Trump keeps showing America what a crook he is:

Fox News contributor and former chief assistant U.S. attorney Andrew McCarthy told Trump via Twitter that he might want to pick a different word.
McCarthy wasn’t the only one to point out the definition:

Trump's lack of knowledge about criminal justice is mind boggling. Prosecutors obtain "search warrants" from federal judges by showing probable cause, in compliance with the 4th Amendment, as they did to search Cohen. Trump only sees rats & witch hunts in cases where he's at risk

Do you realize that by calling a “rat” you’re admitting he had something to rat on you with? Are you really this dumb?

587 people are talking about this

Wrote back in August, this president uses lexicon of a gangster. Whatever one thinks of M. Cohen — for @POTUS to call him a “rat” — utterly disgraceful & unconscionable.

And, DOJ doesn’t “break into” attorney offices w/o cause, warrant approved by judge. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/trump-is-acting-like-a-mob-boss-i-know-because-i-lived-with-one?_amp=true

"...the law is beginning to squeeze [Trump] from all directions..."

Here's #45's personal lawyer of 10+ years telling America and the world in plain English that Donal J. Trump is a liar and a lawbreaker.

Will his cult believe Cohen? Of course not! They've invested too much of themselves to face the fact that Trump is corrupt and that they continue to support a deplorable man with no core values.

Michael Cohen:

“He knows the truth. I know the truth. Others know the truth,” Cohen continued. “And here is the truth: People of the United States of America, people of the world, don't believe what he is saying. The man doesn't tell the truth. And it is sad that I should take responsibility for his dirty deeds.”

Of course Trump’s fan base will never listen to this warning, even coming from someone who was known for his loyalty to Trump for years. But prosecutors are listening to Cohen when he says that Trump knew about the hush money payments and knew that it was wrong but did it anyway to protect his campaign.

Eugene Robinson, WaPo:
"Now the law is beginning to squeeze him from all directions. [...]

The bottom line is that two witnesses, Cohen and AMI, independently now implicate the president of the United States in the commission of two felonies. The campaign finance case is being brought by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York. Back in Washington, meanwhile, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III has been busy, as well. [...]

Trump’s longtime accountant, Allen Weisselberg, has turned state’s evidence. He may be the Virgil who guides federal, state and local prosecutors through a Trumpian inferno of shell companies and opaque transactions. The outlines of Trump’s fate begin to emerge."

You can check out the far right blogs and news sites to see they're still defending Trump the Felon.

TRUMP'S PERSONAL LAWYER GETS 3 YEARS IN JAIL FOR HIS CRIMES

Michael Cohen blamed his "blind loyalty" to Donald J. Trump for his criminal behavior.

Michael D. Cohen, the former lawyer for President Trump, was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday morning for his role in a hush-money scandal that could threaten Mr. Trump’s presidency by implicating him in a scheme to buy the silence of two women who said they had affairs with him.

The sentencing in federal court in Manhattan capped a startling fall for Mr. Cohen, 52, who had once hoped to work by Mr. Trump’s side in the White House but ended up a central figure in the inquiry into payments to a porn star and a former Playboy model before the 2016 election.

Federal agents raided Mr. Cohen’s office and home in April, and he later turned on Mr. Trump, making the remarkable admission in court that Mr. Trump had directed him to arrange the payments. Mr. Trump at first denied knowing anything about the payments, but then acknowledged that he had known about them. This week, he insisted that the payments were “a simple private transaction” — not election-related spending subject to campaign-finance laws.

*Snort, Snort*

UPDATE BELOW

The great Charlie Pierce:
TRUMP: OK, let me ask you this, just -- and we're doing this in a very friendly manner. It doesn't help for me to take a vote in the House where I will win easily with the Republicans.
PELOSI: You will not win.
Loser.
As I said, this was a notable exchange only in that it happened among American politicians. There are exchanges overseas that make this sound like a Sunday school chorale. But that's what makes it all the more compelling. It happened here, and in the White House, and in the president*'s face. Fundamentally, this was mockery, and eminently well-deserved. And, in case anyone, including the president*, missed the point, Pelosi was more than happy to sharpen it for him. From Politico:
Pelose: “It’s like a manhood thing with him — as if manhood can be associated with him,” she deadpanned. “This wall thing.”
Deadpanned. Emphasis on "dead."

GURRRRRRRRRRRRRL!  You go Nancy!  You are savvier and so much smarter than "Individual 1 !"

UPDATE:

A reporter just revealed Trump threw things in childish tantrum after meeting with Pelosi and Schumer

“He stormed out of the Oval, walked into an anteroom just off the Oval Office and had in his hand a folder of briefing papers. And he just scattered them out of frustration — threw them across the room,” Stokols said on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” according to his own discussions with White House officials.

