General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

THINGS I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M READING IN THE 21ST CENTURY:

From a MAGAt:

1)  "Tudor Dixon, a Donald Trump acolyte who is the Republican nominee for governor in Michigan, told a local Fox station that abortion should be illegal even in the case of minors who are raped. She suggested that having the baby could be 'healing.' ”

2)  Re: The stolen WH top secret, classified documents by Ex-President Trump:

We have never -- ever -- seen anything close to this from any President or ex-President in American history.

Here's what I'm reading, in addition to the claptrap you've shared above...

"So if I was as corrupt as Biden’s White House, DOJ, and the FBI are, and I had Midterms coming and a presidential election down the line, I’d do this:

I’d raid Trump’s private home with little reason stated for doing so, but let hints out like “Nuclear code,””highly classified information,” etc etc, as the reason for the raid….terms that really shake people up."

This line of thinking, from the HMS Ship of Denial is incredible. The White House, DOJ and the FBI are all corrupt and in on a political scam like this. And all the Trump appointees and employees in those departments are also in on it, as none of them have spoke up. Including John Durham, who still serves at the DOJ.

But let's look at the search... No sane person can deny Trump had those documents. Why? Because he admitted it in a legal briefing in response to the search.

And that's the crazy right these days. Rather than deal with facts, they ignore and look for reasons why it can't possibly be true.

It's absolutely crazy. At least Silver admits the Feds got something, while he waits to see how bad it is.

Moving on, here's another link that'll drive you nuts too...

Louisiana does not allow abortion for fetus with no skull...

"Louisiana does not allow abortion for fetus with no skull..."

Forcing a girl or woman to carry an unviable fetus to term is getting into Talibanic territory. It is a kind of imposed torture on that woman, and it stupidly gives more weight to the rights of an unviable being over that of the living, breathing girl or woman bearing it. Stupid. And anti-girl and woman.

Nature makes mistakes. All. The. Time. These insane, anti-girl/women, anti-abortion laws have only one goal in mind, IMO, and that is to make girls and women suffer.

These anti-abortion laws are based on Catholic doctrine.

The Jewish religion, other Christian religions, and other worldwide religions DO NOT enforce Catholic doctrine beliefs on their people, yet the SCOTUS has imposed Catholic doctrine on all girls and women, whether they're religious or not.

People claim humans need religion to keep them moral, but this is example of imposing a religious doctrine on girls and women for immoral purposes.

It is immoral to force a woman to carry a deformed fetus or a dead fetus until the body expels it, making her susceptible to sepsis or other dangerous medical conditions.

It is immoral to force a girl or woman to wait until the last minute to gain medical help for an ectopic pregnancy. The girl or woman can die unless an immediate medical procedure is done on this type of pregnancy. (Two of my close friends had ectopic pregnancies -- they are NOT that rare!)

It is immoral to force a child to carry her rapists fetus, making her susceptible to life-threatening medical conditions. A ten-year old child does not have a body ready for giving birth, nor is she capable of being a mother at 10 years of age!

The decades of lies and hysteria from the radical Right have reaped the inevitable results.

Ignorance, racism and theocracy have combined to unite and drive the White Nationalists and Christian Nationalists into a frenzy of fear and hate for anyone not in their cult.

They are more than happy to crush our democracy, corrupt our elections, and install the most authoritarian brutes into our government. They've had a taste of minority rule, crave more power, and have become the greatest threat to our republic since the Civil War.

I went to the Mother Ship to read it and came away feeling sorry for them all. They are so marinated in "Poor Trump, everyone's against him!" and "It's all a setup to prevent Trump from being POTUS again!"

They're classic paranoids, and no amount of facts or reality will get through to them.

I enjoyed reading -FJ's comments, though, there and on AOW.

He's been excruciatingly WRONG on EVERYTHING he's posted about since Trump lost the election in a landslide, and he's excruciatingly wrong on all his conspiracy-laced comments about Trump's theft of classified docs.

WRONG ON EVERYTHING doesn't seem to stop him from offering his wrong opinions again. LOL!

I've read several articles on why this is true and it will never change. We have to stop trying to compromise with these nut jobs.

With both sides refusing to compromise, each believing in their own obscurations and delusions, how is that going to work? Another assured civil war in the near future?

Does either side recognize the utter self destructive energies at work here?

I have a question for Rational Nation USA who said "With both sides refusing to compromise, each believing in their own obscurations and delusions, how is that going to work? Another assured civil war in the near future?"

