This woman -- AGAIN!

She's a darling of the Trumpers.

Candace Owens: "Ukraine wasn't a thing until 1989. Ukraine was created by the Russians."

And she's embarrassingly uninformed.

It doesn't matter to the people she's talking to, because apparently, they know even less than she does.

Everything she said is wrong. Horribly wrong!

This is grossly stupid!

Uh.... duh.

America wasn't even a free country before the Revolutionary War either. Should other countries have recognized it in 1800? Should it have been dismissed as Owens did with Ukraine?

Again, returning to the Walker theme in the last post...

What purpose do these folks have? What ethos? What political philosophy?

And no, MAGA is not a philosophy absent a lot more specifics than I've ever seen.

The Way It Is said...

Trump says he saved NATO (really?). Steve Bannon says we should "take down the illegitimate Biden regime", and Marjorie Taylor Greene says Ukraine should "give up because they're not going to win anyway" and we should "stop sending military aid."

These are the leaders of the GOP.

Owens tweeted on 1-28-22

"Now for some light-hearted fun. What’s the one “conspiracy theory” that no matter what anyone says you believe is true. Mine is that the moon landing in 1969 was completely faked. Just nothing about it makes sense. Especially NASA “accidentally erasing” the original footage. The biggest thing for me is the fuel tank size, plus the live broadcast with audio from the moon. In 1969. I just cannot."

Ignorance is strength.

The Trumpers LOVE this silly woman.

Trumpers get angry when we call them dunderheads and ignorant. But that's not calling them names, that's expressing a truth about who they are.

They admire Trump and people like Owens, whose intellect is on a par with a baked potato.

Candy's "education" on Ukraine consists of reading one speech from Putin:

Candace Owens
@RealCandaceO
I suggest every American who wants to know what’s *actually* going on in Russia and Ukraine, read this transcript of Putin’s address. As I’ve said for month— NATO (under direction from the United States) is violating previous agreements and expanding eastward. WE are at fault.

So like Candy.

Russian state TV repeatedly showing the clip of Madison Cawthorn calling Zelensky a “thug.” The best propagandists for Putin in the world are US Republican politicians.

Certain Trumpublicans are on the side of the war criminal, Putin, who's responsible for bombing maternity hospitals, schools, and a building protecting children.

What the hell is wrong with these people?

She's the very definition of a "useful idiot."

For her sake I do hope that being that stupid isn't actually painful.

Owens isn’t as smart as a baked potato.

@ Dave Dubya... Ignorance is holding on to the belief that anything is concrete. That there is anything that is permenant. As humanity continues its grasping after all things that please, and or or attempting to make that which it enjoys permanent, suffering continues. Just as attempting to avoid all it is adverse to also increases suffering. IOW attemting to alter life's natural flow (something we all attempt to do from time to time) brings only stress, anxiety, and suffering.

No amount of societal conditioning ot reified "personal beliefs" will change reality as it is. Which after all is what we all seem to be attempting.

Cheers...

Anonymous,
Point taken. I should have added quotation marks on "Ignorance is strength", and cited Orwell's Party of 1984 as its source.

A population's ignorance is what supports the Orwellian world, “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” – The Party (1984)

“Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening.” - Trump

It becomes a willful ignorance. A virtual separate reality of "alternative facts".

"Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal. Whatever the Party holds to be the truth, is truth." O'Brian, "1984"

This always works for tyrants, the radical Right, and Republicans.

“War is peace.” Party slogan (1984)

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.” George W. Bush.

A lot of human suffering has resulted from manufactured artificial realities.

Manufactured artificial realities should be understood to be the stories we tell ourselves to support that which we want to believe. Whether they be collective or individual. Many people work very hard at avoiding reality.

It's been some time (like 50 years) since I read 1984. Thanks for giving me a reminder of it. Time to pick it up a gain