According to Stokols, Trump was particularly peeved with his fellow New Yorker Senator Schumer whom the president realized out-witted him by shrewdly getting Trump to bear full responsibility for any government shutdown over the president’s insistence on fully funding the border wall that he promised that Mexico would pay for during his campaign.

While out-witting Trump may not be a particularly difficult task, getting the notoriously finger-pointing president to actually accept responsibility for anything at all that doesn’t involve stroking his gargantuan ego is an accomplishment that should qualify both Schumer and Pelosi for some type of award.

Other news sources say that at least some of Trump’s anger has been directed at his own Vice President, whose silence during the meeting led some wags to speculate that Pence was too busy closing his eyes to pray his way out of the room in an early rapture to contribute to the conversation."

CARTOON OF THE DAY

No automatic alt text available.

From a Conservative Republican who once supported Donald Trump:

"If Donald Trump didn't happen to be the President of the United States right now, it is likely there would be Federal agents a-knockin' on his door serving papers indicting him on violating Federal election law."

And yet trump's supporters still make excuses for this miserable man who has disgraced the office of the POTUS and who has embarrassed America every time he Tweets or opens his mouth.

Here's an example of a thoroughly inept and blind TrumpCultist that was in my comment moderation folder, signed by "Anonymous," when I returned this AM from visiting family. This is an excellent example of how the mind of a TrumpCultist refuses to see what's in front of its nose:

"With all the attacks on our President, all the time, I fear, our last great hope, to turn this country around, is being hammered to a point he cannot withstand. Donald Trump is without a doubt the toughest leader I’ve seen in my life time. He has been able to deal with all these attacks,, which, just keep on coming. But, he is only one man and the constant assaults must weigh heavily on his mind. Just imagine this country without Donald Trump. Just think would all the normal people like you and me have to deal with. It would be the Obama years times 10. I find there are far to man, of our people, who criticize our Pres., way too much, over every little thing. Put yourself in Trumps place and try to keep your temper from flaring up. Those of us who see what this country would devolve into, MUST support this Pres. Ignoring all the small crap and faux pas this man say’s or does, by those of us, who support him, is an important part of keeping this Administration from being taken apart, from the inside. As we go into the new year, we will see what kind of country we will end up with, with the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, and Mad Maxine (who just happens to be the person in charge of the district my business is located) running the show. My hope is that Trump will shut the govt. down, if he doesn’t get the $$ needed, to start the wall. I hope he would, up the anty and go a step farther and demand that to restart the Govt. the price is now back to the 25 mil. needed. Give the Democrats the Daca deal they refused and stop this immigration craziness and NEVER GIVE IN .These next few weeks, are really, the last chance Pres. Trump will have, to do what is needed. Living in So. Cal.I see 1st hand all the various way’s this border madness is causing trouble, daily, for average people like me. tO MANY TO LIST. Sorry for rambling on, but, I feel Trump could use all the help we can give him. We need to support him better, if possible, to keep the country we all love. We must somehow do what we can, to keep the USA, from becoming a Liberal Democrat run mess."

Not one word in this rambling, messy diarrhea of thoughts of Individual - 1's lying, cheating, stupidity, and alienation of our allies, and being fingered as an "unindicted co-conspirator" by his own personal lawyer, as well as being named as a felon by his own Justice Department .

None of that matters to his cultists because they willfully and stubbornly cleave to the idea of Trump as their messiah, sent to the GOP to enrich the rich and make the less fortunate among us more unfortunate and miserable.

We already know, even if the "Anonymous" of the above screed doesn't, that "Individual-1" is the most disliked president in modern American presidential history. The likes of "Anonymous" are a distinct minority that contiue to baffle the sane among us as they continue to support this dirty president and his inept administration.

OY! Another Tweet from America's unstable "genius:"

4,722 people are talking about this

That "simple private transaction" was paying off a porn star and playmate to keep them quiet about his having affairs with them just after his 3rd wife gave birth to his 5th child. What a guy! And that's just one reason the Evangelical "Christians" love Donald J. Trump -- for his "simple private transactions" that cover up his many infidelities while giving them heavenly tax cuts. I wonder if they tell Jesus in their prayers that it's all worth sullying themselves for the sake of this immoral swine?

Justice Department Calls Trump a Criminal

Federal prosecutors released sentencing recommendations for two alleged criminals who worked closely with Donald Trump: his lawyer MichaelCohen, and campaign manager Paul Manafort. They are filled with damning details. But the most important passage by far is this, about Trump’s fixer: “Cohen himself has now admitted, with respect to both payments, he acted in coordination with and at the direction of Individual-1.”
The payments in question, as the document explains, concern a payoff to two women who claimed to have affairs with Trump. The payments, according to prosecutors, were intended to influence the campaign, and thereby constituted violations of campaign finance law. They have not formally charged Trump with this crime — it is a sentencing report for Cohen, not Trump — but this is the U.S. Department of Justice calling Trump a criminal.