First, I need to clarify a definition; specifically the use of Christian in Christian Nationalist. My mother is dyed in the wool Christian, someone who has dedicated their entire life to living as their Lord and Savior taught in the Scriptures. The church she attends views the Christian Bible as a Holy book but one written as the inspired Word of God, not the Literal Word of God. As her churches pastor states - these are the stories which define us. They light they shine in the darkness is very mighty.

Christian Nationalists are as far away from the Christianity my mom practices as the planetoid Pluto is separated from the Sun.

Christian Nationalists believe our country was founded as a Christian Nation (they are incorrect). CN's believe it's their duty to force their idea of faith upon everyone (they are doing a bang up job of codifying their idea of religion into national law). CN's believe it's impossible for anyone not of the Christian Nationalist tribe to tell the truth, in fact in their eyes CN's don't have to be honorable or follow the laws described in the Christian Bible when dealing with anyone not a Christian Nationalist. For evidence I present all the posts at Right Wing Watch. No opinions, just letting Christian Nationalists be themselves.

So, RN, when the other side (Christian Nationalists like MTG and LB) refuse to treat anyone not of their faith as a fellow human let alone citizen how exactly do you see both sides refusing to compromise?

I am Pagan and I've watched for decades as Christian Nationalists lifted up their prophets, who according to their book must be stoned to death for prophecies not coming true, only no one is demonized in their tribe, just everyone deemed 'other. I've listened to more than my fair share of imprecatory prayers by these same Christian Nationalist priests, which to me sound a lot like the spells I'm told will bring me to hell. The hypocrisy is almost sickening.

All I've ever wanted is for Christian Nationalists to share the public square when it comes to expressing ones faith. All I've ever wanted is CN's to follow the same rules the rest of us citizens have to follow.

How on this pale blue dot can you conflate both sides of the current culture war as the same? I look forward to your reasoning - really I do as I've read your posts for a while and I respect your opinions.

Just wondering if I misunderstood what you said but then I go back.... No. There are two sides and one of them is clearly not on the side of For the Good of All and May it Harm None. I know in my heart I'm doing the correct thing by demanding CN's learn to share. I also know they've repeatedly called for my death. I'm not seeing the equivalence.

I second Grey One's request for elaboration from RN. "Both siderism" has led to greater tolerance of lies from the Right.

Obama drove the Right over the edge.

"This is not a time for compromise, and I can tell you that we will not compromise on our principles," John Boehner said during an appearance on Hannity's radio show in 2010.

Dems have compromised on practically every bill, only to meet Republican obstruction.

And compromise isn't the only drastic difference.

Radical Right terrorism is by far the greatest domestic terror threat to our country. The DOJ has confirmed this.

Only one side is to blame for the political violence the past few years.

I had to rant about "Both Sides" BS:

Les Carpenter said...

I did not say anythings about equivalency for there is none. However, please tell me where ya'll think this is going to end. I'm fairly certain it won't end well.

In the end all political issues when there is no resolution general ends in violence and lost lives. Seems a lot like its where this nation is headed today.

Dave, I stopped with the 'Both siderism' a long time ago when the whole Q thing started. People so utterly stupid as to believe that nonsense do not deserve quarter nor can I consider them real Americans given their desire to 'tear down the government'. Yes, government has problems, but it also still works and the last thing we need is a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals running around with their made up theories and conspiracies dragging us backwards instead of forward. A pox on them ALL. Long gone are the days where we could disagree without being disagreeable, sadly.

Les Carpenter said...

And the disagreeable thingy is only getting worse. And, it will continue methinks until one of two things occurs... 1) deep civil unrest (maybe even Civil War #2) or, the "side" resisting compromise caves and compromises to prevent serious civil unrest.

If only there were a simple cure for ego driven self centeredness and attachments.

It's going to end with bloodshed RN, the same bloodshed we've been shedding for the last 200 years. Do you think that Civil Rights was a bloodless movement? If so you've not viewed the same footage and photographs as me.

My only crime according to the Christian Nationalists/GQP is believing the Constitution and Bill of Rights applies not only to them but to me and others like me. I don't want to outlaw the other side, I want them to learn how to share with others and if they are unable to do such a basic thing as acknowledge my right to exist then I will take this fight to it's logical conclusion.

I'm willing to consider nonviolent methods but that's not an option with the GQP/Christian Nationalist crowd. Have you listened to their preachers? Have you heard their imprecatory prayers? So where is your condemnation of them?

