In these un-United States, we now live in a state of minority rule, literally at the mercy and pleasure of emotionally unstable gun owners. Each day, we go to work, dine, shop, attend church and school aware that at any moment (as we’ve witnessed with fully normalized regularity), the unhinged are ready to unload. But don’t expect it to change. Not so long as the freedom to own and stockpile assault weapons is a right more sacred than our right to public safety, as long as the massacre of children is tacitly viewed as acceptable collateral damage, and as long as the political minority use the Second Amendment as a shield to prepare for civil war.
Lack of respect for the rights of all others and ignorance leads the way.
The values and principles the nation allededly stands for means little to nothing to these aggressors.
