Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was acquitted of lying to the FBI, in the 1st trial of special counsel John Durham’s investigation.
The verdict is a major defeat for Durham, who has spent 3+ years and $3.8 million looking for misconduct related to the Trump-Russia probes.

Shaw... I've looked everywhere and the best estimate I can find for the cost of the Durham investigation is about 4 million.
Do you have a link on the 32 mil??
Thanks for the catch, Dave.
approx. $4 million, which I misread as $40 million.
I corrected it. Thank you.
Shaw... I figured you would... unlike other sites where when that kind of stuff gets pointed out, we get banned for pointing it out and sent away with a rejoinder that even if it's wrong, the point still stands.
This decision does not exonerate Clinton, or her campaign from wrongdoing.

When was Hillary Clinton on trail? Where did the judge say what you posted?
I guess you are not aware what this investigation is all about.
Yes. I know what the Sussman trial, specifically, was about, and he was found not guilty.
Hillary and her campaign were not part of the verdict.
The crux of the indictment is that Sussman didn't disclose to the FBI that he represented Clinton. But the FBI knew he represented Clinton anyway.
This was a nothing burger served in a peach tree dish.
Could we have ever found a more pathetically fitting summary of Bill Barr's record? A costly witch hunt founded upon innuendo and commissioned entirely for political reasons, comes up with zero crimes after almost 3 years!
The Sussman jury foreperson admits that the jury decision to acquit was became “We have more important things to worry about than a lie to the FBI” WHAT?
Her job was to look at the evidence and determine if he broke the law or not!
Not to play Political Games!.
Can anyone explain how this is? How did our legal system get SO BROKEN?
So "Pedro" you're angry because the jury didn't do what YOU wanted it to do?
That's not how this system works.
Pedro has a reading comprehension issue and a huge "I find things I disagree with to be against the law" issue too.
Took me a moment to find the following quote as the story has been buried by the latest/greatest gun massacre but I am persistent.
'One juror said "Politics were not a factor. We felt really comfortable being able to share what we thought. We had concise notes, and we were able to address the questions together. Personally, I don't think it should have been prosecuted. She added that the government "could have spent our time more wisely." '
So, for the record Pedro, Michael Sussman was acquitted of lying to the FBI therefore no lies took place. Do we really need to explain all the grown up words to you? I ask because I care.
As for how our legal system 'got so broken'? It was designed that way - protection of but not limited by the law for the rich White heterosexual land owners and limited by the law but no protection for the rest of us. Want something better? This election Vote Blue No Matter Who. Our Democracy depends upon it.

Whatever good works Barr did (if indeed he performed any good acts that is) he will forever be remembered as the lapdog of the former twice impeached defeated guy. Heck of a legacy.
I remember back in the day where an issue like this would be a major story, with at least a week of back and forth discussion. Today? Eh? Didn't even make it three days before folks shooting up the place takes its' spot.
I'm doing my best to remain positive but in this reality where facts aren't respected... In my opinion we really need to reboot the USA and correct what has been set asunder.
Reboot the USA and correct ALL the shit that was wrong from the very beginning. Or perhaps better put... reboot and revise so as to facilitate the fluidity and continuity of advancing true liberty, equality, and equanimity.