I wanted your opinion RN and you punted. Very disappointing to be honest.

Grey One talks sass said...

BluebullAmerica - government in and of itself is a tool, like a tomato cage, plow, or shovel. It's the person working the tool who determines whether it is used for good or evil. Thus far We The People have neglected that side of government, meaning if we have a piss poor government it's because We The People made it so.

For the future I'd love it if facts mattered, if our long term plans factored in future effects seven generations away from now, and if everyone participated in their civic duty. I guess I'm a bit of a Pollyanna with my dreams, but I guess that's what dreams are all about.

RN,
You'll have to forgive us for seeing equivalency in, "With both sides refusing to compromise, each believing in their own obscurations and delusions."

Then:

"I did not say anythings about equivalency for there is none. However, please tell me where ya'll think this is going to end."

Where it ends is anyone's guess. But where it's been and where it IS has been clear.

Our system is rigged for minority rule, and if not minority rule, then minority power to obstruct the majority. That's how it's been and still is.

And guess which side is in a delusional rage? The minority rulers.

The constraints on democracy are in the Constitutional Electoral College and unrepresentative Senate, that empower the conservative white minority.

People think I'm racist to say it, but it's true. America's other fatal flaw is having too many white people. Too many of them are insulated from the rest of the country and have no idea of the circumstances and experiences of other racial/ethnic Americans.

And they are indoctrinated to see only themselves as "real Americans" to the point they believe THEY are the persecuted ones.

White "oppression and victimhood" is the overall delusion in the conservative Christian radial White Right. They will be resentful and angry even while enjoying minority rule. And that's exactly what the economic elites are playing them for. White fright is the key to corporate rule.

And that's how we have minority rule in our American oligarchy.

Only a massive majority of voters can overcome the rigged system, and even then, will be militantly challenged by delusional angry white people.

"More than half of Republicans think minorities are favored over Whites in the United States"

No group was more likely to say that minorities are favored over Whites than supporters of former president Donald Trump

"Trump voters say men are discriminated against more than gays, minorities"

Nearly half of Trump voters said men face either “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of discrimination in America today.

Les Carpenter said...

Guess I wasn't clear Dave. Thanks for pointing that out.

At this point in time I've really little use for either party. Party's are really just political tribes following whatever "leader" has the most agency in the given moment. But there is no equivalency with respect to obstructionism. The party pf red holds the obstructionist crown w/out a doubt. And they wear the Crown of Obstruction very well.

My point is that given the fact that 1) republicans pride themselves on obstruction and are repulsed by compromise and 2, democrats have been unable to break the red ice or convince enough folks to vote democratic to tip states blue in enough numbers to gain a true majority foothold. And it is unlikely the EC is going anywhere anytime soon.

I had an interesting conversation with my brother some time ago on whether the USA should have been 50 independent states. Given our very dysfunctional American family I now actually wish that were the case.

Any white citizen who denies that white male privilege has always existed in America and feels (believes) that they are discriminated against more than gays, minorities is simply ignoring reality and choosing to claim victimhood.

Cons have always had issues with affirmative action. Perhaps when the fossils of conservatism all die off in America things will change. But, I suspect not.

Hope this gave some clarity to my position. All I know is blogging (political) has become less enjoyable and almost boring. Why... hamster wheel.

Have a sparkling day.

Grey One talks sass said...

And he takes the ball to score! Thank you RN, I understand your point better.

So, yes. Politics as a two party system has become outdated, if it was dated when it started. When we know better, we do better.

That said, the system in place here/now, an antiquated, overly complicated mechanism heavily weighted in favor of a group of humans who've held control unjustly for far far (to infinity and beyond) too long is all we have. Reality sucks, but it does me no good to wish for what is not here/now. Best to ride it out a bit longer.

Until We The People can achieve our best work We must vote Blue at least until the current attack on Democracy passes. How many cycles? Well, follow the money. Citizens United has got to go, if you know what I mean.

Also and too, do I believe there will be big reveal moments on both sides of our current political scene when the DOJ finally presents the cases they opened all those months ago? Ooh yep.

My rage is a carefully banked furnace and when all those humans who spit on our most sacred documents and inspired literal crap in our hallowed halls finally face the finding out part of life? This Old One will be drinking their soup, like you do and there will be glee in my heart. It's a good thing.

Sparkles back with glitter on top