Republicans Cheat to Win -- Again

UPDATE:

" The state’s Board of Elections—four Democrats, four Republicans, and one Independent—shocked North Carolina’s political establishment by voting unanimously not to certify Mark Harris’s win."

Republicans have routinely tried to suppress Democrats' votes under the pretense of avoiding voter fraud. The fact that they're now under investigation for alleged election fraud proves exactly where the real threat to our election integrity lies.

Evidence of fraud mounts in uncertified North Carolina race won by Republican

A narrow victory by Republican Mark Harris may be thrown out amid evidence of fraudulent absentee voting

Investigators have found mounting evidence of fraud in a North Carolina U.S. House race that a Republican won by 905 votes. Earlier this week, the bipartisan North Carolina board of elections unanimously voted not to certify the results in th state’s 9th congressional district after a Democratic member cited unspecified “unfortunate activities.”

The Washington Post now reports that the board has no plans to certify Republican Mark Harris’ win over Democrat Dan McCready while it investigates whether “hundreds of absentee ballots were illegally cast or destroyed.” The board is reviewing statements from voters in rural Bladen and Robeson counties. According to the Post, voters said in their sworn statements that people came to their doors and asked them to hand over their absentee ballots.

Some said the people even filled out the ballots for them. It is illegal to turn in someone else’s ballot. Other voters said they received absentee ballots even though they had not requested them. “I filled out two names on the ballot, Hakeem Brown for Sheriff and Vince Rozier for board of education,” Bladen County voter Datesha Montgomery wrote in her statement, according to the Post. “She stated the others were not important. I gave her the ballot and she said she would finish it herself. I signed the ballot and she left. It was not sealed up at any time.”

At least five other people said that visitors came to their doors and offered to fill out their ballots for them. “She said she was there to get older people to vote,” Emma Shipman, 87, told the Post. “She was kind of pushing me to do it. … I thought about that woman every day. What was she doing?” The elections board is also reviewing “unusually high numbers” of absentee ballots cast in the county, both in the general election and in Harris’ May Republican primary win over incumbent Rep. Robert Pittenger, who lost by 828 votes. In the primary, Harris won 96 percent of absentee ballots in Bladen County, a much higher rate than he got in the overall vote, WFAE reported. He won just 62 percent of the other votes in the county.

A whopping 22 percent of voters cast absentee ballots in Bladen County in that primary, compared to less than 2 percent in any other county in the district. Investigators are also looking at why a large number of absentee ballots were requested but not submitted in both elections. “There are patterns that are at odds with behavior of North Carolina voters,” election law expert Gerry Cohen told the Post. “It’s a whole series of suspicious events.” Pittenger told Spectrum News on Thursday that the allegations of fraud in his district have been “out there.” “We were fully aware of it,” he told the outlet. “There are some particularly unsavory people, particularly out in Bladen County, and I didn’t have anything to do with them.”

And here's another example of Republican thuggishness in Wisconsin and Michigan:

Republican state lawmakers scramble to curb incoming Democrats' power

The Republican-dominated Wisconsin legislature began an unusual lame-duck session on Monday to consider bills that would undercut the power of Governor-elect Tony Evers and Attorney General-elect Josh Kaul, Democrats whose victories broke six years of Republican control of the state’s executive and legislative branches.

Michigan Republicans have also introduced legislation to strip some powers from the offices of the state attorney general and secretary of state, which were both captured by Democrats, along with the governorship in the Nov. 6 elections.

The states were among four, including Kansas and New Hampshire, where voters broke Republican “trifectas,” in which one party holds the governorship and both houses of the state legislature.

The GOP is a corrupt party. Here are the numbers to prove it:

A little helpful reminder when people want to say that both sides are equally corrupt. I am sure the bottom numbers will continue to increase during the next two years.

This new Congresswoman is giving the TrumpCultists a very large pain in their nether regions.

And we love her for that.

They've been attacking her since she won her primary, so that is certain evidence that she's someone they fear:

She's a Latina, she's young, she's well educated, and she's part of the newly-elected, diverse Democratic majority in the House.

The TrumpCultists don't like anything about her or her accomplishments.

That makes me very happy that she's a Democrat.

From Wiki: Ocasio-Cortez attended Yorktown High School, graduating in 2007, where she won second prize in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair with a microbiology research project on the effect of antioxidants on C. elegans' lifespan. As a result, the International Astronomical Union named a small asteroid after her:  In high school, she took part in the National Hispanic Institute's Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session. She later became the LDZ Secretary of State while she attended Boston University.

Ocasio-Cortez had a John F. Lopez Fellowship. In 2008, while Ocasio-Cortez was a sophomore at Boston University, her father died of lung cancer. During college, she was an intern in the immigration office of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy.

She graduated cum laude from Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and a minor in economics.
