice to know your vote can be bought for a sip of water, Skid. Mine is far more valuable than that - at least a diet Sprite, thanks. As for the rest of your usual whining, droning one-sided phony outrage routine, oddly missing, btw, when the GOPQ talked about (and did nothing about) the critical need for infrastructure spending in our nation. Bridges have, or are on the verge of collapsing, our roadways are, in many places, potholes being held together by strops of asphalt and hope, and our desperate, and long over-due turn away from the limited and filthy fossil fuels and towards the cleaner fuels of the future.
But hey, keep whining, Skippy. It seems to be what you excel at, these days.
How will I explain my policy choices to my grandchildren?
Well - First - I didn't have two legged children and all my four legged fluffy kids are spayed or neutered which means I don't have grandchildren. So there is that.
B. The Biden Infrastructure Act (or whatever clever name or acronym is attached) to me is an investment in We The Peoples future. For example - the project to eliminate lead water pipes across the country - that's huge. Imagine everyone's drinking water healthy to drink. Now imagine (not a stretch) that this project is needed because in one of the self touted richest countries in the world not everyone has access to clean drinking water. I'd be ashamed not to support this Act and the myriad projects aimed at lifting the USA out of the quagmire.
Third - for the inevitable supposed to be funny but the joke is totally lame comment issued by those who are skud-like: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." here's a civic lesson.
Government is a tool - like a garden rake or a shovel. How that tool is used to create or to destroy depends on the person. Since many government employees are voted in on a regular basis it behooves us as citizens to hold our elected officials to a higher standard that what we've recently experienced. I believe by electing President Biden We The People made the correct choice. Our President is investing in Us. He sees the need. He listened. He understands that when we know better we do better.
That's what I already tell anyone who will listen now.
"I'm doing the best that I can and I know I can do better."
PS skud - you NEVER said a word about what to tell our grandchildren when the former guy gave all that money to the uber rich. In fact I believe I remember you being rather pleased your taxes would go down. Those breaks are about to expire now, aren't they???
Very Well Said Bluebullamerica. And America, the REAL America, agrees with you wholeheartedly beause you're right.
Thank you for your insightful yet common sense commentary Grey One. It is with great pleasure I read your post. It just may be this nation will actually get it right after the trump experiment in complete and utter insanity.
Grey One -- Skidmark is impossibly hypocritical to the point of being a hopeless Republibot.
I second RN on applauding your post. Most excellent!
