Top US general warned of ‘Reichstag moment’ in Trump’s turbulent last days
Gen Mark Milley drew comparison to Nazi Germany as Trump tried to overturn election defeat, new book "I Alone Can Fix This" says
Trump told chief of staff Hitler ‘did a lot of good things’, book says. Milley’s invocation of Germany under the Third Reich follows a report in another book, "Frankly, We Did Win This Election," by Michael C Bender, that Trump told his chief of staff, John Kelly, “Hitler did a lot of good things”.
These reports on these books will change no Trump cultist's mind about their idol, but they will make thinking folks stop and realize how close we were to having an ignorant, malignant narcissist destroy our fragile Amerian democracy.
General Milley on his fears of Trump and Trump's armed thugs:
And yet, Republicans failed to find him guilty and remove him from office, twice.
All of this based on Trump's damnable Big Lie!

I've actually thought about going out and buying a rifle to defend our democracy against the lunatic right-wing if it came to that. I don't think the left would just roll over and accept a takeover.
Terrifying yes. Surprising no.
And this is what the GQP want. A dictatorial mad man leading the country. They'll ALL nuts.
Shaw... you know all of these books coming out are false. It's just a bunch of sad sack losers trying to capitalize on their past proximity to the "greatest president ever" who did "so many great things" and was "restoring America's greatness" everyday he was in the White House.
You should be ashamed to post such drivel.
I have no idea why you would trust the words of literally hundreds of sources, reporters who have verified their stories through many people and editors who work hard to make sure the facts presented are correct so as to avoid lawsuits.
“I generally shy away from words like these, but they are simply undeniable:
Donald Trump is a fascist.
The fact that the leaders of America’s military were on alert for a potential coup attempt is appalling, frightening but, stunningly, not surprising.” —David Axelrod
Hers Trump talking to Breitbart months before the 2020 election. It’s very clear he believed he would lead a coup against the US:
The relevant Trump quote:
"I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of Bikers for Trump. I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough...until they go to a certain point, & then it would be very bad, very bad".
In a normal America, Trump would have been shunned and disgraced for making such a traitorous statement. Instead, he had thousands of “Americans” still supporting him.
There’s a Word for What Trumpism Is Becoming
The relentless messaging by Trump and his supporters has inflicted a measurable wound on American democracy.
America, if it falls will be the result of internal forces.
We're peering into the precipice.
