Conservative writer, George Will: "I'd Like To See January 6 Burned Into The American Mind As Firmly As 9/11"
"We have something new in American history," Will said. "We have a political party defined by the terror it feels for its own voters. That's the Republican Party right now."
Donald Trump's supporters stormed into the U.S. Capitol in an effort to overturn the election results, and Will said GOP lawmakers were afraid of their undying loyalty to the twice-impeached one-term president.
"Every elected official is frightened of his voters," he said, "therefore doesn't respect his voters and doesn't like his voters and is afraid that a vote for this would be seen as an insult to the 45th president."
Will said the riot was under investigation by law enforcement and journalists, so much of the truth will come out about the deadly assault, but he wanted a commission to memorialize the event as an American tragedy.
"I would like to see January 6th burned into the American mind as firmly as 9/11 because it was that scale of a shock to the system," Will said. "I think there will be a commission, but it is controversial for that reason."

Certainly they're frightened of the easily-enraged and potentially-violent Trumpanzees. That's why they publicly embrace lies which they know full well are lies. It's short-sighted, though. Bullying only ends when you stand up to the bullies -- appeasing them just leads to more of the same. They'll never escape their bondage of fear to the mobs by kowtowing to them.
Every Trumpublicans is every bit as afraid of the fictitious "shadowy nefarious libruls" as trump is. Petrified that their world of priveledge and white supremacy is coming to an abrubt end they will become increasingly more agitated and violent. The marks of reactionary authoritarians around the globe.
Infidel is quite correct. Appeasing the throwbacks to white supremacy will only further encourage their anti social and dahngerous behaviors. It will njotend well.

I’m thinking a LOT of Black families are asking “WHY?”, feeling possibly like I described above..THEIR dead family members really did deserve admiration…yet………………….."
They really have no fking clue why George Floyd's death has such an impact not just here but around the world! There were protests against his videoed killing around the world and those bigoted people on the M.S. don't know what it was such a big thing?

If Derek Chauvin DIDN'T KILL GEORGE FLOYD BY KEEPING HIS KNEE ON HIS NECK FOR ALMOST 10 MINUTES, FLOYD WOULD STILL BE ALIVE AND NOT BE MURDERED BY AN "PEACE" OFFICER.
They are too stupid to understand why this resonated with people all over the world.

Patriotic and sane people will never forget Jan 6, 2021. Of course that leaves out the GQP and their cult followers who are neither patriotic nor sane.
