Trump Renews His Bromance With The North Korean Communist Dictator

Read Trump's social media post below.

This would have been unbelievable in normal times with a functioning Executive Branch - a US president openly criticizing our longtime South Korean allies while appearing to want to appease North Korea's dictator leader, Kim Jong Un.

Trump states that the military exercises with South Korea are disrespectful to Kim, who is an adversary of the US and all of our allies and who is aligned with Putin against Ukraine, supplying Russia arms and troops to help him wage war on another US ally. This is directly counter to US and allied interests, and is a baffling, dangerous move away from a balance of power and world order that has maintained a regional peace that the superpower nations have mostly adhered to.

Trump appears to, once again, be out of his depth, rashly toying with alliances that he clearly either misunderstands or is willing to trash, because South Korea, like most of the rest of the world and all of our traditional allies, refused to get involved in Trump's ill-planned failure of a war in Iran, -- a war that threatens to cripple the world's financial and energy markets for years to come.

Do any of Trump's rational, seasoned advisors know that this is beyond being dangerous and disloyal, and edging toward something worse? Trump is once again showing America and the world how utterly unequipped he is for the presidency, and how the new world order he's trying to effect is bad for the US, in the short and long run.

Thinking about alliances myself lately. Maybe staying clear of foreign alliances as the founders initially advised would actually have been more prudent.

But I guess being the US Empire, with 750 military bases worldwide and. maintaing worldwide economic and geopolitical hegemony has been our game since 1945.

But like all Empires of the past the seeds of decline and perhaps eventual collapse begin growing after our defeat in South Vietnam. And, we have.not won a war since. Not Irag, not Afghanistan, not Iran. But there's the Falklands and Venezuala. So there's that.

Does anyone actually believe there is unchanging permanence in anything? That like a covered stainless steel girder things will last nearly forever?

The world is changing even as I type this. While I abhor donald j. trump and his autocratic authoritarian methods I must say rethinking old alliances and structures in light of a rapidly changing world and geopolitical realities, may not be a bad thing.

But of course we still have 750 military bases strewn across the globe and the capitalists of death and destruction (the MIC) must continually be fed.

So, here we are. And, as always, we'll muddle through. Because that's what we do.

See you in Bandar Abbas...

North Korea is the newest country in the world to get nuclear weapons capable of hitting the US. That was in 2017.

Maybe -FJ, Skud or someone else can help out and tell me who was president then. As I age I find I can't remember certain facts.

It's interesting about NK.

Iran has seen how we deal with NK as opposed to how we deal with them. Iran, with no nuclear weapons, gets bombed to oblivion. NK, a terrorist state with nukes, gets love letters from the president.

MAGA bloggers go, pardon the pun, ballistic, over Iran potentially having or getting a nuke, but say nothing about NK having nukes, which can already hit the US.

What's the lesson here?

NK knows the US will not attack because of fear of a nuclear war. It's that old mutually assured destruction thing. So what are other countries learning from our "relationship" with NK?

Get a nuclear weapon. Then the US will not bomb you and push for regime change.

Thanks President Trump! Your leadership and three dimensional chess strategies that are impossible for our enemies to figure out, are working fantastically.

Just a second, my N Korean worshippers...."I will bomb the sh*t our of Oman:
Now where was I? Simple lunacy defended by desperate followers. Such progress since the stne age.

The geopolitical stance of the USA has been lunacy for years. Under multiple administrations. No change in sight.

That's the deal right BB? Cozy up to a North Korean dictator, while threatening to bomb a US ally who first aligned with the US in 1833. This relationship, with the first Arab Gulf State to establish military ties with the US is now in jeopardy with Trump's threat to "bomb the shit out of Oman."

Who says that to staunch US allies?

Me thinks, only a mad man.

Or someone trying to pretend that Oman isn't going to help him conquer the Straits of Hormuz
