General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

Never forget what Trump tried to do to American democracy!

"President Trump directly asked Georgia's top elections officials to overturn his defeat to President-elect Joe Biden in the state during a Saturday phone call, according to audio posted Sunday by The Washington Post.

During the conversation, the president repeatedly asked Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) to "find" more than 11,000 ballots needed to overcome the gap between Trump and Biden in the state, thereby flipping the state in his favor."

"The Georgia Secretary of State's office has formally launched an investigation into former President Donald Trump's phone calls to state election officials in which he sought help to overturn the results of the election after President Joe Biden's narrow victory was certified twice.

The investigation, which follows a series of formal complaints filed by a law professor alleging that Trump violated the law during those calls, marks the first formal investigation into Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the election in the state."

The law-breaker below tried to strong-arm Georgia officials into giving him the electoral votes that Joe Biden won. It's all on audio tape; it's also a criminal act:

Direct effort by POTUS to interfere in an election through corruption and influence over elected officials certifying the election -- criminal.  And abuse of power.

And unconstitutional.

Mike, I don't wish death on him. I just hope he lives on to see himself become irrelevant. He's already disliked by a majority of Americans and other countries in the world; his gullible and proto-fascist cultists just can't face that truth.

Trump and his cultists are objects of derision and pity throughout this country and the world.

Trump didn't act alone. He had tons of help. And I know I keep harping on the subject of Christianists* but they really need to be mentioned.

In my opinion, the presence of QAnon/Christian Nationalists at the Jan 6 insurrection meet and greet shows that they really are doing their best to turn the USA into their ideal theocratic city on the hill. Why else would they have brought a gallows to a 'regular tourist' visit?

We aren't done, not by a long shot. Christianists have infected the military (all branches) and local politics from school boards to county commissioners. Reclaiming the country for democracy will take a metric ton of volunteers dedicated to making our country safe for all citizens. Yes, I want the country to be so safe that even Chistianists have the right to exist. What they don't have the right to do is rework the laws protecting all of us in their twisted and warped view of Christianity. The USA was created as a secular nation. It's time We The People remember our roots.

When we know better, we do better.

*Christianists aka Dominionists believe they are meant to rule over all of us because their 2K+ yo holy book says something about having dominion over the Earth. For more information check out Jesus Camp - a video several years old now but no less scary because Christianists have been raising Warriors for Christ for decades now. DECADES. That's what is infecting our nation. If that doesn't raise the blood pressure there is David Barton's alternative historical facts that Christianists repeat as if gospel. One of the side effects of allowing Christianists to homeschool their children based on uncertified lesson plans is history as defined by facts, journals, and letters from our founding fathers is dismissed as propaganda. Instead their kids learn about how our founding fathers really meant for the USA to be a Christian Nation but Satan stood in the way. Scary scary stuff.

For all the talk about how bad Trump is/was, this fact remains...

Separate him from his policies and there is not an inch of space between the average GOP or even "Never Trumper" Republican.

They like his policies. Even a lot of the media darlings that are on the left, will take, as evidenced by Liz Cheney, the ideas and policies he, and the McConnell/McCarthy group espoused.

I'm glad he lost the election and hope he continues to haunt and destroy the GOP, but we still have over 150 House members who don't even agree that there was anything more than a little event, maybe a skirmish, a special tour in Washington on Jan 6.

I wish we could make them irrelevent.

IOW they love deception, bulls*it, conspiracies, authoritarianism, racism, misogyny, and orange hair.

America has been screwed by a lying POS and it is only going to get much worse.

Unless Trump dies (a good thing) or lands in prison for the remainder of his putrid life.
